Military Service in a Theocratic Dictatorship

Given the sorry state of official military affairs. If we were to have any formally funded soldiers they would be volunteers. No restrictions, save competence. Outlined in the doctrine of 'the Republic' every citizen owes it to themselves to defend their self-determination, and that they should not depend on others for their liberty, although it is implied that an attack on the liberty of one is an attack on the liberty of all. Informally this nation has nearly 5 million soldiers. Formally, due to donations being lacking in these hard times(Formal funding for militaristic expenditures is under constant review) the FORMAL quantity of soldiers is much closer to 1000 active, 100,000 reservists.

In short, in my country, everyone(12+) is soldier.

We are almost entirely apathetic to gender. We could care less if you were a man or woman; to us, it just means who you get to have sex with without being executed. Women have full rights to congress, military, job positions, college, regional voting, and whatnot.

Of course women are not allowed to serve in the military! The woman's only proper role is to care for her husband, and his children.

Not only are Yannian women allowed to serve in the military, but like Yannian men, they are obligated to, although pregnant and breastfeeding women are exempt from service. However, they'll still have to serve the exempted time later, which leads to a lot of middle-aged women being petty officers. Behind their backs, they're often referred to as Musyƫ (Mom) by the younger conscripts.

If they can meet the requirements, then they may serve. Combat units are open exclusively to those of them able to meet the same standards as male recruits.

Yes, Kriegizstan accepts all into the military. However, the compulsary military laws only apply to males. However conscription is available for both.

If you have conscription, why do you limit it to the men?

Probably because it is bad enough when you lose a massive portion of your male population in a war, losing a large part of your female population would only exacerbate population problems. Biologically speaking, females are more valuable than males, and it will always be that way. 1 Male and 50 females can produce more children than 1 female and 50 males.

True, true. I was aware of this fact, though I wanted to get his explanation.

In any case, the Freehold does not practice conscription. We've never had any cause.

Glad to know I'm not the only one...

We just had a political skirmish with the Dragovichland Socialist Party (the worlds best commandos) and the Teen corp was the first to respond and fought them to a standstill with very few casualties. The DSP were killed once the massive tank corp surrounded them and politly asked them to leave, they refused so....KABOOM

There's actually a subculture of men in Faolinn who specifically try to score military women. Their appearance was a reaction to common western views of womanhood.

They're used in every role but combat duty to free up males to fight. However women are used as fighter pilots, snipers (occasionally) and naval officers sometimes.

Women are not allowed to serve as combatants because women are the ones who need to raise children and defend the homefront when the country's at war.
They can however work at military hospitals and supply depots.

Women may serve in all branches of Raludcia's military, excluding certain frontline units.

Units like the Marines, Paratroopers, and as Frontline Infantry.

Women serve most prominently in the Navy, which has a far higher ration (about 1 in 4) female personnel than the other forces.

Whatever few sentient females left in Hallistar do tend to serve in the military. The majority female population has been replaced with cloned females but who are powered with an artificially intelligent mind. This was after the large almost out of control Hallistarian debate that lasted for months on feminism, what life was like for a woman, etc, and that itd be the fairest for everyone. They used the cloned females with AI brains after they were researched and developed. Almost every Hallistarian male has a female companion cloned to customized specifications.
