It is rather uncertain as to whether the Second of Nicolas VI, a law establishing the criminal offence of witchcraft, has technically been repealed. It has fallen into disuse, but it is believed by the Lord High Chancellor's department and the Attorney-General's department that it still technically has legal standing. If, therefore, magic appeared, the government would probably use the Second of Nicolas VI to prosecute those responsible.

Magic has the potential to be a powerful tool to reinforce our dominion over the working-class populace and - perhaps - rebellious Houses. The Government, acting for once separately from the nobility, would study it in secret facilities and:

a) work out any rules it may have
b) work out how to use it
c) work out how to stop everyone else from using it
...from the Diodovote of Dystara, and by the Principles of Purity; in the name of Rorsené, in the name of Ilvingr, in the name of Yus, in the
name of Buy do-Craah, in the name of Merard, in the name of Farrant, and in the name of all who gave of themselves for us and for Dystara.
State - Theoretically theocratic three-tier aristocracy of alliterators
Government - Tathate under Diodovote of 10
Population - 118,910,000 (1731

Calendar - Parrah me-Nitringi (

Magic?

Simply magic does not exist and is the product of many childrens tales. Many species however can adapt and evolve scientifically to harness several abilities that to the idiotic eye might seem like magic for example Former Prime Minister Nikola Tesla is over 200 years old and he is kept alive by simple biology not magic another example is the sentient Pony which seem to gather their magic from their horns which seem to made out of a high efficient metal and other yet unknown materials.

Magic is accepted in Abturbia and plays an extremely important role in the nation's politics. Abturbia itself was founded by mages, and it continues to be lead by a council of magi. However, some forms of magic have been banned by the council. The ban on necromancy has stood firm for centuries now, and those caught practicing it are persecuted and will face capital punishment or imprisonment.

Right, okay... "magic." Sure, yeah... you know magic is? Sufficiently advanced technology. Not mystical mumbo jumbo. Just tech that we have yet to understand. And like any technology, it is the state's to control and regulate to ensure the safety of its citizens. So you can have your "wizards" wave their staves, or your "witches" brew their potions, and pretend that's all okay, but we'll let the real professionals - the scientists- handle it here on Nohn.

There's no laws banning magic, so I guess it's accepted.
Please note: Central Lothian is the direct successor to Mid Lothian*. As a result, I am still called Rebecca, I am still a Grammar Nazi and most information pertaining to ML also applies to CL (although I will be taking this time to change a few things).

* - And I may refer to the country as Mid Lothian. If I do, assume that I mean Central Lothian. (And not to be confused with "Midlothian" - I'm using that as a fascist version of CL.)

It would be used anywhere and everywhere. It would probably mean the end of our traditional lifestyles, likely lead to a sudden shift in leadership (ie it would start to exist) and ultimately lead to the destruction of the world. Que sera, sera.

Then again, we already have the power to communicate and sometimes even acquire physical objects in dream, and probably a few other weird things that are less widely acknowledged, so maybe it wouldn't be such a big deal after all.

Curiously enough, our Unicorn mages say much the same thing. Magic IS our science, our way of understanding the workings of the Universe. Our nation has entire schools and universities devoted to the study of its nature and the ways it can be harnessed.

Citizens in Vilona are allowed to use magic as it benefits them in their daily lives and they don't use it to harm others. Certain forms of magic are illegal, but considering how powerful and accessible magic is (it is a fantasy setting, after all), it's not exactly easy to regulate.

The use of Magic is restricted to the Healing Arts. Anything else is highly outlawed and is punishable by being burnt at the stake, and other tortures.

Magic can trigger angry mobs of chainsaw wielding Raptors, so it is banned. Besides we have sufficiently advanced Genetic Engineering so we have solved hunger problems, revived dead soldiers, & invented squirrel grenades.

Depending on the circumstances, our people would probably regard it as a Manifestation of the Cute One, or possibly the work of demons. Whether we respond with songs of praise or with torches and pitchforks will depend on how our Elders interpret the phenomenon.

Magic? Oh, it's accepted in the Kingdom, in fact the life of the Kingdom itself revolves on magic;it's a magic-powered nation. Of course with great power comes great responsibility! Azrkyri are indeed by the Kingdom's own laws are free to conduct magical stuff but they must know that even that Kingdom's official there can use magic. The Kingdom itself allow low level magic to be used freely, it's just such magic should not be used to cause annoyance to others or he or she will be given the equal punishment for it regardless of status. Considering of what the Kingdom had faced before, magic is not really a strange concept. The way of usage would be as the Kingdom cannot really tell how a certain person might use his or her magical talent.

And therefore, if that citizen want to use magic, he or she must firstly adhere to several special rules before even using it, in case of high level ones while lower ones have evidently looser regulations. The magic knowledge of the Kingdom itself serve as the first barrier to avoid that random Joe from executing a powerful magic which can wipe out that village out of the map; the knowledge is controlled and the system pertaining to the magic knowledge of the Kingdom is very complex as it's basically related to many things. The second barrier is a mage license, one must have a license if he or she wanted to become a mage and use magic publicly. This order is carried out by Lythen Tirhum extremely seriously which unqualified mages are bound to be locked from most of his or her power until the person gets the license. Dark magic however are utmost forbidden in the Kingdom, if one is found to use it, let's just say that his or her fate won't be so bright as the Kingdom do not compromise on the matter at all.

Magic, would be kept away from the populace and studied. We wouldn't use it in the military because, Well it be practically useless, by the time you be able to summon a simple fireball, average soldiers would have riddled you with holes already.

"Magic" as it is interpreted by us is nothing more than the simple manipulation of protons, electrons, and individual quarks (On the advanced side) with nothing more than a specie's neurological structure fine-tuned to the electron-quark interaction occuring deep within the neurons. Being a "Magic-blind" species, we are currently studying non-human prisoners of war whom show an affinity to "connect" with the minds of their neighbors in attempts to understand exactly how virtual particles interact with the sentient's neurology and the environment in which he or she inhabits. Then, - with some genetic engineering in the future, of course- we will instill into our next generation of soldiers how to manipulate the space-time continuum through whatever means necessary to better serve our planet.
