Would you make these creatures slaves?

No. They deserve freedom, and they have the right to explore your land, and maybe join your nation!

Hmm more people for the workforce, if they are hard working after five years of working they would be viewed as naturalised, heck less than that if they chose to become the subject of one of the monarchs (strictly speaking no one is a citizen of the commonwealth just subjects of one of the monarchs...though the people are the sovereign power and the monarch is just a figurehead (well that and being a constitutional monarch of sorts)) . Though they would not be slaves they would be classed as migrant workers initially so couldn't vote, though would get free education and possibly health care, depending on a number of things I won't go into.

Slavery it self is not illegal, per-say, as the concept is so foreign to the peoples of the commonwealth, it has never been legal to ban, that legally it would fall into the category of an unenforceable contract. The minute a slave enters commonwealth territory they are de-facto free as the concept does not exist within law...well unless they want to be slaves, for some odd reason, then it's up to them and their 'owners', again the relationship would have no legal standing.

Does 'wage slave' count? Actual slavery has been illegal in Dracoria since its inception.

We'll put them in Refugia (the refugee province), and if they are deemed worthy, they can become full citizens. Because, well, slavery is illegal.

The World Liberal Alliance does not support any kind of slavery. We have a strong principle that liberty is the basic right of all sentient beings. A group of people should not be treated as slaves, but they have to be treated equal just like ordinary citizens, even though they deserve to be treated as slaves.

I belive the WA have already outlawed slavery, so member states have already been kicked out of that. Other than that slavery was eliminated from Dravesgarde the fifth time Vengeance showed up, the cleanup was horrendous! Blood everywhere, chunks of chicken and people, nuclear fallout... but that was before I took office.

Slavery in Aurora Confederacy does not exist, certainly not for the law abiding. get put in prison for a criminal offence, and you will work your incarceration, however even prisoners have some civil rights, but to Enslave someone is totally illegal

If they came to our nation and desired to work for nothing we would let them but we would also give them to right to leave their job when possible.

Oh of course not, there are no slaves in Hemmia.

What slave-trade? Oh that slave-trade! Oh that's a completely different thing, we are simply giving the native brutes a chance at work and salvation in a new nation, a chance they're can not refuse! Besides that affair is done in the colonies, not here in the Hemmian homelands so it's totally different.

If they're determined to be sapient, then they're entitled to the same rights to citizenship as any other sapient being as long as they respect YellowApplan laws and customs.

If they're not sapient, then they're perfectly legal for a sapient being to own as a pet.

We certainly would not enslave them. Slavery is barbaric and degrading and bad for business. If they were willing to live under our laws, we would welcome them as sisters. If not, I expect we would provide their ship with supplies (at very reasonable prices!) and point them towards some more compatible star.

Not if you ask some people. But that's a different discussion.

Illinoia is presently considering new legislation which would modify this nation's stance on slavery, and those who practice it.

There are Cattle and Sheep in Equestria that are talking, intelligent creatures. They are also, for all practical purposes, slaves of the Earth ponies, kept for their milk and wool. We are not a cruel people; the Cattle and Sheep are well looked after. The reason they are kept on the Earth ponies' farms is that, honestly, they're totally unsuited for life as free people. They are livestock by temperament, and content with their lot.

Seeing as they weren't slaves in the first place they would fill out the forms, get the visa, come and live here and get whatever job they fancy. We are anti-slave. Any slave that reaches our borders are automatically set free and given citizenship. We are membrs of several anti-slave committes, and we buy slaves in the hundreds just to set them free.

If these people weren't sapient they would be given the choice of whether to be treated like one, or if they would like their own place to live in their ways. If they were unintelligent we would automatically give them the latter.
