The Book of Zacchaeus [1-40]
Before the mighty kings of men ruled the world,
Erudus was the master of the heavens and the earth
and Mundus, His sister, was His wife and queen
But when the time had come to yield His throne
in favor of his brother, Pravus,
then Erudus would not step aside.
A fight ensued between the old and new,
Till Pravus had thrown Erudus from the sky.
He tumbled down to Earth, and with His wife
He made a ship of wood and nail and sailed to this, the lands of Consus.
He taught the primitive and the unknowing many useful arts,
to save the seeds and sow them in the ground,
so we need never have to search for food.
He showed us how to breed our animals
so we might always have their meat and fur,
so they would help to plow the fertile Earth.
Erudus first taught folk to strike bright coins
from shining silver, glittering gold and bronze.
He showed how money might be put away,
and saved, and put to use another day.
In these and other ways Erudus made
our lives much easier and free.
His happy reign was called the Golden Age,
when there was food enough for everyone,
and people shared the bounty that they had,
and no one ever stole or fought or lied.
But when the end had come to Erudus' reign,
He wisely chose to set aside His crown.
He sailed away beyond the boundaries of the Great Sea,
to Acerbus, where He now sleeps,
upon hidden from all watching eyes,
where He awaits another Golden Age.
But till that happy time is come again,
in this, all the passing days, months, and years till endtime
we go in thought to Erudus' forgotten realm
to wake from sleep the ancient kindly king,
and ask Him once again to walk with us,
and let us live for all time with Him,
and forever enjoy the blessings of His Golden Age.
In short, Divinitologists believe that the world was forged by Erudus and he gave humanity wisdom and knowledge. His reign on Earth was an era of euphoria and everlasting tranquility, but when ended brought about the reign of Pravus, the wicked one. Pravus is responsible for the fallacies of man and the catastrophes committed by both man and the Earth. Divintologists believe at some point Erudus will return, defeat Pravus, and establish a new Golden Age in the realm of Men. He is the supreme deity in Divinitology and is commonly referred to as The Maker or The Teacher.
