1 - What is the legal drinking age?
15 (low alcoholic content drinks); 18 (all drinks)
2 - Driving age?
15
3 - Age of sexual consent?
15
4 - Voting age?
18
5 - At what age would someone become an adult (free from parental control)?
Traditionally, young people stay longer with their families than in other Western developed countries. They only "leave" when they get a stable job and can start supporting their own family. After that, however, the connection between both generations (the parents and their children), remains very strong
6 - What types of recreational drugs (if any) are legal?
Pot: Limited (Fully legal for medicinal purposes; recreational use restricted to be only inside licensed 'dispensaries')
Tobacco: Limited (For sale only in tobacconist stores; cannot be consumed in public spaces)
Cocaine: Illegal
Alcohol: Legal
LSD: Limited (for psychiatric care and research only)
Caffeine: Fully legal, available to people of all ages
Heroin: Illegal
7 - Can people have guns?
Gun use is heavily restricted for civilians. Only guns specifically made for hunting can be purchased. The minimum age for buying a gun is 21, and the minimum age for using one without supervision is 18. Their use for self-defence is technically legal, but concealed guns cannot be carried in public. All military-grade weaponry is legally unavailable to the general public.
8 - What is the official full name of your country? What is the informal name? What are people of your nation called?
Official: The Great Union of Fonidia and Osteyon. Common names: Fonidia and Osteyon, F&O, Ostidia, The Union. Demonym: Ostidian
9 - Do you have the death penalty?
No. It was abolished in 1957, although no legal execution had been held since 1917.
10 - What is the speed limit?
Streets: 50 km/h City roads: 80 km/h Single carriageways: 100 km/h Motorways (dual carriageways):
11 - What types of religions are permitted or restricted?
Everyone in the Union has the right to profess the religion of their choice, and the right to share their faith. Members of all religions cannot be discriminated, and public hate speech towards religious people is a (relatively minor) punishable offence. Legally recognised religious institutions are exempted from taxation. The Catholic Church is the religion of the Royal Family and the religion of the vast majority of Ostidians. Judaism and Oriental faiths like Buddhism are also prominent. Unrecognised faiths are labelled as cults and their institutions do have to pay taxes and are heavily regulated as they're treated as businesses.
12 - Porn:
Legal; citizens must be 18 or over to purchase pornographic content on their discretion. Explicitly sexual depictions of real people under the age of 18 is forbidden.
13 - Prostitution:
Legal, but strictly regulated. Citizens must be 18 or over to indulge in such acts on their discretion.
14 - Polygamy/Polyandry/Polyamory:
Any amorous activities between two or more consenting citizens above the age of consent are legal, as long as no physical or psychological harm is done. Ostidian society, however, repulses cheating in all instances. Cheating between married couples means a violation of the legal marriage contract.
15 - Homosexuality: Yes
16 - Stem cell research:
Embryo stem cell research is very heavily restricted, considering the ban on abortion.
17 - Human cloning: Illegal
18 - Cock fighting: Not illegal, but discouraged. Tauromachy is legal and regulated.
19 - Slavery: Illegal
20 - Hunting: Legal
21 - Fishing: Fish is vital for several Ostidian dishes, so it has to be legal
22 - Eating meat: legal as well, obviously
23 - Littering: Punishable with fines
24 - Unisex bathrooms:
Some places have "family" toilets, and smaller establishments may have a single toilet meant to be used by both sexes.
25 - Suicide:
There's no way to punish a person after they committed suicide, but people who attempt suicide at train or metro stations and somehow survive can be fined for damages. Psychologists and psychiatrists work in schools and offices to track and take care of anyone that is too stressed or mentally unstable; F&O has a very low suicide rate thanks to all these efforts. Euthanasia for aware patients is not legal, although patients in long-term coma may be disconnected depending on their condition.
26 - Gay marriage:
Gay couples can't get married; they can get "household unions" that work similarly, except that they don't include a no-cheating clause, nor allow for adoption.
27 - Abortion:
Illegal in most cases. Legal only if the life of the mother is in an otherwise irremediable danger, or if the foetus's life cannot be saved for a reason. Women who suffer with miscarriages can get free psychological attention.
28 - What types of sexual activity (if any) are illegal?
Relations with a person below the age of consent, anything that involves physical and/or psychological harm, zoophilia, necrophilia.
29 - Is your country's/culture clothing optional or mandatory?
In most public places is mandatory to at least wear something that covers the genitals. Some special circumstances may allow for full nudity in urban public spaces, while all beaches are clothing optional thanks to more relaxed and less sexualised views on nudity, though again, most people at least cover their genitals (it's mostly children and, amusingly, older citizens who go fully nude to the beach). Women toplessness is not taboo and tops are technically not required for them or for men in public areas, but people normally wear them anyway. Schools, temples, offices and most businesses have clothing codes. Full nudity at home (indoors or on spaces not visible from the street) and at private places/businesses that cater to nudists is legal.
30 - Do you have obscenity laws?
Obvious sexual arousal in public is technically not illegal, but very discouraged by society. Any kind of explicitly sexual activity in a public space is illegal, unless (very) special circumstances determine otherwise. Couples can make out in public or whatever (although people will look at you either amused or in disapproval), but anything that involves pulling down your pants should be taken to a motel room.
31 - What system do you have for taxes?
There are income taxes, and taxes that are added to the value of some products, like alcohol and tobacco.
32 - What is the criterion for someone to pass to become a citizen?
Immigrants above the age of 18 must have resided in the country for at least four years and have a stable income in order to apply. People can bypass the time requirement if they get married (or "united" in the case of homosexuals), and/or have their children be born in Ostidian territory. Minors who moved to F&O are automatically Ostidian citizens once they turn 18. Anyone who is born in Ostidian territory will automatically be an Ostidian citizen once they turn 18, regardless of where they're living at the time. Anyone who is the children of an Ostidian citizen, but wasn't born in F&O, can apply for citizenship as soon as they turn 18, regardless of where they're living.
33 - What types of people do you allow (or not allow) into your country?
F&O has no terrestrial borders. However, ferries and trains (via underwater tunnels) can move people from the continent to the country and viceversa. People entering through those means don't require a passport or a visa; passport or visa is required for people coming in international flights, however.
34 - What type of government are you?
Constitutional monarchy with a bicameral parliament. The country is divided into 53 shires governed by a governor, and each of the shires is further divided into municipalities, each of them leaded by a "High Mayor". Communities within municipalities are granted the levels of hamlet, village, town and city depending on their population or historical context. The difference between each level is the size of their local council. The head of the local council is called the "Low Mayor".

The capital is located in the Royal District, which works differently from the shire system. The Royal District is divided into 11 sub-districts, and each of them is further divided into neighbourhoods. The Royal District has no governor, but a "Lord Mayor" instead, while each of the sub-districts has a single Mayor and council. Each neighbourhood has their own independent council formed by the citizens; these are usually led by prominent local businessmen or sometimes clergymen.

Parliament members, governors, high and low mayors are chosen via popular vote in a two-past the post system. The Parliament chooses a First Minister every four years. A First Minister can be re-elected by the Parliament only once; Parliament members are elected every two years and restricted to four re-elections; governors are elected every four years and are restricted to two re-elections. High and Low Mayors are elected every two years and may be re-elected up to six times.

35 - To what degree is your government allowed to censor or restrict the media?
The Ministry of Culture (MINCULT) is in charge of evaluating and rating all media and works of fiction (including games, books, music, comics, TV and radio programmes, and films) that are meant to be sold or transmitted in Ostidian territory, using a specific criteria. A work is only censored with the consent of the publishing company and the work's creators. Reasons for censoring a work vary, but most of the time is because the publisher aims their product at a younger audience and some minor aspects of the product may need to be toned down to get a lower rating.

A work can only be banned if they feature non-fictitious and explicit portrayals of extreme violence and gore, extreme sexual acts, racism, and/or desecration and/or hate speech and discrimination towards religious people, without any kind of educational context or entertainment value.
The demonym of my country is Ostidian.
My country can be referred to as Fonidia and Osteyon or F&O. Fonidia, Osteyon, "Ostidia", the Union or the Great Union are also acceptable terms.
Full name: The Great Union of Fonidia and Osteyon. RP population: ~74 million. Most of the time, this nation reflects my political and social views
Male, 19 years old, Mexican with Italian heritage, Catholic, centrist, heterosexual. I'm also known as 'szmty'.
Football (soccer), drawing, rock music, video games (top 3: Pokémon, FIFA, GTA). I watch a little anime too (NGE is my favourite).
SJWs, In-your-face bronies, racists, homophobia, anti-theism and anti-religious people, any other stereotype related to neckbeards/fedoras
