Re: National Standards Questionaire

Postby Gynocracy » Sun Aug 09, 2009 2:04 pm

National Standards - a list of questions about certain Standards & Legalities for your nation- far more defining than the three NS standards:

The Queendom of Gynocracy

1 - What is the legal drinking age?

For Females, there is no minimum age at which they may be permitted to consume alcohol.

For males, the minimum legal drinking age is 40.

2 - Driving age?

The minimum age at which Females are permitted to drive is set at 12.

The minimum age at which males are permitted to drive is set at 25.

3 - Age of sexual consent?

We interpret 'consent' in our own unique way in Gynocracy.

A Female, being a member of the Superior Sex, does not 'consent' to sexual activity; She instructs a male that She wishes to engage in sex.

A male is not permitted to initiate sexual overtures as that would be a violation of the laws against sexual harassment for which the punishment would of course be death.

In terms of the minimum age at which a Female may initiate sexual approaches to a male, the law (which is currently being reviewed by the Supreme Court following an appeal case filed by an 11-year old girl) currently permits it to commence at the age of 12.

4 - Voting age?

Females are permitted to vote from the age of 12 in local and national elections.

They are also permitted to vote in some minor civic areas from the age of 8.

By contrast, males are not permitted to vote at any age.

5 - At what age would someone become an adult (free from parental control)? -

The legal age of majority for Females is set at 12 (though this is being reviewed by the Legislative Commission).

A male, by contrast, NEVER attains the age of majority or the status of adulthood.

6 - What types of recreational drugs (if any) are legal? -

All forms of drugs are legal within Gynocracy and there are no penalties either for possession or selling them.

The most popular drugs are of course alcohol, tobacco, marijuana, amphetamines, cocaine, heroin and LSD.

7 - Can people have guns?

All Females are permitted to own and carry guns or indeed any other weapon of their choice.

All males, except for those serving in the military or police force, are forbidden to own or possess weapons.

8 - What is the official full name of your country?

The Queendom of Gynocracy.
What is the informal name?

Gynocracy

What are people of your nation called

Formal: Supreme Sacred Gynocrats (Females), Servants of the Supreme Sacred Gynocrats (males)

Informal: Gynocrats (Females), Gynocratians (males)

Citizens: Gynocratians

9 - Do you have the death penalty? Yes, and it is used for a very wide range of offences.

10 - What is the speed limit?

We do not have any speed limits on our roads.

11 - What types of religions would are permitted or restricted?

The only permitted religion is the worship of Her Magnificence Queen Saint Linda the Magnificent

12- Porn - any pornography involving paedophilia is illegal, as is any pornography that involves rape or that in any way could be considered demeaning to Females or treating them as sex objects

13-Prostitution -

Illegal and punishable with heavy prison sentences if an offender is caught.

14-Polygamy/ Polyandry/ Polyamory -

Females are permitted to take as many husbands or lovers as they wish.
By contrast, males are never permitted to have more than one wife or lover.

15-Homosexuality -

Legal for Females, illegal for males.

16-Stem cell research -

Illegal

17-Human Cloning - Illegal

18-Cock Fighting? Illegal

19-Slavery? -

Females may never be subjected to slavery under any circumstances.

By contrast, males may become slaves if they break the law, fall into debt, or offend against the Code of Conduct laid down for them by the members of the Superior Female Gender.

20-Hunting?

Legal

21-Fishing - Legal

22-Eating meat? The norm though vegetarianism and veganism are not illegal.

23-Littering? The laws against littering are severe and the punishment is a public flogging for offenders.

24-Unisex bathrooms ? No

25-Suicide? - Not illegal but uncommon

Euthanasia is illegal

26 - Gay marriage? - Only legal for Females

27-Abortion -

Only allowed if the mother's life is at risk or if the pregnancy arose from rape or incest. Otherwise it is treated as murder and the aborter and the abortion provider will be executed for murder.

28- What types of sexual activity (if any) are illegal ? For Females, only paedophilia. For males, rape, paedophilia, homosexuality, and male dominant sexual activity.

29-Is your country's/culture clothing optional or mandatory?

Gynocracy adopts a policy of compulsory nudity.

30-Do you have obscenity laws? If so - how would you define "obscene".

Yes, we do. Anything that is considered to demean, controvert or take away from the Superior status of Females is considered obscene under the laws of Gynocracy.

31-What system do you have for taxes?

- Income tax?

Females pay a flat rate of 20% income tax.

By contrast, males are taxed on a sliding scale ranging from as low at 25% to as high as 95%.

31aSales tax? A flat rate sales tax of 1% is levied on all products and services.

31bImport/Export tax? Yes, for friendly countries this tax is set at 10% but for hostiles the rate rises to 80%.

32-What is the criterion for someone to pass to become a citizen?

They must be Female (no male can ever become a citizen, simply a subject.)

Females must also perform four years of Duty Service when they leave school, one in the armed forces, one in the police, one in the prison service and one in the Department of Labour.

They are also required to pass our Citizenship Test and swear undying alleigance to Her Magnificence Queen Linda and Her heirs in perpetuity.

33-What types of people do you allow (or not allow) into your country?

Any but we monitor foreign visitors and residents closely with a view to preventing any kind of terrorist or subversive activities, the penalties for which are of course death.

34-What type of government are you? Modified Elected Autocracy /Dictatorship**

Absolute hereditary monarchy (Princess Sara is the heir apparent to the throne)

35-To what degree is your government allowed to censor or restrict the media?

To whatever extent it feels necessary.

36-Aside from laws - what sort of unofficial (and unenforced) cultural rules and traditions do you have?

It is considered rude to interrupt a Lady.

It is expected that all males will willingly, enthusiastically and immediately open doors or offer their seats on buses, trains, etc., to Females.

It is considered respectful for a male to lower his eyes when addressing or being addressed by a Lady.

1 - What is the legal drinking age?
There is no legal drinking age, but bars and pubs generally refuse admittance to anybody younger then 16.

2 - Driving age?
None, but JDLW employees must be over the age of 18 to drive company vehicles.

3 - Age of sexual consent?
Offically none. However, the ever-roving bands of vigilantes are given a blind eye by offical authorities to enforce their neighborhood laws and company employees are forbidden to date outside of the company, all of whom are typically 18 years of age or older.

4 - Voting age?
The only offical voting is done by the shareholders.

5 - At what age would someone become an adult (free from parental control)?
Depending on the job offer, the minimum is 16. The ages of 18, 21, 25, 41 and 71 are other important benchmarks in society in which increasing rights and privilages are given. Although 16 is the minimum age for most rights, very few individuals are employed untill they reach the age of 18.

6 - What types of recreational drugs (if any) are legal?
Most of them are available for sale through any Joe's Discount Liqour World franchise location and participating government offices.

13-Prostitution
Only sactioned brothels are legal and they are one of the few industries heavily monitored by government functionaries.

Enterprising citizens can make a small fortune for their dependants and adherants by selling all of their organs and their cadavers.

We are a world-class liquor retail outlet running the nation the best we can with the people and shareholder's interests in mind.

My nation is not like my nation page at all, it contradicts itself, we don't EVER eat kangaroos, that's just very sad. Also vegetarianism is compulsory yet it still says it's the nation's favourite main course and all and stuff.

NSQ for the Region of Chidarun

Postby Katrajan » Sun Sep 20, 2009 3:34 am

1 - What is the legal drinking age?
There are no laws addressing that issue. Usually parents and relatives give up forbidding their children to drink between 14 and 16.

2 - Driving age?
16.

3 - Age of sexual consent?
There are, again, no laws addressing that issue. Rape is punished very hard, though, since it belongs to the Zathřa (chidarian codex of capital crimes).

4 - Voting age?
Traditionally 16.

5 - At what age would someone become an adult (free from parental control)?
16, surprisingly.

6 - What types of recreational drugs (if any) are legal?
There are no drug laws in any chidarian society. It is rather social norms than laws that restrict drug use to holidays and clan events.

7 - Can people have guns?
Yes. The old clan structures, combined with the somehow libertarian mentality of chidarians, have made it impossible for any gouvernment to enforce anti-weapon-laws until today.

8 - What is the official full name of your country? What is the informal name? What are people of your nation called?
“Thahaj Vhutarmĭzû Chidarethû” (can be translated as “the common jurisdiction of the Chidarian union”) or just “Chidarun”. Chidarians are called... ehm... Chidarians. In our language “chidar” is a chidarian woman or man, “chidareth” is the name of the chidarian people.

9 - Do you have the death penalty?
No.

10 - What is the speed limit?
Never heard of.

11 - What types of religions are permitted or restricted?
Since Chidarun is ethnically very homogenuous, people mostly follow one of the many traditions of the majaram (“Spirituality, Philosophy”), a very old system that arised from an archaic sun cult. The Majaram is not a prosyletizing system, though. Chidarians usually do not really care about a foreigner’s religion. So there are no restrictions.

Which of the following are be legal:

12- Porn - legal

13-Prostitution – legal

14-Polygamy/ Polyandry/ Polyamory – not illegal, but unknown.

15-Homosexuality – allowed, widely respected, but also discriminated in some regions and under some Majaram-Traditions

16-Stem cell research - legal.

17-Human Cloning – unknown.

18-Slavery? – Has always been illegal among chidarians. For about 120 years it is also illegal to enslave foreigners.

19-Hunting?
Within clan regions.

20-Fishing –
Within clan waters.

21-Eating meat? Why not?

22-Suicide? – Has been common in times of starvation and war. Very seldom nowadays.

23 - Gay marriage? – see above.

24-Abortion – legal.

25- What types of sexual activity (if any) are illegal ? Nothing except for rape.

26-Is your country's/culture clothing optional or mandatory?
Nowadays chidarians look like people elsewhere on the world, apart from their typical phenotype (e.g. brown hair, green eyes, slightly darker complexion than whites). On holidays wearing of traditional attire is very common, also among young people.

27-What system do you have for taxes?
Depends on the regions. Mostly there is a flat tax and a small income tax. Small sales taxes exist, too.

28-What is the criterion for someone to pass to become a citizen?
Speaking the chidarian language properly and having lived in Chidarian lands for 5 years at least.

29-What types of people do you allow (or not allow) into your country?
There are no specific laws who may visit Chidarun and who may not.

30-What type of government are you?
Chidarun is a Federal Republic holding subsidiarity very dear.

31-To what degree is your government allowed to censor or restrict the media?
Not at all.

32-Aside from laws - what sort of unofficial (and unenforced) cultural rules and traditions do you have? For example –
...do not refuse an invitation if you don’t have a really good excuse. This is perceived as very offensive.
...be generous. If you have, you give. If you don’t have, don’t take over the top, but don’t feel bad taking.
...pregnant women in the 6th month or at the latest in the 8th month are kind of sacrosanct. They must not work, enjoy helpful treatment wherever they go. Chidarians would never sit if this means a pregnant woman has to stand or let her wait in a line, just to mention two examples from alldays life what Chidarians feel obliged to do. The “Holiness” of pregnancy is deeply embedded in the Majaram and thus part of a Chidarians way of thinking and feeling.
...Chidarians love specific music events called Churu, where people sit down on carpets and pillows and drink tea and gath (a heavy drink) around a round stage, listening to the hours-long chants of traditional singers called Vharaja. Inviting your heart throb to a Churu is considerd to be quite intimate and meaning it seriously. Chidarians use to pop the question on Churus.

1 - What is the legal drinking age? Valikans drink at all ages, though the Party has fixed the official age recently at 16.
2 - [b]Driving age?
16 for non-members of the Communist Youth League. 14 for members.

3 - Age of sexual consent? The technical age of consent is 16, but again members of the Communist Youth League are not prosecuted for such acts. In other cases, it depends on political loyalty as determined by the People's Commissariat for Security and Order.

4 - [b]Voting age? 16 for Party members. 18 for non-Party citizens. All candidates are Party members, so it doesn't matter much, anyway.

5 - [b]At what age would someone become an adult (free from parental control)? 18, though exemptions are granted for those who have completed their service with the Communist Youth League.

6 - [b]What types of recreational drugs (if any) are legal? none, though in many cases, trusted Party members can get off with the proverbial slap on the wrist because of their known loyalty and quality.

[b]-Pot
- banned and punishable by 5 years of imprisonment at hard labor...Party members are often given special treatment, of course. Connections improve one's chances in general.

- Tobacco - legal only when sold by heavily taxed, state-run "vice" stores. Tobacco racketeering and illegal use are punishable by 5 years of hard labor.

- Cocaine - completely banned and punishable by 10 years of imprisonment at hard labor. Considered especially taboo, even for Party members, because of its traditional association with the upper class/former elite.

-Alcohol - legal to use, especially for Party members; drunk driving, however, is a capital offense. Moderately taxed.

- LSD - banned and punishable by internal exile in a labor camp for 15 years. Punished with special severity due to its traditional links to New Age mysticism.

- Caffeine - perfectly legal as a "productive" drug, though only available in state-sanctioned/run cafes. Moderately taxed.

- Heroin - banned under penalty of death. Believed to be a particularly lethal drug, due to its risks of infection from IV use.

- Other? methamphetamine use is also a capital offense...not even Party members are exempt from this law and its enforcement.

7 - Can people have guns? private ownership of firearms is only legal with a license, which requires Party membership and a proven record of loyalty to the state. Unlicensed use/possession is punishable by death.

8 - What is the official full name of your country? The United Socialist States of South Valik

What is the informal name? South Valik

What are people of your nation called? South Valikans/Valikans

9 - [b]Do you have the death penalty?
Yes, for many crimes, especially those involving subversive activity and hard drugs.

10 - What is the speed limit? the absolute speed limit on all roads is 100 mph; the average one is 75 mph; the urban one is 50 mph.

11 - What types of religions would are permitted or restricted? technically legal, but strongly discouraged and religious instruction prior to age 16 is strictly illegal.

Which of the following are be legal:

12- Porn - only state-approved, censored smut sold at "vice" stores is legal; depictions of pedophilia, rape, BDSM, bestiality, cross-dressing, incest, and male homosexuality are banned, but the black market often gets around the law when it has the protection of certain Party members.

13-Prostitution - legal in special districts through state-sanctioned "waivers" and "contracts", but the Party whitewashes the practice through euphemisms and placing approved brothels in out-of-the-way sectors that the state-controlled media and press don't inquire about. Black market prostitution is also common, but equally discreet. The Party is embarrassed more by the commercial aspects of prostitution than by any supposed moral taboos.

14-Polygamy/ Polyandry/ Polyamory - the marital form is illegal, but many men have mistresses, especially top Party officials. The practice is winked at by the state, of course.

15-Homosexuality - banned and punishable by assignment to a penal battalion if caught. However, certain Party members are able to hush things up through discreet influence and connections.

16-Stem cell research -illegal except in state-sanctioned laboratories

17-Human Cloning - strictly illegal...though there are rumors that the Party is getting around its own laws.

18-Cock Fighting? formally banned, though there are rumors of secret cock-fighting clubs winked at by the authorities.

19-Slavery? -officially, illegal. Unofficially, the biggest slaveholder (and indeed the only one truly accepted by the regime) is the state itself. Dissidents and criminals are often consigned to forced labor projects/camps which amount to slavery.

20-Hunting? legal with license, but those are only granted to Party members of proven reliability and those who have shown that they can be trusted with firearms.

21-Fishing - legal only with licenses and Party membership.

22-Eating meat? perfectly legal, though Party members have better access to higher quality and quantity of meat.

23-Littering? punishable by six months of hard labor

24-Unisex bathrooms ? banned under penalty of revoked state approval....yet there are rumors of secret nightclubs where they are all the rage. The government explicitly denies this, of course. ;)

25-Suicide? - legal only with terminal illness; where illegal, it is deemed murder and punishable by death.

26 - Gay marriage? - since homosexuality is a crime, gay marriage is as well.

27-Abortion - legal, but strictly watched by the State and Party. Only state-run hospitals may perform them. Family-planning clinics are banned under penalty of death.

28- What types of sexual activity (if any) are illegal ? rape, homosexuality, pedophilia, incest, necrophilia, bestiality, and cross-dressing.

29-Is your country's/culture clothing optional or mandatory? nudity is only legal in state-run striptease joints and on state-approved nude beaches, which are closely watched by the State and have a cover charge.

30-Do you have obscenity laws? yes, because the State disapproves of homosexuality and certain other practices being depicted.

31-[b]What system do you have for taxes?

- Income tax? 10% income tax.

31aSales tax? 25% sales tax

31bImport/Export tax? 50% import duty

32-What is the criterion for someone to pass to become a citizen? You must be born or naturalized in South Valik. The latter requires an oath of allegiance to the State and Party, and avowed Communist beliefs.

33-[b]What types of people do you allow (or not allow) into your country?
able-bodied, law-abiding, disease-free Communists

34-What type of government are you? Communist, one-party state.

35-To what degree is your government allowed to censor or restrict the media? when anti-Party, anti-state rhetoric and propaganda, unapproved porn, satire, or religious messages are being presented.

36-[b]Aside from laws - previously rather religious and moralistic....now atheistic and moralistic. At least where homosexuality is concerned.

[quote="Tanaara";p="1582"]National Standards - a list of questions about certain Standards & Legalities for your nation- far more defining than the three NS standards:

The Domination of Tanaara.

1 - What is the legal drinking age? 13

2 - Driving age? 13, although most opt for mass transit whenever possible. Too much reliance on motor vehicles is viewed as wasteful and inefficient.

3 - Age of sexual consent? 13 for all forms of legal intercourse.

4 - Voting age? none, since there are no elections

5 - At what age would someone become an adult (free from parental control)? - 13 to 16 is an intermediate stage, which enables the youth to prepare for full adulthood. 16 is the age of majority.

6 - What types of recreational drugs (if any) are legal? - most are illegal and result in commitment to a psych ward or at least mandatory counseling and a hefty fee to pay for costs of hospitalization. Some, such as tobacco, alcohol, and marijuana are legal, taxed, and regulated at the age of 13.

-Pot - legal, regulated, and taxed. Use under certain conditions (such as driving) is banned, however, on pain of death.

- Tobacco - heavily taxed, regulated, and shunned, but nominally legal.

- Cocaine - banned under penalty of mandatory counseling/hospitalization

-Alcohol - legal and accepted when indulged in moderation; drunk driving is a capital offense, however, and alcoholism results in mandatory psych evaluations.

- LSD - banned under penalty of mandatory counseling and hospitalization in a psych facility

- Caffeine - legal and accepted in moderation...lightly taxed, barely regulated.

- Heroin - banned under penalty of mandatory counseling and commitment to a psychiatric hospital

- Other? depends on the drug and its side effects; most prescription drugs are heavily regulated due to certain side effects from pharmaceuticals

7 - Can people have guns? all male citizens who can pass a psych exam and volunteer for the milita/reserve; women are not trusted with firearms

8 - What is the official full name of your country? The Commonwealth of Macureus

What is the informal name? Macureus or the Commonwealth

What are people of your nation called: Macureans.

9 - [b]Do you have the death penalty?
Yes

10 - What is the speed limit? differs, depending on the traffic zones, though Macureans are very fond of mass transit and use it whenever possible anyway

11 - What types of religions would are permitted or restricted? religion is legal, but unofficially shunned as being irrational. The vast majority of Macureans are militant atheists and proud of it...the State likes it that way.

Which of the following are be legal:

12- Porn - images of pedophillia & rape are illegal...and that's it. Everything else is perfectly legal.

13-Prostitution - Heavily regulated and lightly taxed. Private brothels must meet basic standards and their owners pass psychological exams to gain and keep licenses.

14-Polygamy/ Polyandry/ Polyamory - open marriage is far more common than either monogamy or polygamy, since Macureans prefer marriages of convenience and regularly engage in casual, promiscuous sex, regardless of marital status.

15-Homosexuality - perfectly legal, as Macureans have no qualms about it.

16-Stem cell research - normal and respected scientific research is always acceptable and legal.

17-Human Cloning - Regulated, oversighted and clones have full legal rights, not often done.

18-Cock Fighting? deemed vulgar and shunned, but not technically a crime.

19-Slavery? - illegal per se, but often practiced de facto as a criminal penalty under the guise of community service.

20-Hunting? when practical and there is no shortage of game

21-Fishing - when practical and there is no shortage of marine life

22-Eating meat? normal as a part of a balanced and nutritious diet, consumed in moderation as gluttony is deemed irrational.

23-Littering? punishable by a fine as a crime against the aesthetic and financial value of property, both public and private.

24-Unisex bathrooms ? normal and accepted as a matter of course

25-Suicide? - when necessary and practical, it is acceptable...when a sign of mental illness, it must be stopped to allow time for recovery and/or treatment

26 - Gay marriage? - completely legal, as Macureans have no irrational fear of homosexuality or attachment to a "sacred institution".

27-Abortion - banned except when truly necessary to save the mother, such as ectopic pregnancy.

28- What types of sexual activity (if any) are illegal ? rape, pedophilia, bestiality, and necrophilia (the latter two more on sanitary grounds than any moral qualms).

29-Is your country's/culture clothing optional or mandatory? very much optional, except that in the harsh Macurean winter, it is deemed irrational to go nude.

30-Do you have obscenity laws? no obscenity laws, since obscenity is not a concept which concerns or troubles Macureans.

31-[b]What system do you have for taxes?

- Income tax? income taxes fluctuate as necessary for government revenue

31aSales tax? 10% of all goods and services, except for certain higher risk products, such as tobacco.

31bImport/Export tax? Varies on the product and where it is going to or coming from.

32-What is the criterion for someone to pass to become a citizen? besides being born into Macurean society, anyone who expresses an interest, is willing to obey our laws, and passes the necessary psychological evaluations is a candidate for immigration and naturalization...provided that they don't pose a security risk in some way. Their visas and work permits depend on their specialties and skills.

33-What types of people do you allow (or not allow) into your country? those who do not present a security risk to us. Impractical concern with "rights" are seen as unreasonable.

34-What type of government are you? philosopher-scientist-technocratic oligarchy

35-To what degree is your government allowed to censor or restrict the media? When it is deemed a security risk of more harm than any damage caused by censorship. When it is logical or reasonable to do so.

36-[b]Aside from laws - Macureans are very focused on logic, reason, and science. Intellectual curiosity is deemed good. Religious piety is deemed bad. Psychological examinations are common and even de rigeur for promotion and hiring, especially in key positions. Prudery is viewed as a sentimental nonsense, but germophobia is the one fear that Macureans all embrace without question.
Socially quite liberal, economically a bit more authoritarian. Not a fan of organized religion or traditional family values or the present social order. You've been warned.
"Audacity, audacity, this day, audacity, forever audacity!" - Georges Danton
"It is with regret that we pronounce the fatal truth. Louis must die so that France may live." - Maximilien Robespierre
"I did not seize the crown. I found it in the gutter and picked it up." - Napoleon Bonaparte

1 - What is the legal drinking age? 15. They're going to do it anyway, might as well make it legal. Besides, legal adulthood (age of sexual consent) is determined by biophysical development, so people start having sex before they start drinking.

2 - Driving age? 15, though cars are rather unpopular as a method of transport in most areas (people prefer horses or, in the case of magic-users, teleportation).

3 - Age of sexual consent? Varies wildly between 11 and 16, depending on how quickly the person in question achieves the biophysical markers of sexual maturity. Once a person reaches an animal state of adulthood, they are also recognized as being legal adults.

4 - Voting age? Anyone who has been declared a legal adult can vote (see age of sexual consent). We do not impose arbitrary numerical limits unless it is absolutely necessary.

5 - At what age would someone become an adult (free from parental control)? - Depends on species, and on how quickly individuals of that species develop. Humans have achieved this at as young as 10.

6 - What types of recreational drugs (if any) are legal? - Any that are not smoked. Smoking in any form is illegal, as it pollutes the air and contributes to the degradation of the environment.

-Pot - Legal only in non-smoked form (pot brownies, etc.)

- Tobacco - Chewing tobacco is legal but extremely unpopular... smoking tobacco is illegal.

- Cocaine - Snorting and shooting are legal, smoking isn't.

-Alcohol - Legal, though if you drive drunk you are indentured to the automobile manufacturing industry for use as a crash test dummy

- LSD - Legal, quite popular

- Caffeine - Legal, but restricted in areas with dense Elf/Sidhe populations since it is toxic to them

- Heroin - Legal, but not very popular due to its side effects

- Other? - Ecstasy is the drug of choice in New Olwe. Several other drugs are legal as well. Crack and meth are illegal, since you have to smoke them.

7 - Can people have guns? Not unless they've been in the military... if you serve your country you get to keep your gear, as well as whatever you take off of the bodies of your enemies. But ordinary citizens have to make do with swords, knives and axes, which are all readily available to them.

8 - What is the official full name of your country? What is the informal name? What are people of your nation called? Formal: The Grand Duchy of New Olwe// Informal: Olwe or New Olwe / Citizens: Olweans

9 - Do you have the death penalty? Yes

10 - What is the speed limit? There is none, although severe penalties exist for reckless driving (darting in and out of lanes, turning without a signal, texting/phoning while driving, etc.).

11 - What types of religions would are permitted or restricted? All are permitted, and the government is officially pantheistic.

Which of the following are be legal:

12- Porn - Not only legal, but one of our largest industries.

13-Prostitution - Our other major industry. We have a theme park modeled after Gomorrah.

14-Polygamy/ Polyandry/ Polyamory - Far more common than monogamy- Polyamory makes up some 90% of all Unions in New Olwe

15-Homosexuality - Since about 70% of the population is bi, I'd say homosexuality is legal.

16-Stem cell research - Legal, but regulated to prevent Frankensteinesque mishaps.

17-Human Cloning - Technically legal, but never done. We aren't quite there yet technologically.

18-Cock Fighting? Falls under animal cruelty statutes, meaning that people who engage in it are fed to the animals they've been cruel to (in other words, illegal).

19-Slavery? - Illegal, even in the form of marriage... marriages have to be open in order to be officially recognized by our government, because monogamy entails the treatment of another human being as property.

20-Hunting? Done humanely and only for food. Heavily regulated.

21-Fishing - See above.

22-Eating meat? Legal, though about half of the population is vegetarian/vegan.

23-Littering? Considered high treason, carries the death penalty.

24-Unisex bathrooms? Is there another variety?

25-Suicide? - Legal, but doesn't happen very often. Euthanasia is far more common, and also legal.

26 - Gay marriage? - Legal, but most gays really don't see the point since the existing marriage laws encourage polyamory.

27-Abortion - Legal.

28- What types of sexual activity (if any) are illegal? Rape, pedophilia.

29-Is your country's/culture clothing optional or mandatory? Optional.

30-Do you have obscenity laws? If so - how would you define "obscene". - No. Obscenity is an outdated Christian concept that has no place in the modern world.

31-What system do you have for taxes? No income tax on citizens, residents pay what they can afford (the wealthy are taxed higher), foreign nationals fall under their own country's tax code

31aSales tax? No sales tax on food or other necessities (since clothing is optional, it is not considered a necessity), flat 15% sales tax on everything else.

31bImport/Export tax? Varies on the product and where it is going to or coming from.

32-What is the criterion for someone to pass to become a citizen? Anyone born here is granted citizenship, anyone from another country must pass the citizenship exam.

33-What types of people do you allow (or not allow) into your country? Any, but be warned that discrimination -- including attempts to proselytize our citizens -- is punishable by exile. If you won't tolerate us, we're not about to tolerate you.

34-What type of government are you? Liberal, semi-socialist autocracy

35-To what degree is your government allowed to censor or restrict the media? Censorship violates our constitution, is considered treason, and is punishable by death. Nobody, not even the national leader, may censor the media. That being said, freedom of the press has its limits and Princess Di-style harassment is punished very harshly.

36-Aside from laws - what sort of unofficial (and unenforced) cultural rules and traditions do you have? There are no civil courts in New Olwe... citizens settle their disputes honorably on the field of battle in moderated duels. It is not technically illegal to decline a challenge to a duel, but the stigma of cowardice will follow you for a long time if you do so. Also, it is the traditional method of greeting in New Olwe to passionately kiss strangers when meeting them for the first time. Kisses between relatives or other people who know each other well need not involve tongue, as they are just a formality... however, most people still use the French variety of kissing even for family members. Offering a handshake instead of a kiss is considered the height of rudeness and prudery, and shaking the label of "prude" is extremely difficult in New Olwe. Also, breast milk is sacred and people regularly drink it.
Magic-using nation here! I don't RP in MT.

1-What is the legal drinking age? - 20 years

2-Driving age? - Many Hodoran cities are typically too crowded for personal automobiles and public transit or walking is prefered, but one may drive with a licensed driver with a permit after passing written and driving tests after 15 years of age and may drive unrestricted with a license after 20.

3-Age of sexual consent? - 15 at the lowest, but may vary in different islands.

6-What types of recreational drugs (if any) are legal? - Drugs that inhibit rational thought or can lead to death are extremely heavily regulated or banned.

-Pot - Heavily regulated. Use is allowed if a medical benefit can be proven to be a result of use. Smoking is not the preferred method of consumption.

-Tobacco - Heavily regulated. Use is generally frowned upon, especially in cities, but is not banned in areas with a low population density.

-Cocaine - Heavily regulated.

-Alcohol - Heavily regulated, but not banned.

-LSD - Heavily regulated.

-Caffeine - Regulated, but not to the extent of other drugs due to the near inevitability of contact with caffeine, but drinks with high quantities of caffeine cannot be sold.

-Heroin - Heavily regulated, prescription use only and in small doses.

-Other? - Hallucinogens or other drugs that may impair rational mental function and/or potentially cause harm to others with misuse are heavily regulated and often confiscated and destroyed in the safest way possible.

9-Do you have the death penalty? - Yes, for war crimes (defined in Hodori as torture of enemy personnel or POWs, intentionally killing unarmed citizens, or intentionally killing one's own team mates) and non-consensual slayings outside normal military action or self-defense. Executions are typically done via two shots to the back of the head (in case the first one fails to kill) or being used for live testing of higher-lethality weaponry ("higher lethality" being defined as "victim is dead within five seconds or less").

10-What is the speed limit? - There is no official upper speed limit on Hodoran highways, but personal vehicles are expected to move no slower than 80 km/h. On roads with many hairpin turns or blind conditions, it is not recommended to exceed 75 km/h. In urban areas, the maximum speed limit is 50 km/h.

17-Human Cloning - Restricted. Cloning of individual organs from one's cells for medical purposes is allowed.

18-Cock Fighting? - Inhumane treatment of anything living is frowned upon in Hodori.

20-Hunting? - Hodori allows hunting for food outside populated zones, if there is space. Hunting for sport is restricted unless the meat and hide of the hunted animal is put to use.

21-Fishing - Recreational fishing is unrestricted, barring certain species of fish. Commercial fishing requires a license. (Hodori is spread across an arcepelago...)

22-Eating meat? - Regulated in the sense that animals raised for food are expected to be treated and slaughtered humanely (i.e., as painlessly as possible)

23-Littering? - Frowned upon.

24-Unisex bathrooms ? - Seen in some places.

27-Abortion - Abortion is an option available to pregnant females. Any salvageable stem cells from the aborted fetus will be donated for research at her request.

28- What types of sexual activity (if any) are illegal ? - Obvious sexual acts are frowned upon in public. What one does in the privacy of their home is of no concern of the government.

29-Is your country's/culture clothing optional or mandatory? - Wearing clothing in public is expected.

30-Do you have obscenity laws? If so - how would you define "obscene". - Torture and sadistic actions that leave the victim suffering until death are considered obscene.

31-What system do you have for taxes? - Hodori uses a graduated income tax, with citizens paying a certain percentage of their income as tax.

31aSales tax? - Sales taxes are at the discretion of the vendor, with a 1% government tax imposed on items worth 1,000Kr or more

31bImport/Export tax? - Hodori does not impose tariffs on imports or exports for items worth less than 1,000Kr. For items worth 1,000Kr or more, a 1% tariff is to be paid.

32-What is the criterion for someone to pass to become a citizen? - One must be literate in Modern Hodoran or must take classes to learn the written language. One must agree to serve in the armed forces branch of their choice should a draft become necessary (unlikely). One must understand and agree to follow the laws of Hodori and those of individual provinces.

33-What types of people do you allow (or not allow) into your country? - Hodori does not discriminate based on religion, ethnicity, gender, or sexual orientation. Immigration may be restricted if there is a viable security threat or a war.

34-What type of government are you? - Representative Democracy

35-To what degree is your government allowed to censor or restrict the media? - The government does not restrict the media unless ongoing or future military plans are involved.

36-Aside from laws - what sort of unofficial (and unenforced) cultural rules and traditions do you have? For example – Upon becoming an adult, one is expected to serve in the armed forces if mentally able. If mentally and physically able, one is expected to serve in an active combat role in times of war. Other cultural expectations are to continue a family tradition and to follow their ancestors or seek new opportunities. One is expected to take part in traditional Hodoran festivites following certain events (i.e., a significantly large catch, a good agricultural yeild, festivals after elections to local and federal Councils, etc.). Hodorans are expected to show respect to their family, their elders, the community, and their superiors and subordinates.

1 - What is the legal drinking age? There is no legal drinking age, however anyone found to be endangering a minor (minors become adults when emancipated by their guardians or at age 16, whichever is first) is open to legal/civil action from the guardians of the minor and this includes serving alcohol until the minor is drunk.

2 - Driving age? This varies from road/transport corporation to corporation. The three largest private road companies require all vehicle operators to be at least 14 years of age and pass a driving test administered by the Standards and Practices Corporation.

3 - Age of sexual consent? Classification as an adult or consent of the minor's legal guardians. This consent must be notarized prior to any sexual act to have any legal validity.

4 - Voting age? Classification as an an adult; anyone who is currently in prison or serving a work sentence forfeits his or her voting privileges until such sentence has been completed.

5 - At what age would someone become an adult (free from parental control)? A person of age 16 is considered an adult, however if both parents/guardians and child agree, the child may become emancipated at any age.

6 - What types of recreational drugs (if any) are legal? All, however the use of recreational drugs is generally shunned by society and almost every employer refuses to hire those who cannot pass a drug test.
