How Do your police Disperse Rioters?

The old fashion way! Tear gas, rubber bullets and battons (Launched), water cannons with oliocacacian resin in it (pepper spray), mounted troops on horses and half mad, half starved dogs; usually pit bulls and rottwhilers!

If you don't run you deserve what you get! If you do run the dogs will get you! Best that you never came out at all! Don't even come to take pictures! The dogs don't care! If you don't smell like a POU officer you will be attacked!

Special riot officers known as Kidotai are deployed to the area.

Kidotai wear flame-retardant dark blue coveralls, helmets with face shields and heavy body armor for protection. They do not carry firearms, but instead wield long batons and aluminum shields. They use shield-wall tactics to prevent protestors from moving out of an area and will make forcible arrests if needed. They mostly attempt to contain the violence or vandalism to a confined location instead of trying to disperse rioters.

Water cannon trucks are placed behind police lines and baton rounds may be fired if the rioting gets especially violent.

Depending on the size of the riots:

Small scale: Mass arrests, intimidating force of numbers, small-scale tear gas dispersal.
Medium scale: As above with specifically targeted arrests of leaders, rubber ammunition, smoke grenades, moderate-scale tear gas dispersal.
Large scale: As above with aerial tear gas dispersal over the riot area with potential for armed forces intervention.

Small Scale: Non-Lethal force used, Koy People's Armed Police Officers attack the rioters head on with melee weapons, tear gas, and use of rubber weaponry from snipers. Watercannons unleashed on crowds beforehand. Members later indetified and arrested. Leaders executed.
Medium Scale: Use of Lethal Force, fire rifles and machineguns into crowds, Leaders specifically targetted for kills. survivors later identified and arrested.
Large Scale: Extreme use of Lethal Force, Rifle and Machinegun fire into crowds, use of vehicle-mounted machinguns, use of explosives, in extreme cases helicopter or APC support called in to cause as many casulties as possible to rioters. All survivors later tracked down and executed.

Rubber bullets, water hoses, and tear gas (small riots) or real bullets (large riots)

The police contain the rioters into a single area by blocking off all applicable streets or avenues in the 'riot zone' and wait it out. If the rioters try to challenge the police they can use non-lethal force and weaponry.

Ordering them to leave. Then Tear gas. Then Riot Police. If we need to, we call in the military. If the Velites, Hastati and Celeres fail to deal with it, nerve gas.

Acerbic defines a riot as when various protesting individuals destroy property or harming people.

The police officers of our nation first issue a peaceful warning to the rioters. If it doesn't work, then large concentrations of tazers are used to slow down the rioters. If necessary, the national guard are called in to rid the streets of the rioters.

We utilize tear gas, water cannons and rubber bullets and a good old fashioned beating to deal with riots.

Usually police officer or elderly lady shaming and scolding rioters is enough to disperse most riots.

We use loud speakers, and play awful music; when that fails we use peper spray. When that fails, we use rubber bullets.

several Peacekeeper APCs with a mounted sonic cannon (they exist) surrounded by riot police surround the rioters and unleash the sonic blasts. the protesters, now having their ears in pain would normally run in all directions making it easier for riot police to arrest them.

if the protesters bring goggles, masks, and ear protection the riot police are authorized to use force: this means rubber bullets, tranquilizers, tazers, teargas, batons, etc

We give them several warnings to leave quietly and peacfully with the Peacekeeping division of the Armed Forces sitting on buildings surrounding the riot with high powered rifles. However, we do not waste time and if they ignore warnings we start firing bullets, and in major cases, artillery into the crowd until they disperse.

When it becomes a riot, the police have had their chance to try and cool things down, they call it in and withdraw, then the Euronion Police Force calls in the National Guard (if the riot is in the capital then it is the Republican Guard as the ProConsul's safety may be threatened) and we box them in until they quite down, any rioter who attempts to break past will be incapacitated by any means necessary, usually a shot to the leg or the but of a rifle in the stomach, non-fatal spots are targeted, however deadly force is authorized should the riot turn out of hand, if there are any hostages then the Euronion Special Forces are called in to save the hostages, they are ordered to save them at all costs. Euronion encourages people's right to protest and to free speech, but rioting is a threat not only to the rioters themselves but also those around them, not to mention the damage to both state and private property that usually follows, and therefore must be dealt with immediately.

I dont know. We dont tend to have many rioters, but its usually left in the hands of the local police force to do whatever, matching the crowd level of agression.

am i the only one here concerned about the excessive use of force for dealing with rioters?

tear gas, water and sonic cannons, etc are fine

High powered rifles, artilery, live ammunition - don't you think a little bit too hash and costly?

While peaceable protests are perfectly allowable in Lost Earth, sometimes, especially in the agrarian districts, the protests rapidly devolve into a purposeless riot that is often violent. Hopefully, a Judiciary Field Agent will be present and they will use their power to "neutralize" those lead protestors who are particularly disruptive and are instigating the rabble, quickly frightening the crowd into submission. However, if a JDF is not present, which is often the case, Lost Earth local police forces make use of tazers, riot shields, clubs, and if still not effective fire arms. If a rebellion seems to be occurring, several JDFs, Army ground troops, or National Militia unites from another region will be used to quell it with force, deadly force.

Local security drones are activated(similar in concept to the drones from the "Portal" games) who then proceed to kill anyone in the riot zone. If, for any reason the drones are destroyed or malfunctioning, the Police Guard (who perform the roles of both National Guard and police force) will deploy to kill any resistance. Anyone who surrenders will be put on trial, and will either be sentenced to death or life in prison camps. Public areas are constantly monitored by security cameras. Opposition to the government is not taken lightly.

The normal way to disperse troublesome mobs is to charge them with cavalry armed with sabres as infantry and moves in behind them to take care of wounded and to make damn sure that the mob does not reform by arresting everyone they can get their hands on.

Itanica believes firmly in the idea of free speech and holds it dear as one of the founding principles of the nation. However, a riot goes far beyond "free speech". When property of the citizens or Government starts getting destroyed, we start getting pissed off and deter them at any means necessary. We have used artillery once in the past during the last riot outside the Grand Hall of The People. Noone rioted since. It is an extremely effective and long lasting method of riot control.

Sure the initial cost of the Artillery is high, but after that you will never have to pay for a riot ever again.

Oh, and the artillery isn't military-grade shit. It's a lot less powerful, but enough to cause several hundred injuries. No deaths from it unless it literally hits you on the noggin.
The high powered rifles, however, are straight from the Armed Forces. 2010 Itanican Standard Sniper Systems. However, older systems are in widespread use amongst Peacekeeping forces as they receive the least of the Military funding.

E-lands takes special action to violent riots.

If it is small, local police forces break it up using batons and pepper spray.

If it is large, SWAT-like teams come out with anti-riot equipment such as rubber bullets and riot shields, while local police barricade the area.

If it is so large that either it cannot be controlled with SWAT teams or it is turning into rebellion, the military is called in and they are authorized to use deadly force. So far this has never happened.

not at all, riots inheritantly are costly so we would actually be saving money by doing this, second any harshness is in a direct response to the harshness of the rioters, they are not children, they have the thought to bring intentional harm to people and therefore they are a danger to others and must be treated as such, if it involves getting shot then it is your own fault, you shouldn't have rioted, Euronion has had no riots in the past 50 years or so, the only ones then were in the South during a communist revolution, and when the Euronion Armed Forces took back the South and occupied it

Euronion tried using the loud speakers to play awful music as well once, but Justin Beiber's "Baby Baby Baby" was not enough to quell the communist rioters who fought on
