The Imperial Militia Service treats riots as rebellions and they put down rioters in much the same way; they kill them with a vigorous application of small arms fire. The utilization of deadly force is the default response, not one that is graduated to. If the stupid peasants wanted to live, they would not have risen up.

In most cases the police wouldn't even be needed, because armed citizens would put an end to the rioting rather quickly. In Slovonia, if somebody tries to break into an occupied building or vehicle, the occupants have every right to use whatever force to repel the invasion. That's why nobody in their right mind would think of looting stores, burning cars, and crap like that.

But if a disturbance does grow out of control, then the police will act. The first step is to verbally warn the rioters that increasing force may be used if they don't disperse, using vehicle-mounted loudspeakers. Barricades will be set up, and the crowd will be given 30 minutes to leave the area. If the rioters remain after that time, the police may begin to drive them back using shields and batons. After that, the water cannon and rubber bullets. No live ammunition except for self-defense.

The nuclear option would be to deploy the Imperial Guard. If it ever gets to that point, the rioters have basically signed their own death warrants. Unlike the regular police or army, the Imperial Guard has carte blanche to use lethal force. However, it can only be mobilized with personal authorization from the Empress, unless the riot takes place at a property owned by her.

We have a zero tolerance policy towards rioting and our police are authorized to use all means necessary to get rid of them. And yes, this includes firing indiscriminately into the crowd of rioters to injure or kill them.

Rioting is almost unheard of among Kawaiians, as our culture heavily enforces modesty, politeness, and self-control. Should a group of Kawaiians start acting in a way "injurious to public harmony", they would immediately be confronted by our Happiness Police, who would politely inform them to knock it off before trouble started. If they're foolish enough to ignore a Happiness Policewoman, the roving bands of Lashkar-Tong militiamen that discretely accompany the Happiness Police rather quickly (and painfully) educate the would-be rioters in civilized behavior.

Basically, imagine a bunch of yobs being read the riot act by young ladies in Sailor Moon cosplay outfits, and then beaten up by gangs of kung-fu fighters if they don't show some respect.

Antrian law enforcement officers have access to a variety of non-lethal and less-than-lethal munitions specifically for use in riot control. They also make extensive use of sonic weaponry.

Depends on the circumstances: usually with sheathed sabres and a good bash, but should things escalate the cavalry is called into action... and our cavalry uses armored scout cars these days. To curbstomp rebels is a time-honoured tradition for the Hamidi Ordusu, a massacre the usual response to rebellion. Surprisingly the people rarely ever riot... last time was the Afghan rebellion in 2004. In a few years Kabul might have enough inhabitants again to ensend a new major...
