Sex Changes are legal in Leepaidamba and the state pays a maximum of 20% of the funds needed for a sex change, provided it is the first sex change the person has made. Id est, if a person is born as a man and wishes to become a woman the sex change is partially payed for by the state, but if she then wishes to become a man again she must pay full price. Likewise if a woman wishes to become a man and when he is a man wishes to become a woman again.

It's not illegal, it's impossible. The medical technology does not currently exist to turn a male into a functional female, or vice versa. Purported "sexual reassignment surgery" merely makes the subject artificially intersexed, genetically one sex but with the incompletely functional physiology of the other sex. Legally, and insofar as it actually matters (very little), the subject's sex becomes "other", the same as a naturally intersexed person's.

That said, it's perfectly legal. We just like being accurate about what's happening. If it were to become possible, through medical advancements, to produce a completely functional member of one sex from the raw material of the other, we'd legally recognize that fact, too.

We're not in the habit of paying for our subjects' elective surgery, though. We don't generally fund their medical care in any case, and it would take some serious contrivance to shoehorn sexual reassignment into the categories of surgery that we will pay for, such as care for injuries sustained in the line of duty.

Moralian law does permit sex changes, but they are quite rare. Most of us are reasonably comfortable as God made us.

Sex change is not even possible in the North and the Iron Islands. The technology does not exist.

We don't care. However it is elective surgery. Likely your insurance will not cover it nor will the government. If you want it, you pay for it. Prices are high though. Plus people are usually happy with themselves.

It is highly expensive and finding anyone willing to perform that kind of operation is rare, but it is legal even if it is hardly done in practice as it would more than certainly get one abandoned by ones friends as a horrible abomination against nature and more than likely disowned by ones family for the same reason.

Yes, but it is totally up to you to get the funds for it, so getting a "sex change" is mainly unheard of.

Why would anyone want to change their sex in the first place? Perhaps there are such insane people among humans, but our citizens are completely satisfied with the sex they are born in.

Gender reassignment surgery is completely legal in Aphryss, and highly advanced. Most surgeons will refuse to perform the procedure(s) without confirmation from a qualified psychologist. In cases of genuine gender dysmorphia (as attested by a qualified psychologist) the Royal Medical Authority (Aphryss' public health service) will pay up to 25% of the cost.

Yes, they are allowed to, but not many Nihonicans do it because they're happy with the way they are and also that the government doesn't cover the costs.

Of course it's legal. We Vitaskans prize efficiency and perfection in our pursuits, and such efficiency and perfection is inherently impossible if ones mind and body are not in harmony. If ones mind is female and their body is male or if their mind is male and their body female, there will chaos and turmoil in their lives, and that will always hinder their ability to serve their Holy Empire.

It is legal, but it does come under cosmetic surgery, which means it does not comply to be paid for with the free healthcar scheme, so one would have to contact a plastic surgeon and pay 100% of the fee.

Yes - although it falls under the category of optional cosmetic surgery and thus has to be paid for by the patient.

Pretty common in people who were born 'hard-wired' wrong; actually.

It's not government funded or anything but most insurances pay for operations so we don't need to. Yay privatized healthcare.
