Your military's CEREMONIAL dress

Postby TurtleShroom » Sat Oct 29, 2011 6:45 pm

Ah, ceremonial dress. As if militaries can't get any more manly. Even more freaking awesome/manly/epic than the field uniforms and weapons come the ceremonial wardrobe of your nation's finest.
(As a RL example, the way United States Marines dress in the field- camoflague -and in ceremony- total epicness/manliness -stand apart greatly.)

In NationStates, it seems to me that ceremonial dress is folks' oppurtunity to apply the "Bling of War" plot device to characters, because you can't practically go into trenches and wield machine guns in the heat of gunfire dressed like Nicksylvania. Of course, for me, that's what makes it such a fun topic.

It's interesting. There's a topic for ceremonial ranks and ceremonial guards, but what about your usual Beetle Baily's ceremonial clothes? Doesn't he have SOMETHING?

Hence, today's questions.
What is the ceremonial dress of your army? How about your navy? If you have other branches, what are theirs? Do they even have them?
When do they wear them? Is it for extremely special occasions, or whenever they're not actually fighting?

I want to know. So come on NS, show some pride in your troops and give me your nation's finest dressed at their finest!
:D

USSK Ceremonial Dress

Postby Kaizerxisiv » Sat Oct 29, 2011 6:49 pm

The forces of the USSK do not have Ceremonial dress, but instead attend ceremonies in full combat gear.

It is a goldenrod vest with black trim over a black coat and pants. An accompanying black belt contained a polished rapier in a silver sheath.

(Might post a nice picture later here.)

Something like this, except it's green in the case of Army soldiers and Blue in the case of the Marines

Army dress was inspired by Jimmy Two-Shoes... :P

Postby TurtleShroom » Sat Oct 29, 2011 7:01 pm

In the military, TurtleShroom's ceremonial dress is donned whenever the soldiers aren't fighting. For example, soldiers sent as ambassadors or attending diplomatic missions are in their ceremonial dress. A unique thing about TurtleShroom's ceremonial dress is how decorations are worn.

Most people know that soldiers have a box-like rectangle on their breast where the ribbon patterns are almagated together to symbolize decorations earned. In TurtleShroom, however, they wear the actual medal, which leads to a lot of medals and items for well-decorated soldiers.
