Well when you get a civil union if you own or rent an apartment it's jointly-owned, with both names on the agreement, as opposed to only one person's name on it if you weren't - both names can be on it in any case, but one has to be a co-signer instead of a "full" signer, so in the case of a breakup the "co-signer" doesn't have any legal standing to keep the property.

It also includes the right to make decisions for your loved one during a situation where they are physically unable, but you can also just specify that without a civil union. In addition, specific tax rebates exist for those that are in a civil union.

Hurricanes hit all the time; we had a total of 38 in the 2010 season.

We have an intense super drainage system which captures and even vacuums the water off the streets and directs it back into the ocean using a complex and state of the art underground drainage system, as flooding would be disastrous for us as we're a fairly flat country with no high ground to retreat to - additionally building doors are reinforced so that if flooding does occur it will not be able to get inside buildings.

Building codes are also strict and require the highest level of hurricane protection there is. Windows are reinforced and thicker to provide protection from breakage via hail and flying objects from hurricane force winds, and other materials.

Besides the fact that all luggage must be checked (no carry-ons), the security checkpoints are rather lax. You walk through a metal detector, get a quick pat down, and you're let on your way.

Beverages, medications, medical supplies, etc are allowed on board in clear, plastic containers.

Tsvarchi is a single unitary state without states or provinces. The central government is the single governing authority. The country's split into seven boroughs to reflect the country's past as individual city-states with each levying their own tax systems.
