What know alot changes in 70 years, and usually, if they are like that for less than 70 years, they are probably not perminate, so that said, if your nation has changed dramatically in 70 years, then the flag would have too. Maybe you became Christian, or muslim, or budist, or athiest, or communist. We've had this flag since 1857 so it was like this 70 years ago
Anyway, what was your flag 70 years ago?

Alas, we were still under the colonial administration, then. We used the flag of the Union of South Africa:

Our Flag in 2441...Is the same we have now, except the eagle was facing the right, and there was a hammer/sickle on the left.Imagine their surprise when communism in our nation fell the next year with the Rise of Democracy. The flag was altered with the removal of the sickle/hammer,and the modification of the eagle's color from brown to gold, then to platinum. And the addition of a red star in the left corner.

The Netherlands used two different flags in 1941, as 1941 was the year in which the German Kaiserreich invaded the Dutch Socialist Union. Germany officially declared war on the Netherlands on the 16th of May 1941, and it ended with a German victory on the 27th of May, meaning the end of the Dutch Socialist Union. Back to the flags, the following flags were used:

The Greater Pony Herd had no flag in 1941, since it did not exist yet. The Urmanian Federation was in its place:

it was the same. Last time our flag changed was early in 19th century. The only difference was that instead of a horizontal tricolour, it was a vertical one.
When the monarchy was overthrown, the flag was turned to the side, to symbolize change.

This was our official national flag until 24 March, 1977, when our current flag was adopted on our country's bicentennial. Known as The St. Albans Cross, this much beloved flag is still quite often seen and now serves as the nation's official naval jack.
