I do have it. I'm playing around with it on other documents before I switch over to it completely. I wnat to try and do North Pony Lands in Paint.Net, so I can have layering and all kinds of fun stuff.

It depends on which hemisphere the Pony Lands would be on, but I imagine one end would be quite cold, and another rather tropical, with the middle having more temperate climates.

Since YellowApplan cities tend to follow jetstreams, the winds are likely going either north-south or south-north (as that's the direction of all the YellowApplan cities, roughly speaking). Based on the placement of the mountains (land being more flat on the southern ends of landmasses and more rocky on the northern ends), it would seem that the winds are mostly travelling north, and thus the southern regions will be more than likely grasslands and forests, thanks to high precipitation, while areas to the north would receive less precipitation and thus be more arid and dry.

This is all conjecture, though. I have no clue what Lubyak intended.

But what Yellow Apple says works too.

Edit: If we'r serious about climate, then the best way to make it work is to say that Pony Land is Northern Hemisphere.

So really, the new map should be SOUTHERN Pony Lands....

I'll fix that.

Wait, what? Which way are we extending it, north or south? The hemisphere shouldn't matter map-wise, though it would affect the climate of the extended portion.

I was planning on extending it north. However, the way climate works out (if we want the climate to work) expanding north would start taking us into the arctic.

As such, I'd have to expand South if I wanted to make the climate work.

So the debate now is whether or not I say 'to hell with climate accuracies' or if I decide I'll try to be mildly realistic.

I'm interested in taking the spot by Lanos for a protectorate after Maven tours for the vacation so put it on reserve if possible.

Sounds good. Any names or cities or anything you'd want?

If we're going with that then we're good with expanding North. I won't be making any decisions till at least tomorrow as it's 3:30 in the morning and I'm off to bed. So yeah...

Currently I'm leaning to the 'to hell with climate accuracies' angle.

Right now I'm planning on a Mediterranean and a maritime climate for my country. On the same latitude, roughly speaking, Eadesiopia has tropical rainforests.

I am more than fine with this. If anyone has an issue, I say "it's magic, ain't gotta explain shit."

That will take a while and I'll need the map zoomed in to that spot.

I've put a map you have zoom control on in the OP. Failing that, the main link is highly zoomed in, so you should be able to pick things out there...

Well, if we shift the map close enough to the equator, then it wouldn't be all that bad, especially considering that the NS earth, with all the parallel land claims and new continents, would be about 8 times the circumference of the sun or something absurd like that. So in regard to arctic and tropical regions, we don't have to worry too much about that; sure, the north would be a little chillier, but it wouldn't be tundra.

Fair enough then.

So, we're in the Northern Hemisphere, but really, climate can be next to whatever we want....

There's a lot of nations on this map who don't like to be next to each other.
There's a lot of nations on the real world who don't like to be next to each other.
They all learn to deal with it.
I suspect you'll need to learn to do that.
