DEAR ABBY: We received a nasty note from our daughter-in-law, "Ariella." She lives several states away. Her father passed away about six weeks ago. They lived out of state, and we were never close with them.

Ariella is angry because we didn't send flowers to the viewing and didn't send her mother a sympathy card until two weeks after the funeral.

We're in our late 70s. Ariella's father was 89. Should we have sent flowers? And is two weeks after a death too late to send a sympathy card? Our other three children each received identical notes from Ariella. -- BEFUDDLED IN ALABAMA

These are nations that go back to 2006. Of course the majority of them are no longer around. If you really wish to look it up, go through my jolt threads. They are all there.

Walmington on Sea wrote:Evening. I'm working on a reply in our '40s thread right now, but needed a quick break, so...

I can probably find this out elsewhere, but when does Griffencrest arise? And, I wonder, does the spectre of Walmington's role in bringing down the old Empire influence the corporation's thinking when it comes to WoS's North Atlantic petrochemical projects as we move towards the modern era? (And, for that matter, its huge uranium reserves in eastern Norbray, and so on?)

Eventually I'll get back to moving WoS forward. I don't know if I'll ever hit really Modern Tech, but we'll do at least the '50s and maybe the '60s and posssssssibly '70s, you see.

Griffincrest starts in the late 20's, but doesn't really gain power until the 1970's, and then does not get the power it has today until the 90's, when a plague shattered the nation and the oil company came out looking like a national hero for keeping its employees safe.

The corporation would not look to taking your fields because it would be too difficult of a conflict.

Ahh, interesting. So it even exists during our conflict, but most of us have probably never heard of it. Hm, well, y'learn something every once in a blue moon.

How could any entity flood the oil market with a massive surplus of supply and still scrape a profit?

With this much oil in circulation, prices would be dirt-cheap.

Mate, this is NS...all is possible here. If socialist states can work, then oil commodity prices can remain high or at least stable despite vast over abundance in the market :p

Corrupt Dictatorship

Postby Estainia » Fri Oct 02, 2009 9:41 am

What was the Confederacy like in it's normally PT settings? Did it have a Roman-esque Senate, or something different? Was it ruled by a King, an Emperor, Two Kings? What is the Confederacy's oppinion on how it's main-corporation[Griffincrest] treats the world? Are they are afraid of possible reprecations due to the dealings of the corporation?

Note that every question entailed is about the Confederacy, as you have stated the Q&A is about Blackhelm and not it's tycoon bully. ^_^
