Toll Roads in Your Nation

Postby Haydenish People » Sun Sep 18, 2011 5:59 am

Are there toll roads in your nation? If so, how expensive are they? Do they get government funds?

In Haydenish People, there are two states. In the eastern state, Fautlin, there are six toll roads: The Mountain Parkway, The Western State Parkway, The Southwestern State Parkway, The Northeastern State Parkway, The Valley Connector, and Interstate 380. These operate as one coalition separate from the government, and are counted as a private business and must pay taxes. In the western state, Loto, there is one toll road: Interstate 90, for approximately 200 miles. This is under the Loto Department of Transportation. The Fautlin Parkways average 3 centaurans per mile (3.75 US cents) and Interstate 90 averages 2.5 centaurans per mile (~2.9 US cents).

There is also the Great Bicycle Tollway, which averages 1.7 centaurans per mile (~2 US cents). However, for this, you get rest stops (with air pumps and workshops) every 30 miles, restaurants every 60 miles, and hotels every 90 miles. This road runs from Northeast to Southwest. This is part of a larger network of bicycle interstates and nationwide trails. No pedestrians allowed on this road.

Toll roads are non-existent in Ruskarkand, considering Automobiles are banned.
We would not bother trying to toll people who fly.
No point trying to toll those who walk or take a bike either on the trails either.

Yes, we have Toll roads and I think it's not really expensive and also people need to pay it every time they want to use toll roads at the toll both. We have many, around 15 toll roads....like..Cipularang Toll, Jagorawi Toll, Cianjur Toll ,etc.

Tolls and toll roads are a restriction of the freedom of movement, and therefore illegal.

They somewhat exist, mostly on bridges and so forth. But overall, the roadways are largely free-to-travel.

Toll roads used to exist on motorways in the Athenian Sector before Minoa (Charlotte Ryberg) was founded, in 2031 it was decided that only bridges and tunnels, and private roads could be subject to tolls.

There are toll roads in Laurenita, although they comprise only about 5% of the Imperial highway and road system. Toll roads, according to Imperial law, cannot charge more then €4.00 per mile traveled. Most of the system (95%), is free.

If it is a private road, we have no right to prevent tolling, however, none of these roads currently exist in our country.

Tunnels and bridges are tolled until they are payed off, and can not become sources of income after the tunnel/bridge is payed off. Bikes are exempt from all tolls on public bridges and tunnels.

All major motorways have tolls. They are electronic and therefore restrict no movement. The fee is CFP1.50 per trip.

The government operates toll booths every 2 and a half miles on roads leading to the capital(Only in the lane heading towards the capital). ₡24.50($12.50), the reason for the high price is to keep the masses out.

Only the Imperial Hghway, sole link between Prudhomme and Villard, is a toll road.

Multiple toll roads exist between states, they're high volume long highways which allow for faster travel and sizable profit.

All major roads here are privately owned, but true toll roads here are regarded as somewhat antiquated, being primarily seen only in rural areas. They have been largely supplanted by the Free2Drive model of revenue, in which the road may be freely driven upon by anyone, but individuals may opt to purchase premium road services(congestion reports, priority autopilot access, etc.), for a price. Additional income is earned through advertising. Such free roads have largely displaced toll roads in all major cities.

No toll roads. We are an archipelagic nation. We don't have many roads. We have a few major ones that circle islands and that's it. To compensate, we do tax ferries, barges, and ports.

We dont have toll roads. We barely allow private enterprise. What mass transit we have is subsidized.

There are some private toll roads, but since we don't have a government we do not have a governmental toll road.

No, because you can't generate a profit from it as people can simply drive straight through without paying and it wouldn't be illegal.
Also, the Guilds a likely to punish you if you infringe on their member's freedom of movement.
