Origins of Immigrants?

Postby Kirav » Wed Sep 07, 2011 4:37 pm

I'm sure that if we did some quick snooping around FN&I, we could find countless descriptions of how immigrants are treated in your nation, and how well your established culture likes them. THis thread is to learn more about the immigrants themselves.

Where do most immigrants to your nation come from? Why did they leave? Why did they choose to come to your nation and not elsewhere?

The immigrants come from a vast amount of nations, and the reason almost always has to do with a transfer by their employers.

Most modern immigrants hail from nations that have/had populations of Reptilian sentients, which makes sense since most of these immigrants are Reptilian and our government's Reptile-friendly.

Where do most immigrants to your nation come from?
A great deal of countries. They're isn't one major place of emigration to Cookesland.

Why did they leave?
The most commonly stated reason is oppressive or dangerous conditions in the country they were formerly in.

Why did they choose to come to your nation and not elsewhere?
Cookesland has been know a safe haven for many persecuted and oppressed groups of people.

Where do most immigrants to your nation come from?
All sorts of places, there isn't really any major point of origin.

Why did they leave?
Many reasons, ranging from persecution and or civil disorder, to our low taxes.

Why did they choose to come to your nation and not elsewhere?
Either to avoid gruesome and horrible torture and death elsewhere, or for our extremely low taxes.

Where do most immigrants to your nation come from?
We don't ask, although in the 2010 census, immigrants accounted for 41% of the overall population, and they specified over 80,000 countries of origin.

Why did they leave?
We don't ask.

Why did they choose to come to your nation and not elsewhere?
Our grand economy, exceptional liberal culture, and vast civil liberties.

The largest three immigrant groups in Pataria are from the nations of Oterro, Avenio, and Garimidia. All have moved to the nation due to economic opportunity in the late 1890s into the 1950s, however, due to internal turmoil in the 1930s-1940s, there was a significant drop in immigration. Today, the fastest growing immigrant group comes from the Rusich.

Where do most immigrants to your nation come from?
They do hail from all over the world

Why did they leave?
Most likely because we are the most civilized state in all of creation.

Why did they choose to come to your nation and not elsewhere?
Because we are tha most glorious states in the world of course, the real question is why more people are not trying to move to the absolute royal federation or demand that their own territory should join the absolute royal federation

All over the galaxy, though particularly from socialist, theocratic or fascist nations where intelligent people are not allowed to conduct business or be innovative without government interference.

We don't receive many immigrants as we're considered a third world country. Have you ever heard such capitalist bogus? Those who come here are usually enthusiastic supporters of socialism who pledge their loyality to the republic.

While we cannot provide fully accurate lists of country of origin, we can account for who they are and why they left

- Many immigrants to the Floridian Coast are atheists, agnostics, or secularists fleeing from theocracy. As we are a pro-atheism nation, we have special political asylum acceptance for non-religious dissidents.

- Similarly, many other Floridian immigrants are socialists, communists, or even anarchists leaving an oppressive capitalist system.

- Other immigrants are tourists who enjoy their stay so much they decide to resettle here.

Other corners of the empire, predominately the Mother Country and the other Royal Dominions. They come here because its safe, stable, and easy for citizens to do so.

Remember Rhodesia.

Immigrants are treated as outsiders for the first approx 3 years then, when people are used to them, we often learn from their culture and some times apply it to ours. This often applies to individuals
Kalaspia-Shimarata's flag represents the Union between K&S. The dark blue represents the sea and the light blue represents the sky. In Kalashi language considers light blue and dark blue to be different colours. England colonised, and unified K&S, between 1774 and 1953, and English, light blue and dark blue are considered to be the same colour. Therefore, the contrast between dark blue and light blue represents the union, but the differences between K&S where as blue being two but simultaneously one colour represents K&S being two, but simultaniously one entity. The opposite to the symmetry represents the unity and indipendance of K&S, whilst also representing the Kalashi culture of opposite symmetry.KS is 75% Christian, hence the cross.

Where do most immigrants to your nation come from?
There is not any one nation that most immigrants do come from.

Why did they leave?
Many immigrants come for reasons such as political discrimination in their homeland, the relative safety of our own nation, or due to Wallenbergia's prosperous economy. Others come for reasons such as appreciation of the beautiful landscape, the culture of the locals, or maybe because they felt a need to return to their ancestral home. Pagan peoples seeking religious freedom do make up a good percentage of immigrants to our nation. Many come for a combination of those reasons, along with others.

Why did they choose to come to your nation, and not elsewhere?
They choose our nation, because of the simple fact that nowhere else is Wallenbergia.

Very few attempt to immigrate to Sidh Ohn due to its harsh and, to be honest, dangerous environment, as well as the fact that it's extremely difficult to actually get into due the geography. That said, the few who do are generally treated as children unless they can pass the test of adulthood, at which point they are considered an Ohn citizen. Of those who try, very few actually succeed at this test, and most immigrants die shortly upon arrival due to the aformentioned environment.

The Fascists at the time converted most of the Spanish immigrants and the irish but the Arabic and Africans were mostly hinduists and islamists and were oppressed for years

Immigrants come from many countries but generally from the poorer countries. Many of them leave to find a job in the many factories throughout the nation.
