Introduction: Legital is a large sized planet not too far away from the Sol System (our real life Solar System), along with seven other planets (Felcast, Reyn, White Sands, Ultanshi, Yrvesse, Elondris, Kuwati) in the same system (the Rai system) under control of the Rims. Legital is the homeland of the Rims, the indigenous species. They appear like Humans, but have pointed ears and different biological make-up. Legital is mainly covered in thick forests and mountains, with some rivers and plains scattered about. The form of government is an Empire. The Rims live un-oppressed and relatively happy. Although, the planet Felcast under Rim control has tried to declare its independence and is currently locked in war with the loyalists.

-Geography-

Legital is almost completely covered in forests and mountains. That is, apart from the urban sprawl of massive cities and smaller local urban areas. Legital is highly populated and developed, with cities not only stretching sideways, but very high up and deep into the ground. Mega-Cities are notable for having many various layers built on top of each other over time as cities keep building upwards.

-People, Culture and History-

The native and main species of Legital are the Rim(s). They physically appear like humans, except they have pointed ears, slightly smaller, but not shorter build(they are actually taller on average than a Human), and a vast arrays of different eye colors. All have a natural low light vision, and all Rims have pale white skin. Their teeth are quite similar to a Humans, but they have two good sized fangs on the top rack of teeth. Also, their bones are slightly stronger than an average Humans. They are near unable to obtain illness, due to the Proto-cells that are only located in the blood of a Rim. Those cells also provide a healing affect which decreases the length in time of recovery of any type of laceration or other injury for a Rim while also create a regenerative affect also. This is the behind the Rims long lifespan of five hundred and forty-nine years.

Everyday clothing is typically quite presentable, atleast on the standards for Rims. Typical outfits consist of robes and loose somewhat loose clothing, or almost military style. An example of an outfit below :

Work in Progress

What types of food are most common in your nation?
Pastas, bread, white meat, and seafood; vegetables are also commonly eaten, along with starches. Drinks consist mainly of teas, coffees and mils, but artificial drinks are somewhat popular.

Is your nation vegetarian?
Not every Rim, but there are indeed some Rims who do not eat meat.

Do you have national fasts?
No, anyone who fasts fast solely on their own.

Are any animals considered sacred or holy and therefore cannot be eaten?
No, any animals that people choose not to eat are their choice or because of any danger advisement, or any animal that is endangered.

(Work in Progress!)
Introduction: Rims have many physical similarities with Humans. The main differences of physical traits are pointed ears, vast arrays of eye colors, and a lack of different skin colors. Despite their physical looks, they are much more different internally.

Externals. Part One, Section One:
As mentioned above and else where, Rims have pointed ears. It is unknown exactly why their ears are pointed, but it was theorized that the ancient Rims once had excellent hearing, and that the shape of their ears allowed them to hear and be able to pinpoint the directions of sounds better. Over time, as Rims became less hunter and more worker, specifically miner, they relied less on their ears and more on their eyes. Since Rims now have hearing comparable to a Humans, and their eyes now able to see in near pitch black areas, that theory is only strengthened. Although, the eyesight of many Rims in most cases, can be found to be slightly more than a Humans.

Section Two:
Rims are generally taller than an average Human, with males standing at about 6'4 and females at about 6'3.

Section Three: The eyes of a Rim are similar, but yet very different to a Humans. The eyes of a Rim look like a Humans, except the eye color of a Rim can vary from many shades of: Purple, green, red, brown, blue, teal, orange, hazel, silver and in some cases, pure white or black. The eyes are typically very shiny, which give them the look of being bright, and sometimes make it look like the eyes are sending out light. This is because Rims, unlike Humans, have a tapetum lucidum.

Section Five: Rims lack large amounts of Melanin in their skin, which is why all Rims have white skin, with a slight variety in shade. Although, their hair and eyes contain large amounts of Melanin. This is why Rims are able to have such different types of eye color. And with the hair, Rims have the same color range as do Humans. Although their hair becomes a silver grey or white earlier in their years when they get older.

The Soldier of Legital:

The average soldier begins his career in the military at basic training. For about three months, the recruit will undergo Basic Physical Training(BCT) and Advanced Individual Training(AIT), although more time may be spent training for other military positions. The recruit is taught the basics of: Handling firearms, First Aid, Survival, Signal Operations, Mechanics, Camouflage, proper military etiquette and any other specific training for the individual. Once they pass this part, they continue onto training regarding their military position(ex: Pilot, Medic, Demolitions, etc.).

Uniforms:

Main Combat uniform
Image
The main combat uniform exists in several variations, although the helmet is what changes the most. Above is a marksman variant, as seen by the helmet. The rest of the armor is exactly the same, although abit lighter, than a standard soldier.

The plastasteel can stop most anything lower than a 7.62x51 a few times, but the larger the round, the less the armor will be able to handle. The nature of the armor mostly spreads out the force, so after that one hit, the area around the shot weakens making it unable to stop another round like that.

Officer Uniform:
Image

Commissar Uniform:
Image
Commissars are certain Rims who are in charge of ensuring that moral and behavior is in check. They ensure that there is no corruption amongst the ranks, and enforce the rules of war. Commissars are essentially the police to the military.

Special Forces:
The Advanced Recon Commando teams (ARC Teams) are the most highly skilled warriors of the Rim military. They specialize in a wide variety of things, but they are best at Night operations. The armor is currently being fazed into a general armor wear for main line soldiers.

Marching style

A normal and typical military parade or march consists of the colors being marched first. Behind them, the higher ranking officers will come marching behind. After that, a typical military band will be. Then the main body of the parade comes. Typically troops will march together in a Company, and depending on how wide the road is, will determine how wide the column will be. The platoon leaders are always on the side closest to the official or viewers side detached from the main body. Now, something similar goes for the rifles. The troops shall have their rifles shouldered accordingly. The rifle will be on the farthest shoulder from the official or crowd. If they are marching north, and the official is on the east side, their rifles are at left shoulder arms. And then the same goes for the other way.

The next few seconds show the way they march:

-Law Enforcement-

Civil Protection Officers

Civil Protection Officers are the civil law upholders of the Rim Empire. While the military has authority, their word is not law, nor is it to carry out law enforcement. Civil Protection Officers are quite well equipped, allowing them to respond rapidly to various situations in the country side or city alike. There are indeed some unit variations, allowing particular officers and prescients to operate at a better standard such as urban and out-land units.

-Planets- (Work in Progress)

Within the Rim Empire, there are a total of eight planets and one system. Legital is the homeworld of the Rims, and is in the Rai system. Below, you will see each and a description of each planet.

-Planets: There are a total of fourteen between the Rai and Magi system.
Rai System: Legital, Felcast, Reyn, White Sands, Ultanshi, Yrvesse, Elondris, and Kuwati.

-Rai System-

Homeworld to the Rims. The majority of the factbook above discusses Legital. Refer to that for information.

Felcast was the second colonized world of the Rims. Naturally, it is as highly developed as Legital is. Yet it is here that a Civil War takes place, where separatists and terrorists wish to remove Felcast from the Rim Empire. Of course this is not taken kindly, and Felcast is little more than a massive battlefield between the Rim Empire and the Separatists.
Felcast itself is similar to Legital, being home to a generally cold climate, yet lots of open plains and high mountains. Unlike Legital, there is no ocean. Felcast is home instead to several seas which act as sources of water. Felcast is also nearly the same size as Legital.

Reyn can often be referred to as Legitals twin. The climate is very similar to that of Legital, with much fog and rain. Reyn is also the more traditional Legital, home to many older customs and traditions, including superstitions.

House
Von Hess
of the Evarii Roleplay

-Factbook and information-
(Work In Progress)

Table of Contents:
1. General Statistics and Facts
2. Culture and People
3. Trade and economy
4. Military
5. The Von Hess family observed

Opening Summary:The House of Von Hess had modest beginnings in the north west area of Evarii. The earliest recording of the Von Hess family detailed a marriage between two families of the high mountains and low woodlands, creating the family name which is now currently known. Dominating the local trade, as the prime exports were lumber and mined goods, the Von Hess family soon came to control a sizable amount of wealth. With wealth came power, naturally, and the Von Hess family soon over the years became the ruling party of the local area. The House of Von Hess, and the regional capital city of Riloft which grew up under the family, is known for their output in scholars and architects, including a number of military strategists.

The land under control of the Von Hess House is called, officially, the Duchy of Hessia. Hessia was not always the name of the land, however, until the Von Hess House unified the land and people. Before that, the land was called many different names amongst different houses and families.

-General Statistics and Facts-

Name of territory: Duchy of Hessia
Demonym: Hessian
Population: 1,142,691
Capital city: Riloft
Large urban centers/cities (150,000+): Five total: Riloft, Ravelin, Kievsar, Sigarn, Osterheim
Urban population: 691,268
Rural population: 451,423

-Culture and People-

-Trade and Economy-

Currency: Gold, silver, and copper coins. (1 Gold = 8 Silver | 1 Silver = 12 copper)
Main trade: Lumber, goods created through carpentry (furniture, weapons, etc.), and mined materials (namely gold, silver, tin, copper and iron).
Merchant vessels: 61 merchant ships (52 independent/guild and 9 directly under the Von Hess House)
Main work makeup: The majority and of the population are similar to the status of peasants, with most being farmers and laborers. The second largest work makeup would be craftsmen and merchants of varying skill, including professional soldiers. The smallest make up would be the clergymen and nobility.

-Military-

Standing military: Roughly 28,000 professional soldiers garrisoned in cities, towns, and fortifications.
Professional military not active (E.G. Professionally trained career soldier, but not garrisoned or ready for immediate armament and departure): Roughly 50,000
Individuals capable of being levied into service (Non-professional conscripts): All families are expected to send at least one male between 16 and 45 (and fit of body and mind) to serve as a levy when called upon. For one male given as a levy, the family will receive 7 gold coins (equal to 56 silver coins). Each additional male given as levy will be worth an additional gold coin.
Total professional military: Around 80,000 professional soldiers during peacetime.
Total capable levy forces: Around 400,000 men eligible for levy service.
Overall military manpower: Estimate of around 480,000 individuals in service.

Hessian Army tactics: The Hessian military is heavily focused on tight formations of pikemen supported by loose formations of men-at-arms armed with various weapons. Larger military hosts will be supported by levy soldiers, while small hosts may be made up entirely of levy forces. On the field, pikemen are expected to either offensively assault the enemy in formation or hold their positions while longbowmen harry the enemy in the safe proximity of the pikemen. Cavalry is split up between mounted knights and scouts, the former playing a part on the battlefield while scouts are light skirmishers who avoid open combat roles.

While Hessian formations are fluid enough on the battlefield, a major hindrance to their tactics is the lack of open maneuverability. As such, enemies who can break their flanks and rear lines are capable of routing entire armies as single pikemen unable to form up. As such, non-pike men-at-arms cover such positions and are committed to the open battlefield only when deemed necessary.

Knights are often shock cavalry who are committed in attacks on the enemy flanks or weak spots.

Levy soldiers are led by career officers and are used to openly engage enemy forces with short spears or swords, both respectively with shields.

Average Hessian equipment: Hessian professional soldiers are armed with their respective weapons and a dagger (swords for swordsmen, pikes for pikemen, etc.) while almost universally equipped with similar armor and clothing. The color of the clothing of levy and career soldiers vary, but most commonly come in olive green or dark blue or red.

Pikemen and swordsmen and other professional career soldier armor and clothing. Often armed with solid armor chest pieces and solid sallet helmets. Pikemen are given shortswords, while swordsmen and other non-pike soldiers are armed with regular length swords, warhammers, or axes and wooden shields.

Longbowmen are extremely light armored, given only leather armor and occasionally metal sallet helmets, but often the sallet helmets are leather as well. Archers are also equipped with shortswords and bucklers.

Levy soldiers and mounted scouts are given simple chaimail shirts and leggings and either metal sallet or kettle helmets with tunics worn as outerwear. The most common armament for levy soldiers are short spears, short swords, and wooden shields.
