Here lobsters are considered citizens with all the rights of human beings. However, crawdads, crabs, and other crustaceans are allowed (and encouraged) to be eaten. Using the term crayfish or crawfish instead of crawdads, and using dog instead of pooch, is considered archaic and laughed at. Due to gasoline laws and usages for other purposes (i.e, for drinking for the sake of coolness), horse-drawn carts, rickshaws, and palanquins are common transportation methods in the cities. Also, sex in public is legal for the sole purpose of freaking out the tourists.

In the Dekerin Domains, the aristocracy are always armed and the middle-classes who compose the industries, police, civil service, and militia are frequently armed. Peasants and women, however, are permanently barred from keeping weapons unless given explicit permission and training by their lords.

Due to the re-education programs of the last decade, any citizen may be stopped by police arrested if they do not have an article of pork or liquor on their person and can be ordered to consume a quantity of either to prove their loyality to El Presidente.

Also, due to the program, loyal citizens are expected to profess a great love of bad 80's hair metal and denim or leather jackets are nearly universally worn by the working class, as this greatly pleases El Presidente.

This is barbarism! The 80's hair, the denim... At least force them to drink Aguardiente instead of liquor!

Aguardiente is an acceptable liquor, but it is traditionally used to treat rickets and malaria in children in Virtud Tierra so the police may be suspicious.

Our nation's flag is made from a type of non-denim fabric and it is culturally taboo to to wear clothing made of that of the proud standard of our nation.

ATVs and similar offroad vehicles are a big thing here. These vehicles are allowed in all places execept for roads, sidewalks, and public property. The Orangelands have a lot of unused terrain such as sand, dirt, and grass so a lot of people ride around in ATVS, dirtbikes, and sandrails. Some people commute to work this way. Offroad enthusiasts outnumber "normal" car enthusiasts.

Also, one can't obtain a driver's license or drive street cars until 18 but you can ride these vehicles at 16 so it's considered "the cool thing" by the young crowd.

In Korribani society, status is everything. The weak are downtrodden, and find patrons to serve in exchange for protection.

Also, we have a habit of death duels. They must be suitably challenged and witnessed, but they are an approved way for our warriors and upper classes to gain status. For the lower classes, of course, this would be foolish. But if a member is talented and bloodthirsty enough, they may leave their lowly class behind.

In First Federation. People have sex. Some who have it are married to each other. Some are not married. People get married. And some have kids. For the most part. The Government keeps it's nose out of our business. (Unless there is legitimate reason for it to step in. Such as criminal activity.) And we live and let live. Some people watch porn. But as long as it is consenting adults doing the porn. The government keeps out of it. We believe life is much better if the government is less intrusive in the lives of the governed.
First Federation. Our nation. Good or bad.

My nation is not like my nation page at all, it contradicts itself, we don't EVER eat kangaroos, that's just very sad. Also vegetarianism is compulsory yet it still says it's the nation's favourite main course and all and stuff.

All vbingvani wear masks. Their reaction to a fellow vbingvani not wearing a mask is much the same as a human's reaction to a fellow human not wearing clothing. In addition, unlike most nations, the citizens of Vbingvan tend to see soldiers as little more than armed brutes. The government, obviously, tries to discourage this viewpoint, but the citizens are stubborn.

Codex Tarkanea wrote:Tarkanean Culture

The commoners nobility

While Tarkanea is ruled by the powerful noble families, a Tarkanean judges his fellows more for his merit than his birth. Born nobles are constantly pressured in to excelling their adopted brethren, since they have been raised to become the rulers of Tarkanea from birth they are required to be strongest, smartest and most cunning of all. Those that are not able to achieve this are killed by their ambitious younger siblings and they in turn by theirs.

With born nobles being considered to be a superior breed, it means that Tarkaneans will look with even greater admiration and respect on the adopted nobles, for they started from low and still become greater then their superiors. It has therefore become very common for Tarkanean nobles to try their best at appearing as if they had worked themselves from the bottom and gotten to the top, rather than being born into nobility.

This does not mean that Tarkanean nobles try to look modest, quite the contrary. The nobles instead try to give the impression they they are commoners that try to look like nobility. Most nobles dress in extravagant, colorful and expensive looking costumes, that gives the impression that they had no idea how "noble " clothing looks and simply cobbled together anything that looked expensive.

On skin colour
In many society pale or white skin has been praised as beautiful or even superior. This has often come from its association to the rich and noble - the people rich enough not to work would not have to go outside and not get dirty or suntanned. However in Tarkanea most people try to look as if they were simple workers rising to their position. Therefore dark skin has been praised as the epitome of beauty. Another reason for the popularity of darker skin hues is the Tarkaneans belief in the superiority of dominant traits. If a white, blond person has children with one that is dark and black haired, their children will be dark skinned and their hair black. This means, says most Tarkanean scholars, that such traits are dominating, and therefore superior and should be spread.

Many expeditions travelled to lands far to the they brought dark-skinned people back as companions, workers, spouses and sometimes slaves, back to Tarkanea to strengthen their bloodlines and make their population more powerful.

For these reasons the average Tarkanean has significantly darker skin then would be expected from the location of the nation in comparison to the equator and to its climate.

Divided between our two major cultural regions:

West, South, and North Wagondia

- Toasts are as important as Handshakes in America- It is customary to look everyone straight in the eye, and never to toast with water. Ever.

- Just as in Mexico and Spain, Siestas are an important part of Daily life. Many stores will close for an hour or two after lunch for the traditional late noon nap.

- Just as in Mexico, the Extended Family is well-bonded. Thus, family outings usually involve several actual families from several provinces and at least 8 people named Mario.

- Marigold symbolize Death, and so are rarely given as gifts (though flowers are usually brought to dinner parties as a sign of respect toward the host.

- Always keep your hands visible when eating usually by keeping your wrists on the table edge. It is also customary that you never sit down without being told to do so.

East and Central Wagondia

- Nepotism is considered good- Hiring those related to yourself is seen as respectful, and, to some degree, good luck.

- Do Not place the Napkin in your lap- It is considered better to leave it to the right of your plate, though always switch it to the right after eating.

- Orchids are a very nice gift, and should be given to the hostess of a Dinner Party, though only when non-purple.

- The Casual Fashion is rather Formal here, and always dress with flair, as one is sometimes judged by their clothing.

- Business cards are important, usually double sided in English and Portuguese, with the Portuguese end facing up.

It is quite common for Benutians to be culturally offended of pale skinned whites, breaking the caste system is considered one of the ultimate offenses and the person is either reprimanded. In Benutian culture being able to tame and to ride an atmosian lion (giant lions) or ferstris( terror-bird) is consider a noble trait and is of high honor. Benutian culture is very strict with a high sense of honor resulting in the constant nature of duels and also very patriarchial.
