typically 16 earth hour equivalents, 4 per each of 4 days, of our six day weeks, are spent what earth's dominant context would define as working.
each of the 19 day months in our 19 month year, is divided into three, 6-day weeks. in the kinds of industries that make most of the components for our infrastructure and many for and of similar technology, everyone has two consecutive days off regularly reliably every six day week. the extra "month" day, which falls in the middle of every third weekend, everyone has 'off'.

while nearly everyone spends only 16 to 20 hours per nominal work week "working", they also spend a nearly equal 16 to 20 hours continuing their advanced education, taking classes in what ever interests them.

long ago, cameroi figured out that if all of the work that really needed to be done, were distributed on something close to an equal basis, to everyone willing and able to do it, and there were no 'make work' to keep people 'looking busy', that 16 to 20 hours every 6 day week, per person, (the vast majority of whom do) who wised to do so, would actually be entirely sufficient, to accomplish everything that actually needed to be done.
truth isn't what i say. isn't what you say. isn't what anybody says. truth is what is there, when no one is saying anything.

It varies widely, but a "typical" workweek would probably be around 5 'watches' [i.e. 7½ hours] per day for 5 days per [8-day] week.

Those who sustain themselves work as much as is needed to continue to sustain themselves. There are no standards across the board, but generally it's about 10 hours of work most days, occasionally it's more or less.

Areas of large business tend to have standards of about 8 hours every day with the weekends off, the usual deal. Small businesses vary tremendously in their hours. Sometimes it's dawn to dusk with changing shifts, other times it's late morning until evening in one shift, sometimes it's split shifts, etc.

The good news is that nobody's going to be out of a job anytime soon.

Average Workday lasts for 9 hours whereas workweek lasts from Sunday to Friday; so on average workweek lasts for 54 hours. Of course, this is generally different for most people.

We have a very complex rotary work system. Workers work a monday to saturday work week and recieve -as minimum- a week off while others work their own monday-saturday shift. This system is used to make sure that everyone is employed. We have a massive welfare state where workers recieves basic necesities to survive such as food, water, electricity and a home. In return the worker MUST show up and work to an acceptable standard if he/she wants to recieve his benefits, the pay is decent and allows for the purchase of luxuries

For most jobs (different for some in retail and doctors etc) The hours are 3 hours in the morning, 9-12 siesta till 2 then work again 'till five. This is done for four days (and on one week each month 3 days). So it's a 24 hour work week 18 on some weeks. Couple in with government mandated 4 weeks of paid vacation (most places give a bit more anyways) and you get a society built around recreation more than work...

Work...week?

I've never heard such nonsense before in my life! In our nation we don't put arbitrary limits on the amount of work you can do. That is for the employer and the employee to work out between themselves! You may as well just set an upper limit on pay! Or for that matter, you may as well just go for broke and be commies, assigning work to your people "according to ability."

Normal minimum hours per week for an average job are six hours per day for five days, thus totalling 30 hours a week, excluding midday break, which lasts for two to three hours.

Work schedules are worked out between the employer and employee. However, on average, people work about 8 hours a day, usually from 8 AM untill 4 PM, and 40 hours a week, usually from monday to friday.

In Soigo the week has 8 days, not 7. The maximum you're allowed to work as an employee is 6 days per week and 3 luboi (9 hours) per day. Most people in office jobs have a 5-day work week though.

Converted to our 7-day week, that gives the Soigo people a 35-hour week, the legal maximum being a 47-hour week.

The average TurtleShroomer workweek is sunup to sundown, exactly like a farmer, and always closed on Sundays (unless it is a life-saving or core institution, like police, fire, hospitals, etc.: those know no Sabbatical) and holidays.
Depending on the time of year, that's between twelve to fourteen hours a day.

The idea of a forty-hour workweek has never come to TurtleShroom. Even the most radical labor fronts merely want Saturdays off.

This is because TurtleShroom is a primarily agrarian state, and while it has an enormous manufacturing, oil, and other businesses sector, they work on the farmers' clock because that is how it has always been and probably always will be.

So yes, twelve to fourteen hours a day, six days a week.
