Government Agencys
The Central Intelligence Service (CIS) is a civilian intelligence agency of the Californian government, reporting to the Director of Intelligence, responsible for providing national security intelligence assessment to senior policymakers, and the Director of Operations, who ovesees covert activities CIS is engaged in at the request of the President. CIS was formed in 1910 under a 'Black Flag" as the "Ofice of Special Intelegence" or OSI, to coordinate espionage and counter espionage activites against foreign powers and support for branches of the Californian armed forces. it was renamed in 1947 to the "Central Intelegence Service" and its mandate expanded to incluide Infiltration, Assassination, sabatage, anti-sabotage, demolition, evacuation mesures, subversion and counter insurgency. A number of high profile scandles involving assistance to underground resistence movments such as guerrillas and refugee liberation movments and support of indigienous anti-communist movements brought the CIS into the light, and was publicalled acknowledged to exist in 1974 where it was asigned a high profile building in Sacrimento a short walk from the main parliment building. The Primary function of CIS today, is to collect and process information on foreign governments, corporations and individuals, and to advise public policymakers and provide interagency co-operation. CIS also conducts covert operations and paramilitary actions through which it exerts foreign political influance via its infamous "Special Activities Division" and is the main arm of Californian Intelegence. CIS Currently employs over 20,000 people.
The National Security Service (NSS) founded in 1909 a Domestic Counter Intelegence and Security Service and since 1947 has also served as a cryptologic intelligence agency responsible for the collection and analysis of Domestic and foreign communications and foreign signals intelligence, as well as protecting government communications and information systems, which involves cryptanalysis and cryptography, Counter-Intelegence, Counter-Espionage and Counter-Terror Operations NSS is also a support to Imigraton, Customs and Borders (ICB) and to the Serious Organised Crime Agency (SOCA), and includes the California Cyber Defence Command and Electronic Strike Command (ES-COM). The NSA is run usually by a Lt General, or Vice Admiral and reports to the Minister of State.over 210,000 are currently employed by the NSS.
The National Office For Space Exploration (NASE) founded in 1958 is an executive branch agency of California government, responsible for the nation's civilian space program, construction and deployment of rockets civilian satellites and aeronautics and aerospace research as well as the design, construction, deployment and operation of military satellites (including spy Satellites) and to pioneer the future in space exploration, scientific discovery and aeronautics research. The public Face of NASE was founded oin 1958, while the later Military function was incorperated in 1960, NASE has led Californias Space Exploration Efforts. including the development of Orbiter rockets, Communucations and weather sattelites, Geospatial Mapping, Athena Mission to land on the mooon, Gen-1 Obital Lab Complex (OLC), Re-Usable Manned Multi-Purpose Space Vehicles such as the Miyra Project, and its successor the Midas Project, as well as the Gen-2 Orbital Space Lab Complex and new Unmanned Orbital Space Vehicles and Deep Space Probes and Landing Craft.
