Verataza's economy has stagnated from decades of political instability and several years of socialist reorganization of the economy, however the Transitional Governmental Junta of Verataza has begun to roll back collectivization and gradually implement the phased privatization of certain industries. Consumption and investment have not picked up as rapidly as desired, but progress is being made.

Even though I have quite a bit of trade deficit, I still have the highest GDP in the region and my puppet has the highest GDP/capita and trade surplus. My puppet's trade surplus is almost enough to cover my trade deficit, and I have low taxes and low unemployment rates.

However, if you use Absolution... I actually have the highest trade surplus

We have high taxes and a very high degree of business regulation. We also own many, many, rich oil fields. We have extremely high standards of living, almost nil unemployment and very much GPD per capita.

Not as well as it could be doing, our economy while good- is in a state of stagnation. We're desperately trying to lower our taxation rate but unfortunately, aren't getting too many issues that allow for that opportunity. We consider our economy to be normal when the currency value exceeds $2 per Saiwan and the GDP per capita is at $46,000 or higher.
