Road condition

Postby Bulgharia » Sun Jul 24, 2011 12:17 pm

How good are your roads? Are they full of potholes and no markings, or with black asphalt and good markings with shiny crashbarriers? In Bulgharia roads are the most important part of infrastructure, and seriously, every traveler is surprised by the quality of the roads.

We keep good care of our roads, but undoubtedly somewhere there's a sub-standard road.

Most roads are taken care of by private companies.

In the cities and provinces they are maintained at a high standard. In the Tribal Trust Lands a road's condition is less sure, and varies from tribe to tribe.

In the Grand People's Republic roads are in a perfect condition. Our motorway network has a total length of 96,700 kilometres and connects all provinces of the country.

Most of the roads are paved thoroughly and maintained well. Roads are the most used transportation routes in Romalae.

All roads are well finished thanks to toll booths on bridges and major motorways, as well as a congestion charge where a cheaper Park and Ride system is offered.

Road condition in Ruskarkand is close to perfect, particularly because the roads are used as footpaths due to the lack of automobiles following their ban.

Money spent on road maintenance is allocated according to how busy the road is and the extent of the repairs needed. Thus, city streets are generally even, with cracks or holes repaired before they can become an issue. Quiet rural roads receive the least attention, and often during the winter as water seeps into cracks and then expands can become peppered with potholes; however, they are never by any means unnavigable, and we do eventually get around to repairing them.

Thanks to our burgeoning development of nanotube-ceramic tiling for our road systems, potholes and cracks are extremely rare on Tantalus. Speedways, roads, and streets all enjoy a smooth surface for our vehicles to travel through.

A massive project was launched to redo the Kingdom's roads. It was completed early in 2011, though it started in 2007. As a result, the roads in the Kingdom are well taken care of, and are nicely built.

Our roads are sufficient to fulfill our needs. We do not have perfect infrastructure, because we believe first in adequacy and appropriateness for government services.

Most urban roads and inter-city motorways (autopistas) are in generally good condition, despite some areas of bad concrete which are due for replacement. Most rural roads are in good condition but that depends on the ammount of traffic and the type of vehicles which use that road. Costa Fiero has no problems with potholes in roads. Many of the more remote communities are linked via some form of road and these are usually dirt/mud tracks which are sometimes unnavigable during the wet season.

The road surfaces in Costa Fiero depend on the type of road in question. These vary from a mix of concrete and ashphalt to just concrete to just ashphalt to dirt or mud.

Highways are funded by national and provincial governments, so they vary from serviceable to abominable. This is not seen as a major issue, as privately-owned automobiles are not very common. Railway companies dominate overland long distance transportation.

A road network links all the occupied mainland settlements on East Arcadia. The main roads within Port Greenmont are tarred, all other roads are gravel all-weather roads.

Being a country with generally good weather and a healthy public sector, the roads of Fumei are very smooth and in impeccable condition. There are crash barriers where they are deemed necessary.

In order for automotive computers and drivers to easily recognize lanes and road direction, road paint is kept fresh, reflectors kept new, and weak magnetic strips are embedded in the pavement. These strips are too weak to affect automotive driving dynamics but may be sensed by specific equipment. The nation is small; these strips are a justifiable expense reserved for higher-speed roads.

Some dirt and gravel roads still exist in the agricultural and wild hinterland.
