The kingdom of Roxria, currently the newest nation in europe. Run as the UK is run currently... fully democratic with the King/Queen as the head of state.
History:
Vikings were the first settlers here, various historic sites around the country show a heavy viking/nordic presence for a very long time. The current monarch is a direct decedent of "Eric the red" a famous viking warlord.
Weather, geography, Economy & military:
Generally cold. Breath taking mountain ranges across the northern part of the country with a rich wildlife... polar bears and wolves have been spotted in the wild... several hundredsof miles north of the country.
A population of 7 million and an active army composing of 80,000 active personal. Proud owners of the euro fighter jets and british harrier jets. 1 very large aircraft carrier.
We produce a lot of oil and export most of it. Iron ores and lumber are abundant. We look after our large forests and have trained foresters that keep forests "alive" as it were... the fishing industry is owned by the government, where we employ thousands of people to fish and sell the fish that is caught. We use a rotation system where certain areas are only fished during a set amount of time... marine scientists supervise all the fishing and make certain waters are not over fished. 2 large national parks with lakes, mountains and beaches.
A new but a thriving economy, because of our fortunate location which is close to oil & gas wells and a lot of water...
Voting is optional and you don't have to vote if you don't want to... three main parties sit at the house of Parliament: the Nordic socialists, the conservatives and the democrats. We currently have a hung parliament where the socialists and democrats share power, and the conservatives as the oppositions.
Other parties include: the national party of roxria (mainly right wing and opposes multiculturalism) The white greens (highly environmental and oppose the existence of the military) and about 3 more...
We spend a lot on aid in the form of bags of rice and bottled water that we send in tonnes to countries in need... we also have a government funded charity known as the The Roxrian lights which is currently one of the largest charities in europe and have various well-building projects abroad, as well as teacher training. The last chairman of this charity was arrested due to his opposition to condoms in 3rd world countries as a way of aids prevention, this was against the charity's rules of interfering with the religious/sexual preference of aid recipients, and so his misuse of government money was considered class A fraud and he is currently serving a 3 year sentence.
Healthcare is free to all (funded by the tax payer)

Although this might seem like we are the perfect nation... there are of course some downsides.. we cannot grow rice/wheat/potatoes which all are consumed in large amounts by our people (slow energy releasing for cold weather...) so we must import them. We also have high tax rates, but that is to fund free healthcare, welfare and free education.
Our city life is rather boring... not an amazing sky line with sky scrapers, instead, we rely on our natural scenery with huge mountain ranges...etc
