In the beginning, the country was first ruled through small autonomous communities - each with their own leader, who was Christian (but of different sects such as Calvinist, Puritan, etc). Then, the country was united under a single pope until 1405 when the nearby Muslim Caliphates launched a crusade against the nation. Soon, the theocracy came under Muslim control for nearly 100 years until nearby Jewish nations helped the Christian league incite a revolt; but the Jews backstabbed our citizens and rose to power. In the 1690s, things couldn't get any worse but a joint Voodoo-Shinto-Tao-Confucianist alliance invaded the area but there was a scuffle as to who had ultimate power in the area - leading the nation to be divided for nearly 200 years. In the 20th century, philosopher Marcus Ayatollah (my father) published his article on religious harmony and inter-cultural peace, and its garnered support allowed the nation to become the haven it is today.

Nowadays, various religious leaders come together in a conference much like the RL Papal Synod (or whatever it is called) and elect on a new leader every 4-20 years (depending on how long the leader wants to stay) in a cycle (ie first is the pope, then the caliph, then the emperor, then the ayatollah, then the king, then the shaman-king then back to the start)

President Alex Mapleoir was elected against other candidates, including Elizabeth Cannon. He first came to the office after the death of the previous President in office. He reluctantly ran for the vacancy while Majority Leader, at the recommendation of then Acting President Ethan Yates.

Prime Minister Holmes was elected in February of this year, while President Fowler overthrew the dictator known as the Supreme Leader in July of last year. He was acclaimed to a term of 8 years starting from the 12th of this month.

He now commanded great respect among the lower ranks of the Imperial Armed Forces, but those in the top of the hierarchy were still distrustful of him. He had, however, gained the favour of the Emperor.

In 1944, he became Premier of the Keronian Empire, after nomination by the Emperor, and approval by Parliament (which was disappointed by the former Premier's policies during the war, and was aware of the influence and power Brisingr held over the Armed Forces and the Emperor).

He was instrumental in the avoidance of complete military defeat during the Second Regional War, and also in the economic and social progress of the nation.

He was appointed as Acting President after the Wallachiolan Rebel Military overthrew Dictator Hugo de Harloch, and elected in a landslide election 3 months later, against 200 major candidates and over 100,000 independents and write-ins.

The Birth of the Nation

The Mongol people by their very nature are a tough and warlike folk, and thus for most of our pre-history the people have been divided amongst many tribes with anarchy and chaos being the norm.

In the year 1200 a new military force appeared on our steppe homelands, a well diciplined and highly mobile force commanded by Temujin Noyan (General Temujin). Temujin Noyan; supported by key followers such as Tsubotai Noyan, Jelme Noyan, Mukhulai Noyan, Chilaun Noyan, Jebe Noyan and Chormaqan Noyan, waged a bloody war of re-unification until 1206 and after the final battle declared the existence of the Great Mongol Khanate.

In the centuries that have followed, the loyal tumens and ordu of the Great Khanate have continued to conquer neighbouring territories and to spread the power and might of the empire across all the known world.

One can only stand for Candidacy in Cruithnig after completing at least 35 years of military service. Once one understands the Cruithnigan Army, you understand its people and what is best for them. Candidates then vote for a leader amongst themselves (voting for yourself is illegal and punishable by death). The Royal Family then give their blessing to complete the process. Inaugeration day is a spectacle to behold.

Magniamitas was originally inhabited by small family tribes spread out all over the island for over 4500 years. Eventually colonist came and enslaved the native peoples of the island in 1245. In 1400 the tribes revolted and overthrew the colonist murdering every man,women, and child not of native ancestry.

In 1435 the Tribal Democracies union was formed with each of 21 tribes getting 1 vote on each issue. During our 18th century industrial revolution we voted to have a communist economic system; which would as the world continued it's advancements; leave us in economic shambles. In 1900 civil war erupted between those who wished to keep communism and those who wished to adapt capitalism.

In 1902 the capitalist won and Religious leader and Revolutionary general Sagax Magniamitas became Elected Dictator of Economics. Sagax turned Magniamitas into an economic power and was worshiped as a divine leader. In 1953 Sagax passed away and his Grandson Peter won a landslide election to become Elected Dictator Supreme.Peter would have absolute power but remained popular for unifying his people on all issues, In his last act on my 18th birthday all power was given to me his son and I have continued to solidify our nation as well as renaming our great Nation The Holy Empire Of Magniamitas.

Lt. Colonel Cloud, FRAF, first rose to prominence during the 1997 War (see Factbook). Being the first to discover the massive vampire "shadow government" living in the dark corners of Front Range cities, he was heavily involved in both the planning and execution of the spectacularly effective surprise offensive of 29 September of that year. Cloud emerged from the war a full Colonel but with a medical complaint from the fighting that left him unqualified for further active military service. He was honorably retired, and soon after (1998) appointed Assistant Secretary of Defense.

He proved as effective or more at his new position as his old one; in 2002 he was promoted to full SecDef in the post-election cabinet shuffle, and further promoted to SecState in 2004 on the retirement of Chris Galloway. Going into the 2008 election cycle he was considered the second-runner for the Blue nomination.

He became the front runner when tragedy struck in June of that year. The heavy favorite for the Blue nomination, Lunar Governor Kosnett, was killed in the Eagle disaster. His widow picked up his campaign and ran well, but not well enough to secure the Presidential nomination that went to Secretary Cloud. With relatively little other competition for the nomination, Cloud named Mrs. Kosnett as his VP nominee and on election night carried 10 of the 13 states, a rather comfortable victory.

While in the Terragon Isles the Prime Minister is publicly elected, attaining the office of Phoenix Lord works a bit differently. In theory, the Phoenix Lord is up for election upon the expiration of the term, or upon the death, resignation, or electoral defeat of a previous Phoenix Lord (there is no term limit on the office). In practice, the current Phoenix Lord generally designates a successor in whom they may place their utmost faith. Assuming the public approves the appointment (yes/no ballot, mandatory at the discretion of Prime Minister or current Phoenix Lord), time permitting, the new Phoenix Lord generally spends a certain amount of time (typically around a week, but more or less depending) in debriefing and discussing with the appointee. Upon the conclusion of this time, the new Phoenix Lord (persistent conspiracy theories aside) is inaugurated.

The former Supreme Imperial Master, Tomaster Mokidi, was assassinated by penguin cultists, and because there was no heir, a democratic election was held between the Barons of the Imperial Court. The voters were every member of the Senate, and Imperier Nwerol won the majority vote of the Senate.

It is required for a Prince or Princess to be married before he or she can take the thrown so Adam couldn't take the thrown. Until King Adam's wedding Chancellor Fredrick Cogsworth ran the Kingdom.

He possesses little power, with mostly ceremonial duties. The leader of the Chamber of Souls, composed of nobles and religious leaders is Grand Vizier Khemun Ptoleman, and his power is less even than that of the Pharaoh. The government is led by the leader of the Chamber of Beings, a democratically elected legislature, which is Chief Minister Khamut Abydon, the first female Chief Minister and of the Unity Party.
