King of Madabique Dead, New Government Takes Power
News broke late last night that the King of Madabique, King Afonso Dhlakama IV, has been executed by a group of men led by Field Marshal Joaquim Chissano who then went on to declare himself Supreme Leader and Representative of the Madabiquean People and established a new government. The Prime Minister has announced that he fully supports the plans by the United Nations of Pohlmania to establish elections so the people of Madabique can decide their leader.
There has been talks amongst military commanders of deploying the Queen Victoria Battle Group to keep an eye on the situation but there has been no official statements at this time. John Williams, a military analyst of The Kragenmoor Herald, told us that a special forces operation conducted by the King's Elite Rifles could easily topple the newly established government.
F-16 Purchase for Spare Parts
Commander Jane Kelsey, leader of the Royal Kragenmooran Air Force, announced in a press conference yesterday that the RKAF will be purchasing several F-16 Fighting Falcons from the Republic of Kelwona to be dismantled for spare parts. The F-16s, offered at lower than normal prices, are being sold as part of Kelwona's Military Reduction Act which plans to reduce their armed forces to a fifth of it's size.
