What does your nation's military excel in?
Size?
Technological Advances?
Tactics?
Etc..

The Rainarian Army specializes in Air Combat with technological advances at hand. We are also reliant with tactics.
Land Combat Comes Second,
Naval Combat Comes Third.
We are not such a big army though, but we are a size of OVER 9000! 1.4 Million in all military departments.

Being small.

We're not joking.

Looting, SAM systems, domestic preparedness and ECM equipment.
All with the ability to call up just about 10 million reservists from a country of 44 million.

Our nation's ground forces excel in close combat, with a weakness for long range combat. They also excel in minimizing collateral damage.

Our air force is meant for bombing key targets and getting Air Supremacy.

Our navy excels at sucking; no other nation can match our navy's raw talent for sucking. Outdated ships, Admirals still stuck in a WW2 mind set, among other things. Only thing they are any good at are small-scale raids, which is not official navy work.

We excel at speed and maneuvering, at least, we think we do.

We do excel at bringing the hurt on the enemy from above, everything from proton bombs, anti-matter bombs, napalm, toxic gas, and other things like that. Oh yes and orbital bombardment too and orbital nuking.

Our military excels in Reconnaissance, be it either in an urban environment, or a rural environment.
Likewise, we also excel in the Medical field of warfare as well.

In all frank seriousness, the Republic's military strives to be an all-round excellent defensive military force.

Langish infantry are especially well-trained, and known as skilled marksmen. This should come as no surprise in a country where shooting and hunting are the sports, and in which some of the more rural communities literally still survive partially on that which they can hunt themselves.

Marksmanship and hunting skills have led to a Sniper Corps which is actually quite good.

Regular field infantry are trained to be very coordinated, highly aggressive troops, capable of overwhelming the enemy with shock and massed force of fire.

Fighter pilots, those few we have, are also regarded as something of a martial elite. We have eighteen F-16C Falcon multirole fighters in active service, and only the best pilots in the Air Force may fly these.

Technological Advantage; being a technocratic nation of the highest caliber the Federal Military maintains a highly technologically advanced (and dependant) force.

The downside being situations in which you are forced to rely less on technology and more on brute force?

We're not incompetent; either. Merely because we have the best does not mean we do not know how to use the rest.

Officer competence, because even the simplest plans drawn up by our officers utterly overwhelm most forces we find ourselves against ((which has proven true throughout my years here at NS- I've met few who understand my plans even after I've executed them, and I can only assume their officers know even less, considering they're not omniscient like the authors)). The outstanding equipment, rather large numbers, and extremely superb training is just a bonus, because even with a massive mob of conscripts carrying half-century old AK-47s, our officers would still be able to come up with effective plans... just with more GWO casualties.

It's simply what people say, so I assume it must be true. I don't self-judge, too open to subjectivity.

Inflicting high causalities.

Pretty much good at nothing else. Terrible at holding ground. Terrible at taking ground.

The Imperial Ground Forces excel in the Mechanized wave tactic.

The Imperial Air Force- excels in nothing mostly because all of the planes are multi roled and can not excel in a certain area because of that.

The Imperial Naval Forces- excels in submarine tactics and size(400 odd subs)

The Imperial Special Forces Command- excels in overthrowing foreign country's.

Our military excels as a border patrol. Since the one law in the nation is "Do not attempt Escape", the defense force's main job (Besides defending against external threats) is to shoot people trying to leave and make overhead passes with the air force to further ensure escape is impossible.

Fast and deadly mechanized flanking maneuvers along with long-range precision rocket/tube artillery. Officer competence is one of the highest priorities also.

We excel in commando-type cross border operations and anti-terrorism. Our Special Forces Brigade also specialises in long-term covert direction of foreign proxies.

The Sol Bellan Armed Forces are known for their liberal use of autonomous Combat Drones. There are one or two for every six to eight man(and sometimes women) squad.

We also excel mainly in rapid deployment of forces and experience in Jungle/Forest/Mountain Combat.

....so to sum it up, the Army gets the brunt end of the glory stick, followed by the exceedingly-small SpaceForce, then the Air Force, then the Navy. The SpaceForce often supplants the Navy, Sol Bella preffering to overwhelm pirates with high-flying and invulnerable spaceships to small, perhaps even near-equally-matched sea vessels.
