Perhaps you have toppled empires, they on the other hand were not the absolute royal federation, the shining light of civilization itself and was not bringing our manifest destiny to bring civilization to those without it so any change to such a glorious thing is as you surely can understand simply destroying perfection, something that I am sure most federal subjects are quite aware of, and something that you foreign types would be better of with if you realised.

Our land forces barely excel in anything. Their unconventional ways, endurance, high morale and magical powers is balanced out by lack of any military knowledge and combat experience and complete technological backwardness - some militia ponies are armed with apple pie instead of ample firearms and warmachines are a rarity (not to be confused with the pony of the same name) and mostly are WWI tech at best.

Navy excels at being virtually non-existant - it consists of a few rusty ships scavenged from humans and a few modified airships. It also employs several dozens of Sea Serpents, but these are too cowardly and too conscious about their looks to fight anything of considerable danger. So yeah, pony navy sucks even harder than Goldsaver's. But, to our defence, our homeworld of Equestria has no seas or oceans, so we had no need for a navy back there...

Airforce is the pride of our military. It's made up of well-trained pegasi, mighty and brave griffons, gigantic flying battleships and flame-breathing dragons. It excels at being about 20% cooler than the rest of the military.

Non-pony forces are made up of various non-pony species, each excel in their own ways. Zebras are great field medics and nurses, using their ancient knowledge of alchemy to heal the frontline ponies of the most grievous of wounds or amplify their combat performance with various potions. Buffalos are excellent shock troopers, possessing massive size and weight, sometimes even used as mobile weapon plaforms by smaller ponies. Diamond Dogs are good stealth attackers, able to travel underground easily. They also make average frontline footsoldiers, who are strong, agile and able to use scavenged human weapons due to their humanoid stature, but are prone to running away at the sight of the slightest danger. Dragons, as already stated above, make for a extremely powerful addition to the Airforce and Sea Serpents make for an useless addition to the Navy.

That the American victory during the Revolutionary War and the North Vietnamese victory during the Vietnam War are quite similar, and both resulted in a suitable ass kicking of the unconventional forces (American minutemen and Vietcong) by the respective better nations (British Empire and United States).

And that the British Empire would have won, if it weren't for the French; and that the United States would have won if it were for the USSR and PRC.

Overall, the American victory was hardly American, but French.

We still use 1940s Aircraft Carriers and Battleships. Only modern ships we have are Missile Cruisers, Subs, and small boats used for raiding. And we are pretty sure the only people who sign up for our navy are cowards who want the benefits of military service without actually being sent anywhere, as well as the odd pervert.
