A man of honour, pride, and blowing up warehouses with science, Dr Katsumoto can do everything. In his third week at his first university, he managed to solve the entirety of quantum theory by pointing out that the cat had probably escaped by now.* He is also one of the very few Villagers who understand how the internet works, and don't crash the whole worldwide web by attempting to e-mail it to their sister. Mrs Figgis insists that that was not her fault. He enjoys surfing the web to find out the current news and world affairs, and he also partakes in many online courses. Thus he is a world-renowned Krav Maga specialist (he learned that using the web-book Krav Manga).

He is also a disaster specialist, although no-one knows why. Thus he has plans prepared for when he, and the rest of the Village, face a number of scenarios, such as a giant 19' porcupine being let loose from a zoo somewhere, or a tidal wave travelling a couple of hundred miles inland and swamping them.

Mr Moriplo, 18, is one of the younger farmers of the Village, but still just as ready to fight his corner and prove his worth. He considers his age to be no hindrance to his ambitions, which are mainly to continue doing the farming work that he loves. He has a tendancy to chew blades of corn and rock on the chair on his porch, waving a shotgun around, but he'll probably get over this.

Mr Moriplo is not only a farmer. He also set up the Village Fight Club. Rule one of Fight Club is that you do not talk about Fight Club to Mrs Figgis. Rule two is that you DO NOT talk about Fight Club to Mrs Figgis. The second rule was implemented after Mrs Figgis found out about the Village street racers, and the Wrath of Mrs Figgis promptly fell on the unfortunate racers like a millstone made of lead.

He enjoys reading, and, as a subset of that, writing, and has won the Village Literature Prize three years running.

His creativity extends further than this, as he also plays the piano so beautifully that it is said that the stars cry when he performs. To cultivate this mystique, he only performs at his true best when it is both night, and raining. This talent has won him the admiration of a good many Johzian girls, whom he entertains by playing some of his more ribald pieces.

Mr Burke, the fastest Villager on two legs, trains hard to ensure his sprinting ability is of the highest calibre. Equally, he finds that his joints need a certain amount of lubrication. Oddly enough, he manages to find both of these things at the pub, drinking his beer among a slower company. Nonetheless, he is still extremely strong, quick, and generally quite athletic.

His exceptional body is certainly a winner for the girls. He enjoys encouraging their company, and they certainly recipriocate this, although not after races until he's showered.
