A Village of Johz RP runs parallel to this thread. You do not need to join the RP to get your FREE character bio, but it might be fun. However, to join the RP you must have a character bio from this thread. See this post for more details.

The Village of Johz has become a famous, well-loved force for good around the world, and now you too can take your place as a Johzian Villager.

For those absolute weirdos who must have been living in a cave for the past year, here is a brief attempt to sum the entirety of the Village of Johz into just a few words:

Founded in the early 1900s after a local historian realised that the Village could become an independent nation. In 2010, an official Foreign Minister was hired, and the Village made vast leaps onto the international scene with a féte that was invaded by a submarine-led New Amerik force. The Village has also played host to a football tournament, and in his spare time, the Foreign Minister likes to hide in the WASB. The favoured drink of most locals has an alcoholic content above 100%, and Mrs Figgis, the head of the Flower Rota runs the whole Village with an iron fist and a green thumb. More information is available at the official NSWiki page, and, although it isn't entirely finished, it should give you some sort of idea as to what sort of place the Village is.

Now it's your turn. I need characters. I've realised I'm relying far too much on my Big Three, and I want to explore some of the other characters' stories and histories, as well as get an idea for the dynamic and complex web of relationships that spans the Village. I want to meet the rest of my Villagers.

Despite his young physical age, Mr Wauby-Tolly already shows signs of the greatest strain of old age, that of waking up and realising that you really are that grumpy. Indeed, it whenever two or more elderly gentlemen gather in one place, Mr Wauby-Tolly is nearby, usually because the group is gathering in the local pub, the Green Olive Arms, of which Mr Wauby-Tolly is the proprietor. Indeed, where else would they meet? The park? Don't be silly, there's no alcohol there, and there's young people.

Despite being the pub's landlord, Mr Wauby-Tolly is most definitely an introvert, much prefering his own company to that of anyone else's. No-one is entirely sure what he gets up to in his hours alone, but it is known that the racist magazine 'Down With Foreigners', written by a 'Mr Ally Buywot' has certainly been traced to someone in the Village...

No-one is quite sure why Mr Garrow, one of Thinister's most feared colonel, retired to the Village, but it was very quickly decided that it would be a very good idea not to ask. Mr Garrow is known to keep himself to himself, although Villager regularly see him wandering the hills of Johz and nearby Thinister. He is one of the few people in Johz to actually own a gun, making him the Defense Minister for the Village, a job which has never really been needed.

His other passion is gardening, a hobby which has, perhaps unfortunately, made him the only male on the Flower Rota. His natural affinity for vegetables means that he has arranged displays for the Harvest service for the past 32 years.

Mr Stephens, popularly known as The Meat Cleaver, is the Village's only amateur wrestler. Due to not having very few opponents, Mr Stephens has had to find alternatives, and can be found regularly wrestling sheep, cattle, and Mr Williams Snr. after his medication has kicked in. Indeed, if anything were to need being wrestled, Mr Stephens is the one to go and get it done.

The other thing Mr Stephens is known for is his gentlemanly attitude to life, taking it as it comes, and generally ensuring that the fairer sex don't have to take too much of the brunt of it. His ability to flirt in an entirely chivalrous and gentlemanly manner has made him a popular man amongst the ladies, especially those who haven't been flirted with since they were in their twenties, at which time men didn't flirt, but instead wooed.

Ms Vultra, daughter of yet another Mayoral affair, was raised around the world by her mother, until her mother got a proper acting job, and dumped Li, at the age of thirteen, with her father, the Mayor of Johz. Both of these experiences have shaped Ms Vultra into the young woman she is today: Proud, sexy, and extremely arrogant. While many of her prefered activities have been cut short (nightclubs are extremely lacking in villages, especially the upmarket ones that young aristocratic type people go to...) she has managed to make new hobbies, such as bullying poor people.

She is also extremely intelligent, and will almost certainly go on to be a major politician. She looks up to Mr Newman for the fact that he has had good diplomatic training, but understands that, as soon as she's finished studying, he is deadmeat. Mr Newman just detests her, but then he detests most people in the Village, as well as a large proportion of those out of the Village.

Mr Jameson left the Village at the age of 19 to pursue a military career. However, at the tender age of 23, an explosion, which killed many of his friends and comrades, left him both physically and mentally scarred. When he first arrived back, it took many years of hard work to bring him back into something resembling normal life, and even now he struggles.

In an effort to combat his PTSD, Mr Jameson decided to pursue some sort of career, to the point that he is currently an odd-job man, one step away from handyman, his true goal. His charming, yet slightly shy personality is well-liked by all who hire him, although he wishes that people would stop treating him differently due to his injuries, which these days amount to little more than a slight limp.

I swear this has changed...

To describe Mr Blanc as clever would be akin to describing a quasar as 'somewhat brighter than a candle'. In fact, Mr Blanc is one of the brightest minds the Village, and maybe even the world, has ever known. By seven, he had already come up with a satisfactory proof for the P=NP? problem, and was working on the Elam conjecture, when, in a sudden flash of inspiration, he realised that theoretical physics was the way to go.

After providing a detailed unified theory at the age of 11 for the Hall Effect, he was quickly invited in to Thinister's top university, where he stayed for a semester, before leaving, citing the fact that they 'talked about as much nonsense as Wikipedia'. He then started work on combining known laws of Quantum Dynamics with macro-physics, a topic which has consumed his academic life ever since.

His hobbies, perhaps unfortunately, include three-player chess, which he finds hard to get volunteers for. However, he has recently, in association with resident evil genius Professor Doom, designed a few simple programs to play chess against, but these are very easy, and they only beat Deep Blue II on a technicality.

It cannot be denied that everyone loves Mr Quantum. Popular with children, friendly with the elderly women, a good chum to the men of the village, and a listening ear for the housewives, Mr Quantum is known to everyone. He spends most of his day walking, occasionally eating the packed lunch that he always carries around in his rucksack, and very often whistling, be this on the rolling hills that surround Johz, or strolling down the Village's High Street.

His relationship with Mr Ghanian, the Village's resident foreigner, has always been quite strained, not by any anger or dislike for each other, but by the fact that Mr Quantum has picked up the idea that Mr Ghanian is foreign, and therefore is unable to use many twenty-first century conveniences such as the toilet, or even armchairs, due to ignorance. While this is clearly not true, Mr Ghanian is not about to shatter Mr Quantum's illusions any time soon.
