The Republic of Ohneka is led by a Prime Minister and a fifteen-member congressional legislative body: The Council. All citizens of Ohneka are required to serve in the National Ohnekan Armed Forces upon reaching the age of eighteen, and may be honourably discharged (if requested) at the age of twenty-one. The Ohnekan Constitution mandates that the Prime Minister is the sole commander of the military.

Ohneka is divided into five districts, which each contribute three members to The Council. Each have unique qualities and must provide the federal government with soldiers and taxes.

The current Prime Minister is Alexander Keene.

1553: Native people in what is now the nation of Ohneka establish a foreign relations council; though not fully united, the natives grew in prominence and importance in the area, and eventually became the strongest group in the region.
1577: The Tribe of Hejate, in a land dispute, declares war on the Nation of Dahkeda. Both are in the Sacred Council, the body described above. Both are heavily sanctioned and punished. Through the acts of other members of the Sacred Council, the Native Genocide begins, and both tribes are heavily killed off. Mass killings of women, children, and men of the Hejate and Dahkeda groups commence. Afterwards, the Sacred Council creates a federal body to rule all native groups within the Council. It is often considered the begginings of Ohneka.
1629: The Nation of Jerekk attempts to secede from the Sacred Council. In a four-year long war, Jerekk is forcefully kept within the Council.
1633: At the end of the Sacred Civil War, a monarchy is established to rule over the bodies of the Sacred Council. Ohneka is born.
1754: Population booms. European settlers, new technology, higher birthrates, and land expansion all contribute to what is known as the Zainada Boom.
1833: The province of Mekhii attempts to secede from Ohneka. After a bloody war, Mekhii is kept within Ohneka and harsher restrictions are established on the people of Ohneka. A new plague, Mulfaria, ravages the nation. King Hu'Jai, often considered the most insane and horrible King of the continent, rises into power. The nation experiences an extremely dark period.
1875: King Hu'Jai is assassinated by an unknown citizen while the King was travelling to the western side of the nation. Chaos ensues, but after two months, a peaceful republic is established. The modern state of Ohneka is born.
1934: Though the plague grew much smaller, a cure and vaccine for Mulfari is found. Citizens rejoice as the nation experiences a golden age.
1954: The New Balta stock market crashes. Banks close. The nation enters the New Balta Depression; the worst economic downturn in the nation's history. It lasts until 1971.

The Territory of Kontirio (Florida territory) was conquered in 1644 by monarchist soldiers of Ohneka. Though the territory is not represented in The Council, it holds the Port Khela naval base, often regarded as the second most-important naval base in the nation, after the National Port of Pele.

The capital of Kontirio is the city of New Lahkina, which is also its largest city. Citizens of Kontirio, though not represented in The Council, are given full citizen rights and are allowed to vote for the Prime Minister of Ohneka.
