Most people, including the King, do not carry weapons while travelling inside the World-Ship or even when planetside. In general the society is open.

Our Kaiser is as sociable as every other citizen on our planet. Though he has a uniformed bodyguard to accompany him in public, our Kaiser is free to talk to anyone he damn pleases.

For extra-Tantalans, however, it is rather difficult to integrate into our society due to our history of isolation. Discrimination DOES exist, though not as abrupt as other civilizations, and our large population should suffice to deter any potential immigrants. We have an open door policy, yet few take the advantage of entering our massive economy.

IC: Southron is an open society. The Ducal family frequents public locations, as do nobility, with the yeomanry. No Duke has ever required a security detail amongst the citizenry due to their general popularity. Citizens are very friendly and neighborly with each other, and nobles host many braai for people in their area and tend to get to know them.

The Emperor can walk amongst the public if he wishes, but he carries his own sword and pistol. Monarchs of Celritannia have always fought on battlefields, regardless of their own lives, they can protect themselves. However, the Emperor does walk with his personnal guard, the First Master, the senior NCO of the Empire, and only one at any time, he or she is appointed by the Emperor/Empress personnaly.
The 4 Chancellors will always carry sword Canes and a pistol in their pocket, they hardly have security around them, same goes for the Ministers.
The Empire also has a national gendarmerie or the Imperial Constabulary Guard as well as the Imperial Law Enforcement (Police) who patrol the streets.

True, true. Langenbergers carry often as well, some openly, others not. If you come here thinking you're going to have a good time breaking the law in Rube-land, think again.

We're unusually respectful of the privacy of well-known people. Even someone like Justin Bieber could walk through the street or ride a bus and for most of the part he would be totally ignored.

It's the same with politicians, but senior officials like the President and Prime Minister tend to travel under guard.

Prime Minister Tony Bacon regularly travels by train between Ankh Morpork and his constituency in Oteil, Kerrighan. He goes in a first class compartment, and the entire front carriage is guarded. This causes inconvinience for first class passengers, because they have to be searched by guards before entering the front carriage, but they get to talk to the Prime Minister during their trip.

This. The President and the PM don't always stay in their respective offices, moreso the former as he is the Head of State. When they are outside their offices, they are always under the watch of the Gendarmerie's Command Security Group, even if they carry pistols of their own.

Considering that the average CE Visayan conceal-carries, a criminal would have to be suicidal to cause havoc, and any attempt at lese majeste often ends up with the would-be killer shot on the spot, be it by the maitre d', any guest, a Gendarme from the CSG, or (if the attacker was most unfortunate) the President (in less likely cases, the PM) himself.

No. Our immigration policies are very strict although more governed by ideology than by race. Lately, however, we've let foreigners into our country to expand our workforce. Most of them work in our (very) small private sector.

Her Royal Highness the Grand Dutchess of Beringovia is seen as rather aloof and unapproachable, due as much to long established customs and social norms as much as the continuous presence of the ceremonial Royal Guards. However, since she is little more than a figurehead, this has little to do with any actual concern for security.

In contrast, the Prime Minister and other high government officials are very accessible to the public. They generally drive their own cars to work, without chauffers, have listed telephone numbers, and some even keep regular "visiting hours" during the week where a consititutent can just drop by. Of course, not being burdened with being "symbols of the state," frees them to go on with the business of running the country.

No terrorist attacks have occurred in Planta Genistius society, and we have not been involved in a war since he late 1800's. As a result, Planta Genista is very open. Take for example the King himself goes jogging every morning with no security. He even stops and talks to daily citizens in the morning.

We fear nothing and have nothing to hide, so we are an open society. Of course, our Shôgun Yukimura Sanada does have a private life (he's going to get married soon), and he would rather avoid the public eye when he's not devoted to the matters of State. However, he won't give the people any kind of scandals. He stands as a natural leader for the people, and leads by example.

Terrorism is unknown in Samuraikoku, since we have no problem with any nation. We've had enough trouble with war in our Sengoku Era.
