Besides the usual internet trolls, what sort of trolls, orcs, goblins, or other such creatures live in your region? Are they real, or legendary, or possibly somewhere in-between?

Modern: As a region only recently transforming away from psychotic dictatorship, and lacking significant communications infrastructure, there are few internet trolls due to a general shortage of the internet. No non-human creatures live in this realm, but legends tell of a green-skinned race of marauders whose society was based upon nothing but warfare and brutality. They are described as being generally taller than a man, and twice as heavy. No archaeological finds support the stories of the massive ancient battles described, however, and these legends are usually dismissed as corrupted oral histories of ancient nomadic barbarian humans. Other legends tell of small goblins in the mountains, battling dwarves in the caverns and mines. These races are both considered legendary as well.

Future: Our enemies include what are basically WH40K Orks.

There are no trolls of non-internet kind here, but Diamond Dogs come pretty close. They live in underground labyrinths and collect gems, which they have an unhealthy obsession with, sometimes coming out to kidnap the surface dwellers and use them for slave labor. They are very territorial creatures who possess sharp senses, even sharper claws and ability to craft simple weapons, tools and armor, but they are also known for their cowardice: from a lowliest grunt to the pack's alpha, Diamond Dogs will run and hide in their hollowed tunnels at the sight of the slightest danger.

Trolls are the biggest sapient species living in the absolute royal federation and can easily surpass two meters of hight even if they normally stop growing at 2.30 meters.

Just as expected so are they also blessed with a strength to boot and they can even take on a human in single combat would they wish to do so and with the aid of their thick bones so are they able to take quite the beating even if they were not blessed with the ability to think and they do have a intelligence that would normally be reserved for children.
