Which is Asian, but no. India is Indian, they didn't exactly colonize much, so my history can't really originate from there.

I figured you just meant 'based off' a RL nation. Obviously you'd be based off an RL culture, but actually coming from an RL nation is kind of dumb.

I wrote this not too long on my regional message board: ... Every country in the world, whether in NationStates or the real world, has a vast history so complex that it can't just be "made up". Every culture or NationStates, whether you agree with it or not, is somehow based on a real life culture.

Obviously, if my nation was colonized by another real life nation, I will add my own twist on it as it will most likely develop differently from, let's say China, but overall the bases will be the same.

What? I was just throwing out some plausible ideas for a back story. There can be a revolution, some famines, economical collapse, perhaps even a civil war.

What they're trying to say is: You could base your nation off a RL one or a mashup/altercation of a RL one, but that DOES NOT inherently mean your citizens originated from that RL country, purely that your original, made-up nation has a similar style.

Basically, but I would still like my nation to start of somewhere where I don't have to write a gazillion articles explaining the origin. Perhaps a split off from an old country, or neighbors of the country. I don't know. Since Eurasia won the poll, I think I'll stay with a Eurasiatic country. Possible migrants from some Slovak nation way back when.

Why not just take the third or fourth road and make it South- or North American or even African? That way you don't have to worry about following any footsteps (good or bad) of any regime of the past. Make your own way and all that.
