We are somewhat isolated from the rest of the world, but we are trying to change that by extending the hoof of friendship to earthling nations.

Langenberg generally maintains a policy of partial isolation, the main exceptions being trade and small acts of diplomacy. We leave others alone, so long as they leave us alone.

The current government of Isla Salvador does indeed practice isolationism. The government believes in focusing all of its resources into advancement within its own borders, yet remaining at peace with foreign countries by avoiding potentially dangerous entanglements of foreign agreements. Additionally, the nation is partially isolated due to being an island nation.

Because they practice isolationism, the government respects these policies in other nations.

Yes; many times in it's expansive history the Chinese Empire has practiced a policy of isolationism and been officially isolated.

Does your nation respect the isolationist policies of foreign nations?
Yes; why wouldn't we?

Having escaped our original homeworld of Terra during the Third Great War, our Eternal Kaiser led us to the light many lightyears away from our dying planet. Lacking foreign investment of any kind, our Eternal Kaiser forced it upon himself to develop industries of our own so as to preserve as much Terran knowledge as possible. Needless to say, industrialization did work at the expense of the environment, and Tantalus today has even exceeded the Terran technological ceiling by developing the long-fabled Alcubierre Drive and other previously impossible technologies thousands of civilizations could only dream of.

However, Tantalus officially maintains a policy of non-Intervention despite our technological boom for our own reasons, one being that we do not want extra-Tantalan infidels contaminating our cultural, religious, and political institutions with their heretical beliefs which diminish the importance of respect, advancement, and self-determination.

Our nation was occupied in 1888, and was not freed until 1897. After this, our people began to feel as though they could not trust other nations, which resulted in the "!901 Isolation Act" which lasted until this year (2011). Even now, our people are worried about the presence of foreign powers in our nation, and we remain semi-isolated from the world.

Makaar has never been isolationist; indeed for a good portion of our recent history (ca. 1680-1940) we were imperialist, maintaining an empire overseas and generally interfering with the internal business of other nations for our own gain.

The empire has since been dismantled, but Makaar has not adopted an isolationist viewpoint; indeed, we continue to interfere, contributing troops to humanitarian efforts across the globe and even engaging other regimes in combat where they pose a grave threat to international security or to the rights of their own citizens.
Makaar is ranked 323rd in the world for Most Dedicated Public Healthcare.
Makaar is ranked 272nd in the world for Largest Welfare Programs (per capita).
Makaar is ranked 408th in the world for Nicest Citizens.

No; since its establishment, the union has strived to bring the light and glory of civilization, liberty and equality to the rest of the world.

we, unlike the bourgeoisie, have nothing to lose and therefore our expression will be the only honest one, our words will be the only challenging ones and our art will be the one revolutionary expression. Oh, absolutely. It's only recently that New Lyrane has cautiously opened its borders to limited interstellar trade and tourism. Many Lyranians are still quite xenophobic, and see the rest of the universe as one big wretched hive of scum and villainy.

So naturally we also respect the isolationist policies of other nations.

our economists generally agree that foreign trade is a pro-growth policy and we thus strongly support it. isolationism would interfere and thus is not done.

you, however, are welcome to be as backward as you wish. we won't interfere. however, should your government be endangered or toppled, we won't interfere with that either.

When Frenequesta was known as Joplinia-Lambscott, it was in a de facto state of isolation for its last twenty years. Five years before that time, the joint venture under which we originally had to do all our trading with was disbanded, and because only that venture at the time had the capital necessary to conduct trade between Earth and our old planet of V022471, we were essentially left to our own devices. There was talk about the venture bringing the Joplinians back to Earth as they did with the other five planets they colonized and exploited, but since we were our own independent nation with our own enterprises, it was presumed that we could be self-sufficient. However, the fears that our standard of living would immediately collapse led us to over-exploit our own planet.

Today, Frenequesta has the technology for nearly any company to conduct interstellar trade relatively cheaply, and have embraced relatively open commerce between the nations of the Multiverse. Except, of course, for a couple tariffs and "ethical" provisions here and there...

We generally believe a country that believes that it alone can provide for all of its citizens is rather haughty, selfish, and, in the end, self-destructive. However, we do not bully other nations into opening their borders (though some markets that refuse to be opened might see an advertisement or two toting the benefits of trading with us...)

Has your nation ever held a policy of isolationism, or ever been officially isolated?
Yes, in Dagnia's first 10 years, we were isolationist. When our solar system was colonised, exploration of other planets was strictly controlled by an organisation that would not allow the kind of colonisation we had in mind (a deliberate brain drain). The planet and solar system chosen were habitable, but still harsh, with few resources and on the outer rim of the galaxy. Colonisation had to be in secret. Once the colony was established, it had to be given a few years to develop a defense. After 10 years, we made our existence to the galaxy known.

Does your nation respect the isolationist policies of foreign nations?
Yes, as long as there is no internal conlict that is spilling onto us or they are not harbouring terrorist organisations.

For quite some time, yes. But, for obvious reasons, that stance has been withdrawn and we try to play an active part in the World, it's economy, and politics alike to form a safer place to live and prosper for all.

Mostly yes, diplomatically. Beyond a number of ventures made to establish relations with countries across the Galaxy, we are largely isolationist.

Parhe has until recently played an isolation policy.
If the country is bordering Parhe, we do not respect their policy, otherwise, we do.

For 30 years completely isolated and officially still isolated- although delegates are now send to juggle international trade (only import) and global politics.
