Politics and Governance:
What are is your nation's predominant view on the following; be as detailed as you please but a simple agree/disagree is adequate. (If you would, please answer directly after or below the bold brackets in normal font)

Section 1. Political Philosophy:

Democracy:the basis of civilized society
Representative Democracy: a weak form of democracy
Direct Democracy: the ideal form of democracy
Monarchy: in itself immoral and wrong
Absolute: hereditary dictatorship
Constitutional: the illusion of democracy
Oligarchy: ideological dictatorship
Republicanism: (depends on which interpretation of the term you ask)
Dictatorship/Totalitarianism: must be opposed at all costs.
Fascism: see: Dictatorship
Anarchism: basic concept of freedom
Anarcho-Capitalism: sounds oxymoronic
Anarcho-Mutualism: good idea
Anarcho-Communism: utopia
Socialist Vanguard State: partly a good idea.
Theocracy: see: Dictatorship
Secularism: one of the basic ideas of general freedom
Authoritarianism: a weak form of dictatorship
Libertarianism: see: Republicanism
Conservatism: hinders progress
Progressivism: good idea
Militarism: inherently wrong
Pacifism: same as militarism, adding the element of stupidity
Nationalism: idiocy
Internationalism: one of the bases of our nation
Individualism: must be balanced with collectivism
Collectivism: must be balanced with individualism

Section 2. Economic Philosophy:

Capitalism: greed as a base of society, inherently wrong.
Communism: a good approach to actual freedom
Socialism: a good approach to actual freedom
Free Market/Laissez-Faire Economics: see: capitalism
Mixed Market/Third Way Economics: the economic system of Vorond. May not be perfect, but works.
Centrally Planned/Controlled Economics: leads to desaster
Gift Economics: idiocy
Traditional/Primitive Economics: idiocy
Agrarianism: idiocy
Corporatism: could be interpreted as similar to Third Way, but on a more authoritarian scale
Welfarism: failed approach
Syndicalism (Trade Unionism): lacking integration of all workers
Globalization: economic internationalism
Free Trade: capitalist trade, see: capitalism
Fair Trade: the only kind of trade acceptable
Protectionism: neccessary
Feudalism: medieval nonsense
Environmentalism: partly neccessary, but many followers are crazy
Consumerism: idiocy
Racism: the most dangerous form of criminal stupidity
Multiculturalism: enriches all

Section 3: Social Policy & Freedoms
What is the Legal Status of the Following Social Issues?

Private Property: mostly illegal
Freedom of Speech: guarranteed by constitution
Freedom of Association: guarranteed by constitution
Gun Ownership: not legislated
Abortion: guarranteed by constitution
Gay Marriage: guarranteed by constitution
Alcohol: 17 years and above
Tobacco: 17 years and above
Drugs: (too general to actually have an answer)
Cannabis: 17 years and above
"Soft Drugs": (definition?)
"Hard Drugs": illegal, heavily punished

Censorship: see: Freedom of speech
Prostitution: illegal, moderately punished
Slavery: illegal, heavily punished. virtually unheard of in Vorond
Age Of Consent: 17
Freedom of Religion/Conscience: freedom from religion is a constitutionally guarranteed right

How do your people as a whole view the following topics/people?

Section 1

Politicians: we all are, to a part, politicians.
Musicians: entertaining, and culturally relevant
Art: a big part of Voronda identity
Military: conscription is mandatory
Religion: is illegal, and rightly so. This kind of stupidity will not be tolerated here.
Freedom: ...is good?? (wtf are you actually asking?)
The Clergy: the what? We extradited a bunch of priests to wherever they wanted to go in the 90s.
Your Leader: was elected the second time this year
Entertainment: ..is entertaining? mostly so if involving weed and girls, lol
Happiness: should be archievable for every voronda citizen
Love: ...is good?? (strange question)
Government: we all are the government, merrily governing ourselves.
Environmentalism: you mean them treehuggers? Crazy they are.
Animal Liberation: is illegal.
Industrialism: is partly neccessary
Work Ethic: meh
Oil/Natural Gas: we have, and we don't export.
Green Energy: should be used instead of other kinds

Section 2

Freedom of Press: guarranteed by constitution, provided the editorial has the sources and so on... can't have the journalists running amok, writing lies.
Freedom of Assembly: guarranteed by constitution...but if for instance some nazis try to abuse it things will get ugly
Freedom to own Guns: what do guns have to do with freedom?
Freedom of Religion:

Religions are dangerous and idiotic in their belief in things that cannot be proven. It is strictly illegal to advertize them or to display symbols in public. To grow up free from religious indoctrination is a guarrantee of our laws governing schools, and religious organisations are generally illegal. Scientific reason is the base of civilisation, not this nonsense. Imagine if we still had the ancient customs, where would the registered life-partnership be...back then they called it a "marridge" or something and only permitted it between man and woman, can you believe that? Also they apparently said that having sex before entering that ceremony was somehow wrong and end you in eternal torture, what idiots! And we should allow people like this to enter our nation? To tell our kids they may not have fun, or they'll be tortured forever?

Universal Human Rights: depends on definition
Feminism: gender equality is guaranteed by the constitution.
Homosexuality: Sorry, man, I'm hetero, good luck and have fun.
The Elderly: they so0metimes say very strange things.
Social Support/Welfare: yes, I could go on state-help, but why?
Illegal Immigration: thats ther borderguards' problem. They have the tanks and helicopters after all.
War of Intervention: Dude, I met some guerillas from Stahlveria yesterday, they were in the training-camp here, Fort Guevara. Cool guys, but their home sure does suck. Sometimes I think we should send in our own army and get it done...help these poor fuckers to get rid of their king. Well...at least we train them, and get them better guns'n shit. Well...we had a smoke and a good time.

How does your nation view the Socialist world republic? Sounds good, why not consider joining us at the [region=Democratic Socialist Assembly]
Would you consider trade with us?sure, why not.

General Information

Nation Title: The Commonwealth of Novariea
Form of Government: Unitary Autocratic State/Benevolent Dictatorship
National Leader(s): Chancellor Isaac Hawke
Political Orientation: Socially Libertarian, Economically Moderate, Politically Authoritarian
Economic Orientation: Mixed Economy (Social Market Economy)

Politics and Governance:
What are is your nation's predominant view on the following; be as detailed as you please but a simple agree/disagree is adequate. (If you would, please answer directly after or below the bold brackets in normal font)

Section 1. Political Philosophy:

Democracy: An inefficient method of running a nation. Not abhorrent, but inefficient.
Representative Democracy: See above.
Direct Democracy: Even more so.
Monarchy: Good, if the monarch is just. Other forms of autocracy are preferred however, since hereditary succession does not guarantee leadership ability or competence.
Absolute: See above.
Constitutional: Fine, though a ruler can work better without such restrictions.
Oligarchy: Good, if the rulers are just, though it lacks the decisiveness inherent in having a single authority figure.
Republicanism: Meaning what exactly? If referring to merely the idea of having a head of state that is not selected hereditary, we approve of it. If meaning to envoke the more democratic connotations of it, we disagree, as noted under our response to democracy above.
Dictatorship/Totalitarianism: Dictatorship is not necessarily totalitarian. We approve of the strong and decisive leadership a dictatorship can provide, but we wholly disapprove of totalitarianism and the state's intrusion into the personal lives and suppression of the personal freedoms of its citizens without extremely good cause.
Fascism: We disapprove of totalitarian and xenophobic states, and Fascist states tend to be both.
Anarchism: Ridiculous and unrealistic.
Anarcho-Capitalism: See above.
Anarcho-Mutualism: See above.
Anarcho-Communism: See above.
Socialist Vanguard State: Unrealistic.
Theocracy: Abhorrent. Freedom of religion (or lack thereof) is essential. Personal religious beliefs (no matter how strongly held or by how many people) should not dictate government policy.
Secularism: Preferable. One of the marks of an enlightened society.
Authoritarianism: Fine, as long as it is not taken to totalitarian levels.
Libertarianism: We agree with most of the social aspects, but not the economic or political aspects.
Conservatism: Disagree.
Progressivism: Very much for.
Militarism: Acceptable if it is not taken to extremes. Being always prepared for war is a wise precaution, but violence and threat of military action is but one tool among many for an enlightened state, and violence should be avoided unless diplomacy and reason fail.
Pacifism: Noble, but foolishly over-idealistic.
Nationalism: Pride in one's nation is acceptable and even admirable to a point. When it is taken to the extremes of xenophobia, it is abhorrent.
Internationalism: Generally agree.
Individualism: Neutral.
Collectivism: Neutral.

Section 2. Economic Philosophy:

Capitalism: Good, if appropriately regulated.
Communism: Unrealistic in practice.
Socialism: Fine if not taken to extremes.
Free Market/Laissez-Faire Economics: Disagreeable.
Mixed Market/Third Way Economics: Agree.
Centrally Planned/Controlled Economics: Neutral.
Gift Economics: Seems unworkable except for perhaps in very small communities.
Traditional/Primitive Economics: Disagree.
Agrarianism: Disagree.
Corporatism: Disagree.
Welfarism: Neutral. A good government should provide for its less fortunate citizens, but people should not be allowed to become over-reliant on welfare programmes.
Syndicalism (Trade Unionism): Neutral.
Globalization: Neutral.
Free Trade: Neutral.
Fair Trade: Neutral.
Protectionism: Necessary to an extent.
Feudalism: Disagree.
Environmentalism: Neutral. Unnecessary harm to the environment should be avoided, but the environment is not a primary concern to us.
Consumerism: Neutral.
Racism: Abhorrent.
Multiculturalism: Agree.

Section 3: Social Policy & Freedoms
What is the Legal Status of the Following Social Issues?

Private Property: Yes.
Freedom of Speech: Yes.
Freedom of Association: Yes.
Gun Ownership: Legal, with few restrictions.
Abortion: Legal, and entirely the mother's choice.
Gay Marriage: Legal and non-taboo.
Alcohol: Legal.
Tobacco: Legal.
Drugs:
Cannabis: Legal.
"Soft Drugs": Some are legal.
"Hard Drugs": Illegal.

Censorship: Absolutely not.
Prostitution: Legal and regulated.
Slavery: Abhorrent and most definitely illegal.
Age Of Consent: 16.
Freedom of Religion/Conscience: Yes.

How do your people as a whole view the following topics/people?

Section 1

Politicians: Necessary. Though Novariean politicians are somewhat different from those in the average democracy, being appointed by the Chancellor and/or those higher up in authority that the Chancellor has delegated the responsibility to.
Musicians: A profession like any other for most. Especially good ones are generally appreciated though.
Art: Good art is generally appreciated.
Military: A strong military is necessary for the security of the state and people.
Religion: Generally seen as being somewhat silly and eccentric, though most are not hostile to it and any believers as long as they do not infringe upon the rights or beliefs of others.
Freedom: Extremely important.
The Clergy: Generally seen as being corrupt and self-important.
Your Leader: General approval and respect.
Entertainment: We do enjoy good entertainment, yes.
Happiness: A much praised and highly sought after emotion.
Love: See above.
Government: Strong government that protects and provides for its people while respecting their personal freedoms is excellent.
Environmentalism: Ambivalent. Protecting the environment from undue harm is a good cause, but it should not hinder development.
Animal Liberation: Ridiculous. While most would generally agree that unnecessary animal cruelty is abhorrent, animals are not sapient and therefore not deserving of the same rights as humans. They're also tasty.
Industrialism: Necessary for the expansion and advancement of any nation.
Work Ethic: Highly respected and approved of. We Novarieans do like our efficiency, and a motivated worker is an efficient one.
Oil/Natural Gas: Neutral.
Green Energy: Nice, but insufficient alone.

Section 2

Freedom of Press: A necessity.
Freedom of Assembly: A necessity.
Freedom to own Guns: Important. Novarieans may own and carry most firearms without restriction provided they are 18+ years of age, do not possess a serious criminal record, are mentally sound, and have passed the appropriate Firearms Safety and Operation Test.
Freedom of Religion: A necessity.
Universal Human Rights: Very much something we agree with. Any human (or other sapient lifeform for that matter) would have the same rights as any Novariean on our soil.
Feminism: Unnecessary in Novariea, but it and similar movements for equality are much approved of in places where such equality has not yet been achieved.
Homosexuality: A natural and entirely acceptable orientation. (The same goes for bisexuality, pan-sexuality, asexuality etc)
The Elderly: Deserve as much respect as anyone else. They should not be automatically revered because of their age, but judged on their individual merits, just like anyone else.
Social Support/Welfare: Necessary for a truly strong and benevolent state.
Illegal Immigration: Disapproval. Hardly necessary anyway. It's not very difficult to legally immigrate, unless you're a mass murderer or war criminal or other undesirable.
War of Intervention: Fine when it is in our interest to do so, or it is to halt atrocities in progress. For example, the average Novariean would be in favour of the NATO involvement in Libya.

How does your nation view the Socialist world republic? Neutral.
Would you consider trade with us? Perhaps.
