To All Relevant Parties:

It is with great pride that the Great People's Revolutionary Republic of Nantai wishes to announce the creation of the Tai'an National Information Index. This resource has been created with the authority and consent given by the People of the Tai'an Republic, with the ultimate aim of sharing our rich and bountiful cultural treasures with the rest of the world, so that they may partake in the wondrous joys of our socialist brotherhood. You are free to look around, and to use our own index formatting for your own purposes.
The Tai'an Culture is representative of many different cultures and ethnic groups that have formed one of the most endearing Socialist republics in Azhukali. With harmony and serenity tempered only by the rigid self-discipline and fervent religious devotion of our people, the national heritage that we cherish is one of great mystique. We do not expect outsiders to fully understand our customs, just as we would fall short in an effort to comprehend the nuances of each national identity that is set before us. On the contrary, we created this index to serve as a bridge, to where your people may begin to learn more about our people. In time, we hope that the bridges built here, even in so meek of a forum, could bear the fruits of prosperity and peace with all nations.
Once more, we would like to thank you for your vested interest in our glorious Republic. We welcome your comments and criticisms, and would be more than happy to sit down with representatives of your own country to discuss varying matters of political significance. If you have any questions or comments, you may contact us through our Foreign Mission's communiqué service at ForeignMinistry@gov.nan with your query! May the fortunes bless you with great joy and happiness.

With Much Admiration and Respect:

  • Communist Party of Nantai (CPN)
    Seats on the 2011 Chūō Iin-kai Naka Tai'an Sobieto Kaigi1: 01
    Seats in the 105th Ippan-tekina Asenburi Naka Tai'an Sobieto Kaigi2: 15
    Seats on the Tai'an Saikōsaibansho3: 01

The Communist Party of Nantai is a far-left organization devoted to the complete and total conversion of Nantai into a Horigome State, with single-party rule and complete Government regulation over all areas of political, social, and industrial life. Founded in 1962, the CPN is actually in its third iteration—it was originally founded in 1889, was outlawed by the Eulion Order in 1902, and was reconstituted in 1921 before dissolving do to internal strife in 1944. Though the Communist Party shares similar platform planks to its two predecessors, the current caucus has no direct ties to the previous two parties with their name. The Communist Party, because of its political ideology, does not organize or vote with other political parties in the General Assembly. As a result, the CPN advances only by the rallying of the people of Nantai to their cause. They have remained a mid-level organization influence-wise in their third incarnation, but have managed to place a representative on the Central Committee and a justice on the Supreme Court bench.

  • Labor Party of Tai'an Workers (LBR)
Seats on the 2011 Chūō Iin-kai Naka Tai'an Sobieto Kaigi: 03
Seats in the 105th Ippan-tekina Asenburi Naka Tai'an Sobieto Kaigi: 25
Seats on the Tai'an Saikōsaibansho: 02

The Labor Party of Tai'an Workers is a moderate-leftist organization devoted to the propagation of worker's rights and the continued socialist economic platforms implemented by the Tai'an Government through the Chiyo School of Socialist Theory. Originally founded in 1925 by an amalgamation of government industrialists, the Labor Party is the oldest active party in the General Assembly, and continues to devote its platform to the implementation of governmental regulation in all economic sectors of Nantai. Following the Great Panic of 2004, the Labor Party found itself in an intense political fight with the upstart Makoto-Yoshimasa Independent Party, who favored a shift from the Chiyo Doctrine to the more conservative Makoto-Yoshimasa Theory (hence the party's name). As a result, the Labor Party has lost a bit of its prestige in the spectrum of Tai'an Politics, but still remains a pivotal force to be reckoned with in the General Assembly.

  • Makoto-Yoshimasa Independent Party (MYIP)
Seats on the 2011 Chūō Iin-kai Naka Tai'an Sobieto Kaigi: None
Seats in the 105th Ippan-tekina Asenburi Naka Tai'an Sobieto Kaigi: 25
Seats on the Tai'an Saikōsaibansho: None

The Makoto-Yoshimasa Independent Party is a center-leftist organization devoted to economic deregulation under the auspices of the Makoto-Yoshimasa School of Socialist Theory. Founded in the wake of the Great Panic of 2004, MYIP has been identified by some political analysts as the closest thing Nantai has to a centrist party. Often advocating policies that stand in contrast to the general party lines of the other accepted caucuses, the Independents have become a very popular party amongst younger voters. Though they hold no seats on the Central Committee or the Supreme Court as of 2011, they have already become the second largest voting bloc in the General Assembly, and look to become the new Lead Coalition as early as the August elections.

  • Social Democratic Party of Nantai (SDPN)
Seats on the 2011 Chūō Iin-kai Naka Tai'an Sobieto Kaigi: 04
Seats in the 105th Ippan-tekina Asenburi Naka Tai'an Sobieto Kaigi: 27
Seats on the Tai'an Saikōsaibansho: 03

The Social Democratic Party of Nantai is a moderate-leftist organization devoted to the protection of the individual liberties and civil rights of Tai'an citizens. Originally founded in 1973 as part of the Tripartite Coalition Bloc with the Social Greens Party and the now-defunct Liberal Union Party, the SDPN served as the general opposition of the more economic-oriented Labor Party. With the caucus focused almost exclusively on social issues, the Social Democrats became a powerful new party bloc in Nantai. By the 1990s, dissatisfied supporters of the Social Greens Party began to flock to the SDPN, giving the party a majority in the General Assembly that it still holds today. The Social Democrats are considered to be the most influential political parties in all of Nantai.

  • Social Greens Party of Nantai (SGP)
Seats on the 2011 Chūō Iin-kai Naka Tai'an Sobieto Kaigi: 02
Seats in the 105th Ippan-tekina Asenburi Naka Tai'an Sobieto Kaigi: 08
Seats on the Tai'an Saikōsaibansho: 01

The Social Greens Party of Nantai is a far-leftist organization devoted to social justice and the protection of the Tai'an Environment. Originally founded in 1973 as part of the Tripartite Coalition Bloc with the Social Democratic Party and the now-defunct Liberal Union Party, the SGP began as a relatively moderate leftist organization geared towards the protection of civil rights and the environment. Over time, however, the Party began to move further to the left, refocusing its platforms largely on economic and environmental issues. Today, the caucus advocates for strong environmental regulations, including the promotion of policies aimed at reducing the emissions of greenhouse gasses, wildlife protection, and the exploration of renewable energy resources. Because of their more centralized platforms, a large degree of support for the Social Greens migrated to the growing Social Democratic Party beginning in the 1990s. Today, though they still hold seats on the Central Committee and on the Supreme Court Bench, the SGP is recognized as a declining political influence in the Tai'an Government.

The Great Revolutionary Army of Nantai

Introduction+
The Army of Nantai, known officially as the Great Revolutionary Army and colloquially as the Taitanzu (Titans), is the primary military branch of the Great People's Armed Services. The Taitanzu are the direct successors to the Imperial Dynasty Army of the former Tai'an Empire, having replaced the Empress's military guard in 1882. Prior to its reorganization as a standing professional army, the Taitanzu were a loosely organized band of militia and untrained volunteers who engaged in guerrilla warfare, a military tactic that was revolutionary for its time. With the advent of the Great People's Revolutionary Republic, however, military officials knew that an untrained militia could not be counted on to defend the country from every external threat—that the toppling of the Tai'an Dynasty was correlated to the crumbling regime more so than the military prowess of their militia.

As a result, the Great Revolutionary Army began an extensive buildup of its conventional forces, including an overhaul in the materiel and technology used in combat. Along with this overhaul came a process of reorientation towards the modernization of battle tactics known as Kōdona (literally, Advanced). This philosophy allowed military strategists to continually overhaul the Revolutionary Army along modern lines, adapting to the varying changes in the nature of warfare. Today, the policy of Kōdona is still used extensively, having served the Tai'an Forces well throughout their history. The Army serves today primarily as a deterrence force against unwarranted aggression from external threats. However, it employs a dedicated logistical force capable of carrying out strategic objectives throughout the globe. In this regard, the Taitanzu maintain the ability to assert themselves throughout a vast sphere of influence.

The Revolutionary Army implements advanced battlefield technology, including ultra-modern military equipment and a coordinated system of integrated combat networks that provide real time intelligence, telemetry, and guidance systems for land-based and conventional ordinance platforms to combat personnel on the ground and in the air. These networks are coordinated into the larger Tochi Senshi Komando Sentō Kumikyoku (the Land Warrior Command Combat Suite, or TASKUS), which allows the Taitanzu to implement greater force projection with less men and materiel. Headlong offensive engagement maneuvers have become virtual relics—their replacements rely on precision strikes and limited deployments to both preserve force of Army strength and to inflict greater levels of damage in less time to key military targets.

In 1982, the Taitanzu reorganized their Army structure to fall in line with advancing military tactics. In keeping with this strategy, the Army is currently organized into five command and control components: the Revolutionary Army Central Command (RACC), the Revolutionary Army Eastern Command (RAEC), and the Revolutionary Army Western Command (RAWC) are the primarily military divisions of the Tai'an mainland, with each Command organizing the defensive networks of their internal districts. The Revolutionary Army Overseas Command (RAOVER) is tasked with the organizational networks that coordinate all overseas military forces into a cohesive unit capable of real-time deployments. Overseeing base military operations is the Revolutionary Army Primary Command (RAPRIME), which coordinates both overseas and terrestrial military forces while also staffing the country's primary aeronautical defense grid in coordination with the Tai'an Air Force.

Army Uniforms+
The following section details the various uniforms of the Revolutionary Army of Nantai. There are twenty-five different kits used currently in active service, ranging from an array of combat-specific uniforms to individualized kits specifically created for specialists, such as doctors, chaplains, or pilots. Twenty-three of the twenty-five uniforms are considered Practical Service Kits, because they are generally in use frequently. The final two kits are considered Ceremonial Service Kits, because they are replicas of uniforms

Army Decorations+
The following section details the service ribbons given to Revolutionary Army Soldiers (and their units) for exceptional service in the line of duty. Military decorations in the Tai'an Army are done somewhat differently than in most military bodies—in Nantai, the military only awards commendation ribbons to soldiers on active duty. The physical medals or pins that accompany the decorations are handled exclusively by the General Assembly of Nantai, and only after a soldier retires, is honorably discharged from service, or is killed or lost in the line of duty are the physical medals actually presented. Personal service ribbons are worn on the right side of an enlistee's or officer's Ceremonial Dress Uniform. Unit citations and commendations, however, can be found on enlistee's and officer's Dress Uniform. There are thirty-five decorations available to both soldier and unit.

Army Organization+
The following section details the organizational deployment structure of the Tai'an Army. The Taitanzu utilize a special system of regimental and brigade groups called Basic Command Units, or BCUs. The purpose of the BCU Deployment System is to allow the Revolutionary Army to increase its force projection while preserving the integrity of its strength totals. Offensively, the system allows the Tai'an Army to engage more quickly and efficiently while simultaneously presenting a much smaller target for enemy forces to concentrate on. Defensively, the system allows for the Taitanzu to increase their defensive stopping power without stretching themselves too thinly, allowing for sufficient deterrence against aggressive enemy maneuvers. Additionally, the smaller deployment mandates cut down on military bureaucracy, placing the tactical leadership emphasis upon the commanders in the field, not with a government agency. The BCUs are essentially self-contained Army Groups, capable of sustaining themselves without the cumbersome logistical needs of larger divisions.
