Your Nation's Symbol

Postby Kalaspia-Shimarata » Wed Jul 20, 2011 1:08 am

The US has The statue of liberaty, Australia has the Harbour Bridge. What is the first landmark people think of when they think of your country (OOC:If this thread is still around, please direct me to it, but I could not find it so I assume it's not)

We have the Central clock.
We have the Central Clock located at Point Kalaspia-Shimarata. It is a hexadecimal, decimal clock, a 24 hour clock, a 12 hour clock and a Japanese clock and an Italian 6 clock in analog, a 12 hour clock and 24 hour clock in digital. It is also a binary clock and many sundials. In addition to the analog clock in the southern hemisphere, there is a second analog clock which spins anti-clockwise. There are a collection of sundials. Both the digital and the analog is writes am and pm. It is also astronomical clock, time bell which drops at midnight Greenwhich mean Time (Midday local time). It is also a world clock exactly like this:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Berli ... eituhr.jpg
exept it is split into 15 minute sections. If there is no 15 minute intervals, it'll be blank.

It is not only clocks that make this attraction significant, it is also a weather vein which tells you currnet and prodicted weather. It's centre is at the Kalashi 12 Point and has a special crystal which when it's noon, the sun light splits into 12 equal beams of 30 degrees revealing the each of the 12 boarders (OOC:If someone can give the name or a link that describes this, it'll be much appreciated /OOC). There is a second floor whic is so high up that have specially designed binoculars which when you look through them, you can actually see all around the world and look at the back of your head looking through those binoculars and you see yourself in real time!

Anyway, enough about my symbol. If you are facinated by it, come see it for yourself!
What is your national symbol?
Kalaspia-Shimarata's flag represents the Union between K&S. The dark blue represents the sea and the light blue represents the sky. In Kalashi language considers light blue and dark blue to be different colours. England colonised, and unified K&S, between 1774 and 1953, and English, light blue and dark blue are considered to be the same colour. Therefore, the contrast between dark blue and light blue represents the union, but the differences between K&S where as blue being two but simultaneously one colour represents K&S being two, but simultaniously one entity. The opposite to the symmetry represents the unity and indipendance of K&S, whilst also representing the Kalashi culture of opposite symmetry.KS is 75% Christian, hence the cross.

Our national symbol is a Mount Rushmore style carving of the Titan Prometheus breaking out of his chains.

The Burj Dagnia, a 2 kilometer high building. It houses several corporate headquarters, hotels, shopping malls, apartment complexes and nearly every other imaginable thing one would find in a city. It is considered a symbol of Dagnia and the nation's unbridled capitalism.

we don't really go in much for that sort of thing. i suppose the closest thing to it would the the underground maze and housing complex known as the wombsnugs of nebethira.
or the cavernous multi-level transport mode exchange beneath cameroi's one air and space port, located near lamajzethu, with its shops and libraries high above the platforms of a diversity of guideway based transport systems far below, and its arrival and departure mezzanine above that and immediately below the actual landing field.

i suppose you could say our lion-bears are too, though smaller then a kitterfly, and not nearly so impressive to look at, and which almost no one ever actually sees anyway, such is the psychic nature of their natural defenses. though their existence and their presence can be said to play a key, even vital roll, in cameroi culture.

Freuiharz Sculpture

Postby Wermaltan » Wed Jul 20, 2011 2:31 am

Aüsto Sambrie's sculpture of a bull, nicknamed Freuiharz by the local kids, was built in 1999 and represents our national animal, the Alpine Red Cow. It was dedicated by the Federal Chancellor as the first national monument after the Monuments and Memorials Act passed the Federal Assemblies. It was originally located at 1884 Avenue Rhesplausë in Merkiburg, Häsweit but after wheathering and vandalism it was repaired and moved to the National Museum in Urdmà.

The Happy Mermaid. Her name is Mamelli, the same as our capital city. Our capital city is located on the coast. Legend has it that sailors were searching for a Mediterranean like "promised land" from God. As the sailors got close, the Happy Mermaid led them to a vast field off the coastal land. This land resembled peacefulness, or Arbori. So, naturally, it was Arborlawn.

It is not only a national symbol, but the symbol of the king, the government, and a national official seal, as well as notary.

The national symbol - the Endara-Kyon Bridge, crossing part of Lake Enessé, it connects to a less-populous part of the capital of Enessé. The bridge is equipped with a museum, a culture centre, a library, a transit system which connects both ends and allows for quick travel, as well as several malls, offices and apartment buildings. It's also equipped with numerous parks, contemplative gardens and gives a wide range of scenic views over the lake and towards the capital.

It was constructed fifteen years after Fettel Lornacham came to power by Jaek Endara and Helene Kyon. For their work, both were awarded High Honour Unity Medallions.

In a poll of 1,000 tourists, 651 named the Super City Tower in Atrulia as the landmark that defines Tsvarchi to them:

Image

It is a mixed use building of 4267 meters in southwestern Atrulia in central Tsvarchi, just blocks away from the City-State of Zerake. The building was built on its own 'island' in the middle of a man made lake connected by the Sikhonia River.

I was going with something more along the lines of "ignore obvious nonsense", but if you'd like to post an explanation you should go for it.

The Front Range is most recognized for her grand, sweeping, snow-capped mountain ranges. Here's an example:
Image
Mt. Wilson, Colorado

As far as man-made structures go, either the Memorial to the Unknown Soldier on Avalon Hill in Harbor Grove, Four Corners Park in San Angelo, or possibly one of the great FRFL stadiums, Cloud Field in San Angelo or Admirals Stadium in Harbor Grove.

EDIT: Can't believe I forgot this last time, but the big snow formation shaped like an angel on Mount Shavano.

People think of Liger Platuea (correct the spelling), where the largest of one species of Ligers is concetrated. We have many species of Ligers but the platuea has the highest population of one species.
