Most of the requests received are denied, and the Officers' favourite reason for denial is either Section 27 or some other reason. For the few requests that are approved, the applicant is issued with some worthless propaganda, regardless of what they actually asked for.

What about in your nation????

There's no national government to request information from. Naturally, however, everyone has their secrets. If you want to find out, you'll have to work for it.

We are Anarchist, the closest thing we have to resemble "government" is the Worker's Committees and all records of the committees are available to all.

There is a similar act in Valcluse which allows citizens to access non-sensitive information which was not revealled to the public. Information which can be accessed include government reports, press statements (under the Official Information Act 1995, these are only released to official press journalists) and certain court records. Archive information, such as government documents, records of people serving in the government and film can also be access provided said information has been declassified. Certain court documents can also be accessed.

Military and sensitive information, like personal details are strictly forbidden. However, in recent weeks, the Minister of State is considering making minister's expenses declassified.

Yes, we have laws allowing people to request information from the government, and most requests are granted.
Wait an hour, and it will be now again

there are no proprietary secrets in cameroi, and the only military ones are the locations of certain defensive installations, which become quickly relocated should they become too common knowledge.
yes, we have defensive installations, without a standing military. there is no investment of authority in individuals and thus no incentive to conceal government deliberations after the fact of them.
council sessions are not normally open to the general public, but everything that takes place at them is recorded and publicly available within a day or two later. individuals not members of councils, are sometimes invited to participate in their session on matters which concern them personally and directly. so there is no information not already free, with that one exception, to request.
truth isn't what i say. isn't what you say. isn't what anybody says. truth is what is there, when no one is saying anything.

While there is no actual such act, the government has traditionally been very open and free with its non-critical information. At very least, if you ask, you'll be told why you can't have it.

Citizens do have the option to make such requests, but they are rarely approved. We could grant only limited information, like road condition map, map of schools / universities, number of government employees, but we never grant military statistics or maps, or war plans.

Under Xanthalian law, any government records that aren't classified are published for the public anyway, so there really isn't a need to request the release of specific documents. There is, however, a procedure for submitting petitions to declassify records, which are then ruled on by the nation's court system.
