Entemology
Andonam is adopted from the English adaption of the latien word andras, meaning Men, and the south-east Asian suffix Nam, meaning Land Of. While the original name for the new nation was meant to be the Siamese-Khmer Commonwealth of Man, that name died with the disbandment of The Provisional Council of Man, the new name being adopted for its more modern-sounding tone by the Patriarchal Government on April 14, 1992.

History
Andonam is a relatively young nation on the world stage, formed in the blazing fires of a rather easy revolution known as The Rising twenty years ago.
During the 1980's, after doing all they could possibly imagine to equalize females in the Western World, the feminist organization started to work on their ultimate goal; female domination. To do so, they brought in large numbers of Femi-nazis into the nations of south-east Asia, their twisted little minds thinking they could subvert the governments and unite the state. Sure enough, the combination of a economic downturn, a massive propaganda campaign (using cash donated for "Female equality causes" from around the globe), and the sheer weight of numbers, the Femi-nazi parties won vast majorities in Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Malaysia, and Singapore, uniting under "mutual defense treaty" to form the Matriarchal Alliance of Indochina on March 13, 1990.
Their victory was short lived, however, as the men quickly realized what exactly was going on. As such, and underground resistance formed from the first day a Femi-Nazi was elected head of state, offically declaring itself on June 11, 1990 as the Provisional Council of Men, subsequently declaring war on the Matriarchal Alliance and begining the Rising.
The Rising(As the Andomen call it), The Third Indochina War(As the official international classification goes), or The Oppression (Stated only in female supremist circles), lasted for a period of 2 year, 4 months, and 3 days, and went through four major stages, each broken by key battles. The first stage was primarily urban, guerrilla warfare, as the PCoM had not yet organized a large enough army and lacked the proper supply base to even support one. Major campaigns took place in the suburbs of Vientiane, Bangkok, and Hanoi, all of them seeing a woeful lack of skill on the part of the Matriarchal troops, and causing large numbers of towns, villages, and even a few cities in the North-eastern half of the subcontinent, to defect to the obviously superior ground forces of the PCoM. With this massive influx of men, supplies, and industrial potential , the PCoM where able to field a large, well-equip army for the first time, meeting a similarly sized Matriarchal Force on the northern shore of Lake Toni Sap on November 3rd 1990, carrying victory in a slaughter of over twenty-thousand Matriarchal troops.
Thus began the second stage of the war, where the Matriarchs began focusing on air and naval raids to destroy Male supply lines. The PCoM had captured some aircraft and ships from defecting bases, and had some men who ether had filled the air forces and navies before the feminists took over, or had some underground training, but ultimately the Matriarchs where to carry naval and air superiority almost until the end of the war, unskilled shipyards and parts factories under PCoM control constantly being behind schedule. To compensate for this and to allow better transport potential at wars end, the PCoM ordered the creation of a Great Inland Road from their main base of operations in Attapu, down to their front line base in Lop Buri. At the moment, the majority of lands east of the river Mae Nam Nan, barring Matriarchal holdouts in the cities of Kampot and Chon Buri, had defected to the side of the PCoM, but the lands within reach of Matriarchal Bombers in the Central Thai rainforests where in danger of being lost. The Great Inland Road was ment to bring anti-air releif, along with rations and reinforcements, to the troops stationed there. The road was completed on July 18th, 1991, and after a month of preperation, the forces stationed in Lop Buri launched a full assult on Bangkok, and although casualties where higher then at Toni Sap, the captured aircraft and river gunboats eased the pain rather well, and allowed them to support uprisings of men in northern Thailand, pushing the Matriarches down to the eastern shore of the Gulf of Thailand.
As the third portion of the war began, it was still far from over, and the strangest battles where still to be fought. Though they where running low on land, the Matriarchs still controlled every body of salt water in the area, as well as receiving a steady stream of reinforcements from female supremeists across the globe. However, all of that would soon change when the men of the Independent Provence of Hainan, a primarily Sino island with a rather substantial navy, passed a referendum for joining the war on the side of the Provisional Council, as well as adopting many of their practices. This was a virtual godsend for the tiny, rather overpowered Phallic Fleet, who at the moment didn't control much out of sight of the shoreline. The Hainian fleet abruptly set sail from their harbors on October 2nd and met with three blockading ships at the narrowist portion of the Gulf of Tonkan, leading to a series of minor naval clashes that freed up the Gulf and the East China Sea for trade, leading to built-up exports poring out and wealth being used to fuel a war-economy boom. It also opened up the path for Chauvist reinforcements from across the world, including the now-famous and well-decorated (but not state-sanctioned) Theseus Brigade from the citizenry of Greater Macedon, who would organize and lead the Siege of Singapore starting in on January 1st and lasting a grueling 8 months.
The Siege itself signaled the begening of the last phase of the war, but was one of the least bloody battles of the entire war. This was because, like it or not, the Masculine forces took the city by siege, not by storm. While the main Matriarchal forces where kept occupied by a unstable front on the fomer Thai-Myanmar border, a compitnent naval force under the command of Hanian admiral Minh Ming-Chang (Hanian would not be offically annexed into Andonam until the war's end), along with a sizeable, well trained force of land troops and artillery made a daring journey onto the southern coast of Northern Malaysia, setting their guns to the north and to the sea, shotting down anything that came their way. Unable to risk losing their land in the north for a single island, the Matriarchal government sat on their hands while their prized client slowly withered out of food, dead woman even being eaten before the last, battered hundred surrendered their city, shipyards, and basically everything except their backs (cloths where taken). Finnaly possessing the "Gibraltar of Asia" The Provisional Council declared a massive celebration on September 1, 1992, only to have their Grand-Pa and a good majority of the Council slain when one of the Matriarchs two carriers launched a bombing run on the city the very same day. The council was disbanded by midnight that night, a rather symbolic blow at this stage, but hard on the mind none the less.
However, the short-lived victory was hollow. By now, the writing was on the wall as the so-called diversionary force started making headway on the northern front, pushing battle-weary feminist forces down to the city of Songkhla, leaving only Northern Malaysia and a tiny strip of southern Thialand under the Matriarchal Alliance's control. While their navy and airforce was as strong as ever, only losing control of a relatively small bit of water, the Matriarchy had no liquid funds left to purchase fuel, leaving their boats stranded in port. Over the course of the next month, the Masculine forces ground down the last few bits of enemy troops, the final Matriarchal army surrendering their forces in the small town of Gemes on October 13, 1992, ending the war for all practical purposes. While several nations, particularly the more feminist ones, where reluctant to recognize the new Masculine government, they where forced to when the Matriarchal Alliance officially dissolved itself, leaving them no other options.
Since then, after the Masculine government set itself up in Brotherhood and elected the war organizer Louis Knight as their Grand-Pa, they have never quite gotten out of the economy they controlled during the war. Since their planning has produced rousing economic success, they have adopted Communism as their official economic policy, with the new influx of Hainan voters after the Province's annexation in late December making a good bit of that push. The first economic plan, set up for a decade of advancement, was known as the "Inventor's Parade", a push to out-tech the compotiton, economically speaking. This was a rousing success in nearly all sectors, other then computer hardware, which proved to be impossible to push their way into. Diplomacy and foreign relations outside Chauvinistic propaganda and overtures have been spotty at best, with their only major point being that they where the first nation to recognize the new government of The Islamic Republic of Amalstan after the official declaration of the Bin Hadeen Resolution, applauding them in their male-supremacy actions in the name of Shari Law, and now do a great deal of trade business with them. Other then this, they have major trade with nations the world over, mostly in software and foodstuffs, although they export some of virtually everything they produce. Major trade partners include Prussia, Macedon, and the Normandy Republic, while Denmark is by far their smallest market, as AVEE's main rival, White Droplet, has their stronghold there.
