The Front Range doesn't have a flagship for the entire navy; rather, any ship on which a flag officer serves is his flagship. I'm offering examples of the latest, greatest, and best known FRN warships from 1916, 1936, and present.

I'd also like to note, OOC, that if a ship's keel is laid in 1980 and she has 31 years of service, your nation is in about 2015. Major capital ships do not spring into being overnight. Also, why are so many NS nations still building battleships in the modern era?

Name - SNS Timnath Serah
Class - Timnath Serah-type. Official Front Range policy held that a class was always named the lead ship, and her sister Invincible beat her to commissioning by about six months. However, the naval brass much preferred the name Timnath Serah, as Invincible was named for an old prize and not seen as a very "Front Range" name. They proceeded to loophole their own regulations by always calling the duo the "Timnath Serah type", avoiding the designation of Invincible class. Convoluted, I know.

Known as the Timnath Serah type in the literature spite of the name ship being second in the order, this pair were enlarged relatives of the preceding Argo/Nautilus type ships. The principal difference was the increase in armarment from twin to triple 14 inch turrets; the armor was much heavier in weight than the preceding classes but was spread over a larger hull, resulting in an approximate wash in protection level. Timnath Serah and Invincible both led very active and successful careers.

The initial trio of Front Range fleet carriers, these excellent ships formed the backbone of "real" Front Range naval power for nearly a decade and demonstrated just how much the foreknowledge left from the Event helped the Front Range to the forefront of this type of warfare. Freedom and her sisters were fleet carriers of typical size. The hangar deck was the strength deck, allowing three large elevators, excellent working conditions and large air complements. Speed was high, turning radii tight, antiaircraft batteries heavy and accurate, and operational radii long. Command facilities were more than adequate for managing air groups and task forces. These should be regarded as possibly the best ships the Front Range ever produced. The last was not retired until the 1960s; Freedom herself is today a museum ship in Harbor Grove.
