The Most Serene and Noble Empire of Poles and Magyars

Introduction

The Most Serene and Noble Empire of Poles and Magyars or the Polish-Magyar Empire, is a sprawling and populated nation encompassing a large portion of Central Europe and various portions of West and Eastern Europe. Encompassing several billion people, of to which several ethnic majorities and minorities are present, the nation is ruled with by an Autocrats fist, while substantial attention is directed towards foreign relations especially with nearby Russia. This ensures the continued independence of the Polish-Magyar state against that of the Italians, Germans, and even the Russians themselves should they become jumpy.

The Polish-Magyar Empire boasts a proud history of military tradition and warfare tactics, having been birthed from the old Hapsburg Empire that once dominated these lands. In saying such the Polish-Magyarian military forces are staffed by some of the best officers in the world, have an excellent light infantry force; and have easily the best cavalry in central Europe. Polish-Magyarforces also have the benefit of breech loading weapons, with the exception of most musket models that find themselves in service to her forces. In saying such her artillery is also in the top caliber.

In saying all the grand things about the Polish-Magyar Empire one must also note she has her weaknesses as well. The language and cultural barrier is a major factor in the general make up of the empire as, German, Italian, Polish, Hungarian and various other cultural traditions hold sway. The empire at current also lacks a solidified naval force to project herself into the stars, a problem that will if all goes well be rectified. Among all things Hapsburg loyalist still reek with envy within the traditional lands of Austria and even at times Hungary, a problem that shall also be sorted out soon enough.

From an economic standpoint the Polish-Magyar empire still stands as a crossroad between east and west, although this has been diminished due to space travel. The Polish-Magyar Industrial capacity is fairly strong, and trade can still be somewhat of a factor when those peoples who seek to avoid Venice for trade do so. Above all the nation posses the capacity to rectify many of it's problems, particularly that of a lack of off world colonial possessions.
