What is their equipment? When are they deployed? Are there any restrictions on their tactics? What are their tactics? Did they take part in any situations that you’d like to discuss? etc.

-The "Special Situations Taskforce" (SST) branch of the imperial police force was founded in response to the great riots of 1904 that ravaged several major cities including the capital, Krieg. They would later play a key role in stopping the 1919 riots. The SST are deployed whenever a demonstration or protest erupts into physical violence.

-The standard kit of every operator is full body ballistic armor with helmet, gasmask, riot shield, baton, tear gas grenades, and Type 15 Pistol. Depending upon the situation, specialists armed shotguns, rifles, or other specialized equipment. Medics are present in every squad.

-Non-lethal tactics are used in every situation. Unless a massive loss of life is clearly imminent, lethal tactics and equipment are strictly prohibited. Shield walls are the most common formation employed, the goal of which is to slowly advance and disperse rioters. In riots where "leaders" or persons who are enabling more rioting are present, five man "snatch" teams of two operators with batons will advance behind three operators with reinforced shields towards the individual, the operators with shields will form a small perimeter while the other two operators subdue and handcuff the individual, at this point they, the shield bearers will then cover their retreat to the shield wall.

In Syvorji, the Riot Police are only deployed in cases where riots are getting out of control. The intent is NOT to suppress the riot, but to control it, to help calm things down. How? We simply use water balloons, water guns, and they turn it into a party.

In the rural areas, same, but they simply disperse after they arrive.

Vehicles:
A-10 Warthogs
UH-60 Blackhawks
Humvees with M2's
M1A2 Abrams
They have a few Apaches but those are to be used as a last resort

Weapons:
MG3's
USAS-12's and Saigas
Beretta M93r's
SMAW's but limited. Wouldn't want them destroying too many buildings

What's tear gas? What's riot shield?

We use the Gendarmerie Nationale for riot control. They are used to monitor protests and deter any violence or destruction of property. In terms of equipment, the Gendarmerie Nationale wears protective overalls underneath the standard ballistic armour, along with combat boots, a gask mask or a helmet with a perspex face covering. Most officers use batons to subdue violent rioters and are permitted to use ribber bullets and small bean bags as well as tear gas to disperse rioters. Some departments use paintball guns as well. The Gendarmerie Nationale is fully mobile and riot control officers are deployed via armoured vans with mesh screen covering the windows. They can also count on the support of modified trucks and other large vehicles armed with water or ballistic cannons.

Our riot police wear gas mask body armor and have a riot shield, they have a metal club to hit people with if they fell there lives are in danger and they have tear gas and airsoft guns

How they work
1.the riot police will order the rioters to leave and if they don't they'll threaten they'll be sent to jail.
2. if they don't comply with orders they'll fire out tear gas or airsoft guns at them and charge at them with metal clubs and shields.
3.the riot is over.

The Kalumban 'Specials':

What is their equipment?
Truncheon, Riot Shield and in extreme cases a 12 Bore Shotgun.

When are they deployed?
To prevent illegal marches/protests and to defeat rioting crowds.

Are there any restrictions on their tactics?
They cannot go out to actively kill or maim protesters but other than that they can do what they like.

What are their tactics?
They are usually used in a line to hold the riot/march/protest back from it's objective. If neccessary the mounted contingent charges the protesters to drive them back. Once the mounted units have broken the protesters up into smaller units, the foot units close in and arrest anyone in the vicinity.

The 'Specials' are not actually riot police as such, they are in fact trained volunteers who are called up when required. They are usually ex-police or Army and well trained in what they do. The mounted unit is the only official part of thee riot police being trained in crowd dispersal and truncheon use from horseback. The 'Specials' serve only as a back up to the Kalumban Police Force.

We don't have any specialist riot police. Our Boys just love to lay down the long arm of the law on Johnny Rioter by getting into a bit of rough and tumble on the streets, armed with baton, uniform, intelligence and superior strength. For major riots the Home Guard (army) may be called in.

^ This, with a giant shield that reads "ROMANS 13:1-3".

The difference between normal and riot police in TurtleShroom are as follows:
  • They do not wear robes, while normal police do.
  • Normal police in TurtleShroom are equipped with shotguns. Riot police in TurtleShroom are equipped with tear gas grenade launchers and are not armed. (Normal police assist the riot police by bearing arms for them.)
  • Obviously, riot police possess giant shields. These read "ROMANS 13:1-3" and are impenetrable by most types of guns, and all guns that a civillian can LEGALLY obtain.
  • Riot police carry a special cross staff as a symbol of their authority. If you've ever seen a Crucifer Staff, you've seen this.
    Image
The purpose of the staff is obvious. It's a blunt weapon that can bludgeon rioters.

That's right. Riot Police the fear of the Lord in you.

Whoever guesses why the shields read "Romans 13:1-3" gets a free virtual cookie.

Because Romans 13:1-3 says to obey the authority for there is no authority except from God? Do I get the cookie?

What is their equipment?
L1A1 SLR, often with a 10" bayonet attached
Standard military equipment
Tear Gas

When are they deployed?
When the police need assistance in controling a protest or riot.

Are there any restrictions on their tactics?
They are not to fire in anger and are not to actively kill or maim rioters.

What are their tactics?
In an event that the normal police can no longer control a civil event or need assistance to do so, the military with be deployed, with a normal police officer attached to aid the commanding officer/NCO in doing riot control. They would inform the rioters that they will be arrested if they do not return to their homes. If that doesn't work, tear gas will be deployed in an attemp to disperse the crowd. If the riot continues, the chief police officer will authorize the military to march onto the riot to break it up, detaing anyone that continues to be a problem.

Emerian Riot Police are just members of the Home Defense Force. The HDF operates domestically unless the Reserves are depleted and more troops are needed in another war. The HDF does most of the police work and does all the riot work. The HDF takes their normal uniforms and adds a shield, pistol holster, and a sling for a shotgun or machine gun. There shields say "Marsch weg Feinde der Krone". This is the motto of the Emerian Military. It means March Away Enemies of the Crown. This is what Duke Jacob of Arcova yelled to the Army of Nicholas before the Battle of the Arch. In the battle of the arch 2,321 Emerians defeated the most powerful military force in the region the Keyians, lead by Emperor Nicholas the Great and his Army of Nicholas who consisted of 18,982 men. This was the most glorious defeat of the any nation. The Keyian Empire was then suppressed and Emeria conquered there provinces and made the Empire that we are today, Emer Kingdoms. So that line is important to us. Even the Army and Marines wear it on the back of their helmets.

Armament
Tazer shotgun (it exists look it up)
P121 Colfer
20 gauge shotgun or an assault rifle
Bullet-resistant shield
night stick
