Ehm well.. You could say that I used Het Wilhelmus because I have a Dutch-style flag
And besides, there is a small Dutch minority in Hippostania, I've mentioned that in some other thread

But you don't make an anthem for one single minority. And even a country like the Orange Free State wouldn't use the Dutch anthem, even though the clear majority of Dutchmen. You aren't related to the Netherlands at all except for some Dutchmen living in your country, and I'd argue the flag and soon also the anthem, even though you have constantly denied this.

I designed my flag using the former South African flag as the base. Yeah, it's a symbol of the Afrikaaners who are descendants of Dutch settlers. And yes, there is a high chance that my future anthem will be Het Wilhelmus.
But that doesn't really mean anything. I chose the flag because I like the colors. I chose the anthem because I like the tune. That's all there is to it.

I think you are taking this a bit too seriously. Sure, you're dutch and I understand that you respect your country, your flag and your national anthem. But you also have to understand that this is NationStates. You are not supposed to take things too seriously here. It's just a flag, it's just a song. There's no reason to get angry because of it.
Besides, I have tons of Hippostania-related stuff in my computer. If I changed my flag, I would have to change all that, and it would take weeks! And if you really don't want Het Wilhelmus to become my anthem, ask your friends to vote for Hippostania Our Land or Rise, Voices of Hippostania.

That's good, because IMO that version best seem to fit with your nation. Though, personally I loved #3, but then that's because I'm bias and I freaking love that tune. See below

To be more specific... It's Symphony No.9 in D minor, Op. 125 "Choral"; with the theme fully heard in the Fourth Movement. Presto -Allegro assai - Allegro assai vivace

The vocal movement that accompanies the tune is based on a poem known as “An die Freude” that we English audiences have come to know as the Ode to Joy theme. Interesting fact, that theme-tune is actually in use as a national anthem, see European Union.
