Establishing a Foreign Legion

Postby Condundia » Fri Jul 08, 2011 9:42 pm

Hello all, I was wondering if it would be a viable option to open my armed forces to citizens outside my country? If I was going to allow it, how would I go about setting it up?

Shouldn't be too difficult.

Just make a nice glossy thread announcing the creation of your foreign legion, give some incentives to join (pay, benefits, promise of adventure, sharp uniforms and shiny medals, pathways to citizenship, etc... you may want to look at the RL French Foreign Legion and see how they do things), and then create a sign-up form for nations to "donate" men to your forces.

As a fair warning -- foreign legions tend to attract the scum of the earth.

Well, this is the Kirhean Tribes foreign legion thread: Kirhean Foreign Legion

That'd be one way to go about it. Though that was never intended to be a full-tilt roleplay, just a bit of fun...should have probably pursued it...

Well the most common way in NS (due to its simplicity) is to have regiments from individual countries, eg, if you have 80 regiments 5 may be all Anglo-Saxons, 1 may be an Imerian regiment, 2 may be from another country and so on.
IC Nation Name: The Glorious Empire of Luthoria
Monarch: Emperor Siegfried XVI

Thank You I will use all of you suggestions combined and some of my own research to form the basis of the organization in my factbook.
