How does your nation declare war?

The All-Shrillland Congress of Peoples meets in joint session to vote upon a declaration of war. To pass it requires a simple majority.

Amalstan's military force is composed mostly of civilians belonging to some tightly-knit local terrorist faction or general militia. More often than not, the commanding force is not a single man or a council or congress, but rather the leaders or democratic majority of said factions or militias themselves. A declaration, therefore, is often in the hands of the individual groups who make up the entire armed forces.

Whether or not a majority or the entirety follow suit is officially a declaration by the Council of Power, specifically the head of the Council, currently Aamir bin Hadeen.

The despotic Grand Chancellor, if in agreement with the Grand Minister, may declare war at will. However, the Federal Conclave can, with a two thirds majority, null this declaration.

If the declaration passes, the Grand Chancellor issues a formal statement of war, which is always scheduled to arrive directly before first strike.

In order for war to be declared, both houses of the British Parliament must approve a declaration of war with a two-thirds vote in each house, and then a formal document announcing the declaration of war is issued by the King.

In the USSM, war is declared by majority vote of the Politburo, and a yes or no from the Premier. The Premier has the final executive decision in war declaration. From there, once OPCOMS and ORBATS are figured out, initial force deployments are made. Once the forces are prepped, a formal statement is issued by the Defense Ministry. And after that, well....boom.

The New York Territory does not declare war. Only if war is declared on us, then does the Congress meet. If 2/3 of the Congress support going to war, then we go to war. If the Congress does not go to war, the Defense Board meet and round up the troops and place the nation down in lock down. That means border stations are closed and international airways are kept under tight lock down which means any planes coming and going are shot on sight. Then troops are placed at strategic locations around the nation.

The Senate meets immediately. Then, if 51% of the Senate votes on war, then the forces are mobilized immediately. Our close to 2.5 Million Soldiers invade the country. If use of Nuclear Weapons is proposed, the Senate Meets again. This time, if 85% of the Senate is in majority, then the Senate Leader signs the papers. If we are attacked, the Generals have immediate authority to fight the invaders but not to follow them out of the nation. The Airforce and Navy operate the same way.

Traditionally, the discussion to issue such a declaration will not even begin until and unless the President requests it. Thus petitioned, the Assembly will...assemble, and hold in-depth discussion regarding the causes behind the requested declaration, justifications, grievances, and so on and such like.

Eventually, a vote will be held. If it does not pass, then that is that, but if it does, then a declaration is issued to the public by the President, with the backing of the Assembly.

It requires 2/3 of both Houses of the Parliament, the approval of the Archduke and the Archpresident, and the formation of a Military Control Commission, to avoid any abuse by the soldiers or officers during the conflict.

A humble address is scheduled in both Houses of Parliament. If both pass, then the First Chancellor goes to Fairmont Palace to petition His Most Serene Majesty The King to declare war. Letters patent will then be written up (they usually already are, in anticipation), and are sealed by writ under the Royal sign-manual. These letters patent are then read out in both Houses of Parliament. The nation is then at war.

Interestingly, the letters patent are worded that "It is therefore the Will of Our most Serene, most Christian and most Excellent Majesty that a State of War exist between Our aforesaid Most Serene Majesty and [insert enemy nation here]"; it is The King, rather than the country as a whole, who declares war.

First, the Southern Zagorian High council takes a vote. If 3/4 are in favor, the Southern Zagorian Defense is mobilized. Special forces are then sent into the opposing country to sabotage weapons, demoralize their armed forces and generally be complete bastards. Then the regulars are sent in.

The Supreme Chairman calls a meeting with the Politburo to discuss the enemy, potential backlash (both external and internal), possible ways to solve the problem peacefully, and what stands to be gained from warfare. Once a consensus has been reached, the Politburo crafts a bill detailing the major requests for war, the reasons for it, the necessity, and what is to be gained. Once the bill has been written up, the Congress of People's Deputies is called to an emergency session and the bill is voted on. If a 51% majority agrees to the bill, a state of war is officially declared and the military is fully mobilized for actions to be taken.

These wars end very quickly, when the inferior colonialist powers capitulate and offer us their resources in exchange for the leniency of our glorious Eternal Leader.

If at least 75% of Parliament vote for it, the Grand President makes the final decision with his cabinet.
Should less than 75% vote for it, other options will be pursued.
All members of Parliament must present at least two reasons for their vote for or against war.

The Soigo constitution does not distinguish between declarations of war or any other act of the executive.
The Chancellor (our head of state) can declare war. But the Great Council has veto rights, so the Chancellor wouldn't declare war without the Great Council's backing.
