What are some minorities in your nation? Are they treated well?

In La Costa de Oro there are small groups of English Speakers due to the close proximity of an English speaking nation. They are treated well, though in the areas many of the Spanish speakers make jokes about everything having to be in English for them.

Humans and Mammalian Non-Humans are prominent minorities, along with the various tribalistic Reptilian species on the outer planets. The first is viewed upon with significant disdain and is discriminated quite often. The second is seen with suspicion by some and is somewhat discriminated against. The latter is looked down upon due to their primitive tribalist ways and are often thought to be uncouth barbarians.

There is a small English Speaking Minority, of about 3,000-6,000 people. They are found on the northern Island of Cairn Gorm. They are treated well, and as equal citizens, with their own TV Stations, Radio Stations, &c. They however request an independent nation, and view their neighbouring Gaels as barbarians.

Yes, there are several minorities in Romalae. The most famous minority is the Lansch minority – an ethnic group located in the mountains at the eastern border of the nation. Their language and culture is preserved and they hold the same rights as any other Romalan person. There are also minorities of Havanuan, Paursian, Catanian, Terpsik, Tiermican, and Frang people, who hold the same rights.

No minorities in Terra Mariana, save for a few thousand outsiders residing here as diplomats or business liaisons. There used to be quite many before they were expelled in 1948 for causing too much headache with their refusal to assimilate.

Now it's nearly impossible to immigrate legally (unless you can provide a really good reason of being here), and illegal immigrants are shot on sight as outsider spies.

Some may say we're missing out on the diversity, but least we got rid of those pesky Englishmen with their penchant for football hooliganism and indecent exposure near our national monuments while drunk, of the worthless Russian alcoholics and their shitty techno music (not that it wasn't invented yet back in the 40's), of the filthy stealing, swindling, dope-dealing Gypsy scum, and most of all, of the sneaky, greedy, wretched traitorous Jews. An outsider cannot be expected to understand how it is to deal with foreigners that haven't got a trickle of loyalty for this nation.

English is the only language that at least 50% of the population speaks, so even our six native tongues are minority languages.

Religious minorities
People of faith make up 1% of the population.

Non-human minorities
Non-humans make up 5% of the overall population.

Sex & gender minorities
Males make up less than 50% of the population, as do third gender/other groups.

Sexual orientation minorities
Heterosexuals, bisexuals, and homosexuals make up less than 50% of the population; pansexuality is the only sexual orientation with at least 50%.

Foreign minorities
Foreign born individuals make up 41% of the overall population.

Humans are a minority. They have equal protection under the law, though there is some tension with my native elves. And since only humans are Christians, there are even fewer of them. I don't know, every time they start whining I tell them to stick a sharp stick where the sun don't shine, and they get all offended and leave.

Right now they're throwing a hissy fit because I passed a law that transexuals could legally be classified as genderqueer. so there may be even fewer soon. The smart ones live long happy lives. The dumb ones that make my head hurt are shot.

Yes, they are treated horrably on almost every Imperial world save a few where they actually prove their worth. We are attempting to eliminate this problem though. Mainly by eleminating the non-humans.

The only non-humans who are treated well would be the very few Eldar that live in Imperial space, mainly because they are mostly diplomats. And no one wants to piss off the Eldar.

Although Aurora Novans are primarily descended from British and French colonizers, with the two groups together accounting for 76.4% of our population, as we are descended from Canada we are still a nation of immigrants, giving us many minority groups from all corners of the planet.

Immigrant minorities, while afforded the same legal, political, and economic rights as all citizens, are not universally accepted by the Aurora Novan population, and the Imperial Government has instituted a number of policies, from immigration restrictions to repatriation incentives, to limit the number of immigrants in the country.

The largest minority group in our nation are American First Nations, which account for 3.1% of our total population. Under our Constitutional Charter and the Treaty of Montréal, most Aboriginals exist separate from the institutions of the Aurora Novan state, and there have been some incentives offered for their relocation to the Native American Confederacy, though it is not a priority of the Imperial Government.

Also, minorities in Tsvarchi aren't discriminated against particularly, discrimination in Tsvarchi tends to be isolated and random, rather than widespread and against particular groups specifically.

Yes, the nordennavick's in the Northwest region, near the border of the Kingdom of Nordennavick. They are constantly discriminated against by regular Erusean citizens and the government itself.

Ethnic Poles (known locally as Uciedorajski) make up approximately 75% of the population; the minorities are mostly Eastern Europeans who either escaped the Eastern Bloc sometime between 1960 and 1971, and then from 1972 until 1991. These are as follows:

Russians (Rosyopanski, or "Russian-Occupier" locally)
Russians make up a fairly large chunk of the population, with their heaviest concentration being on Domoi Island, which the Russian Army used as a Forward Operating Base between 1971 and 1972, during their invasion of the island. While Russians are the largest ethnic minority, they are also the most heavily persecuted, and tend to live in some of the worst conditions of the island, and face the strongest discrimination.

Germans (Niekinierski, or "German-Refugees" locally)
Germans make up the third largest chunk of the population, with their heaviest concentration being on Stiefel Island, and its satellite islands. Many of these are the children and grandchildren of World War Two-era Wehrmacht and Cold Weather Researchers who were abandoned by the Third Reich after the fall of Moscow. While Germans do not face the same discrimination as the Rosyopanski, they are regarded with suspicion by the older members of society, mainly those who survived the Second World War.

Ukranians (Ukrakinierski, or "Ukranian-Refugees locally)
Ukranians are the fourth largest chunk of the population, with their heaviest concentration being on Zerwac Island. Many of these escaped the Eastern Bloc sometime after the Russian occupation in 1971-72, and are highly regarded by the Uciedorajski populations as fellow Slavs and brothers.

Lithuanians, Latvians (Litkinierski, and Lotewkinierski respectively)
Lithuanians and Latvians make up the final large bulk of the population, and are spread pretty evenly across both islands. While Latvians are treated the same as Ukranians, many nationalistic Uciedorajski consider Lithuanians as brothers in arms, and treat them with the same respect as they would a fellow Pole.

Yes, there are a variety of species constituting the small population of immigrants within the nation. The majority, of course, is the earthworm, however in underwater communities the spaghetti worm, ribbonworm, flatworm, and arrow worm are commonly found patrolling the rivers, lakes, and coasts. Also, inchworms are found inhabitating tall trees in mountain valleys.

In particular, they call themselves the Shapely Infinites, and they come from The Great One (that's the name of their actual homeplanet). They're round, they float, and a species of them emulate planets (miniature atmospheres, miniature populations, etc).
