Congressional Elections of the Republic

It is time again for the elections of the Republic's Congress.
As always, the people of the Republic will select 100 Senators, 2 from each of the fifty districts of roughly equal population.
Across the Republic, there are many major parties; the two that usually win are the Social Democratic Party and the Liberal Capitalist Party.
In the Republic, mostly everyone is socially left-wing; Gay Marriage, Women's Rights, Freedom of Religion, Secularism, Freedom of Speech, Privacy, Right to Bear Arms, and many other things are all constitutional rights, for example.
Below are the parties and their descriptions.

The Social Democratic Party
-Economically Left Wing
-Aggressive Foreign Policy
The Social Democratic Party has been the ruling party for some time in the Republic; they favor a highly liberal social policy, a large welfare state, and regulated capitalism, as well as an aggressive foreign policy aimed at eliminating Slavery wherever possible, and promoting the growth of Liberal Democracy wherever possible. Current President Daniel Hearse is a member.

In terms of social policy, they support

The Liberal Capitalist Party
-Economically Moderate
The Liberal Capitalist Party is an offshoot of the Social Democratic Party; while having an identical social and foreign policy, they have a more moderate, capitalist economic ideology. They currently maintain a collation with the SDP.

The Libertarian Party
-Libertarian
The Libertarian party is a laissez-faire group, supporting removal of regulations on businesses; they are also slightly more extreme than other parties; they believe owning a WMD falls under right to bear arms, for example. They have a non-interventionist foreign policy.

The Republic World-Wide Party
-VERY Aggressive Foreign Policy

The RWWP believes that it is the Republic's sacred duty to conquer all those considered barbarians; with a deep sense of nationalism, they believe the Republic should spread its freedom the world over.

These are the main parties of the Republic; The SDP and LCP maintain a collation together, because they consider the other two to be somewhat insane.

We find we are unable to support any party in this election. While we disagree with slavery, and value democratic principles, we would never support the blustering "world police" policy that three parties of the Republic apparently wish to enforce. However, we can also not support the Libertarian Party as we also disagree with civilian gun ownership, especially something so ridiculous as WMD's, which even a national government should not possess. In short we seriously disagree with the policies espoused by all parties in this elections, excepting of course the liberal social policies shared by all.

Open Letter to the Republic, in particular the Liberal Capitalists

We must take this moment to point out the hilarious difference between support in the coalition parties.

I am surprised that a party like the Liberal Capitalists are so happy to be a pawn in their extremist coalition partners.

Certainly, I must commend them, as a slaving nation, as a party prepared to continue dictatorship by being merely a farcical attempt at being a democratic power, as opposed to leaving the coalition and trying to oppose a bulldozer of power ready to crush freedom of politics.

Indeed, this is even worrying to us, that anti-slaving nations have taken to emulating us in order to try and become as prosperous and capable of working in the world!

We take this time to congratulate you on your eminent rise to power, and hope that some of your more sensible politicians, even if you are just as abolitionist as your powers, actually make it to parliament. Your voters will, hopefully, not be disappointed as puppets!

Hopefully, some day this will be rectified off the battlefield, but until then,

Well, the SDR has some Socialist members; at least this time, the majority of the primary winners were advocators of regulated captialism; if we go back to Socialism, the process would likely begin next Presidental election. Everyone else, I'll make a reply tomorrow.

Of course, we don't expect Slavers to have the brain power to understand our complex political situation, we feel the need to point out you are incorrect; indeed, our coalition is due to the fact on social and foreign issues, we are very close together; it is only on economic issues we squabble. The coalition was formed based on a vote by the people of the Republic to form this coalition.

As for the rest of this, rest assured we are not on the path to dictatorship; we will likely go into a free-for-all politically as soon as the next Presidential election rolls around.
