Founders' Day in Gewinny is marked by one of the few official bank holidays. It's traditional to celebrate by pursuing the nation's pastimes, badminton and backgammon. Many people like to prepare regional delicacies, such as roast terrier and mustard-flower soup, or head down to the docks and round up street-theatre performers for cage fighting. Founders' Day is generally seen as a day of relaxing fun for the whole family.

Unification day is celebrated in 1st Mangsir (17 November) - celebrate day when Ex - King Pritivi Naryan Shah unified different kingdoms and formed unified Nepal. On 1st Mangsir (17th November), massive rallies are held throughout nation and its colonies. Hundreds of thousands of people take flag of Nepal, dress in Nepali National Cloth, take khukari and arrive in there district headquarters where the administrator give a official speech (written personally by dictator) and the military (they are sent evenly to every district headquarters previous day) joins in the mass. They salute the statue of Ex- King Prithivi Naryan Shah and pay there respect to him. Then rally starts with firing of 52 guns in air. The rally enter every single street of there respective district. In the evening official meal is held throughout the nation and colonies where people eat and have fun - and remember Ex- King Prithivi Naryan Shah and his contributions. In the same day Entire Nepali Airforce take to the low skys of nation and colonies and make formation of huge Nepali Flag which extends in either end of the nation which can be seen from far far away, whereas the entire Navy takes over the seas and forms the huge flag of Nepal which can be seen by far far away... so we celebrate unification day in all three - land, air and water, in quite a grand way.

It's a national holiday, and most businesses (besides a few major retail stores and supermarkets) are closed. It's traditional for citizens to get together, eat enormous racks of lamb and drink copious amounts of beer, and light massive bonfires which burn for most of the night, although environmental concerns (and drunk people catching themselves on fire) have made this practice unpopular in certain circles. Most people will light a small fire, though, at the least.

As pilgrims of a strange, barbaric tribe, the name of which has been lost to the ages, the Commonwealth Caravaan Oasis was originally set up to be a corporate state. We celebrate the day the oasis was discovered, January 21st by the calender most people use, with extensive parades, fireworks, and a great celebration and bonfire.

Our parades typically include re-enactments of the discovery of the oasis that makes our capital city, and there is usage of fireworks in them - many people end up finding smoke-emitting fireworks being thrown among crowds of people, firecrackers scaring off the parades horses. In recent times, firecrackers and other explosives have been banned from parades, but we still use smoke bombs in the parades.

The fireworks are much like other country's, except we also have a celebration invoking the dragon that, in the founding myths, led our ancestors to Caravaan Oasis current spot. These celebrations of the Great Auknah involve fireworks that actually form the shape of a dragon.

At night, a bonfire is done, and on Founder's Day, pranks and tomfoolery of any level are tolerated completely.

Oh and it's also the night with the highest percentage of accidents due to heavy drinking. That in itself is a pretty fun tradition.

Nothing is compulsory here. As expected, many large stores and chain stores offer discounts on most of their products on the day the Bloodied Pass was sealed. Some celebrations include shooting projectiles at the sky, be they from firearms, slings, catapults, or otherwise. They generally fall harmlessly but as with most celebratory events, there is collateral damage from time to time.

Of the more solemn activities, the most revered is the annual pilgrimage to the Seal. This is not restricted only to descendants of the Seceded Militia and the original refugees. Anyone who can stand the perilous trek with only the gear that the settlers had with them is welcome. These days, much of the pilgrimage goes through towns and a city or two. The streets are closed off to let them pass. Once they arrive at the Seal, they may approach and touch the rocks. They camp for as long as necessary to rest their feet and make their return.

Overall, it's a full celebratory experience with no corners cut, and it consists entirely of anyone who wishes to celebrate or observe it for any reason.

Nowadays Independece Day in Licena is mostly an excuse to get drunk and get laid - both in public. The great majority of businesses remain closed throughout the day, altough the number of emergency workers, such as gendarmes, paramedics and firefighters on shift are doubled, and those who manage to escape the roster are required to remain on call throughout the day.

Our closest form to a independence day is the observance of Exodus Day, marking the day that the Pyrric Line fell to our enemies, and thus to prevent them from reaching our colony ships we had to launch the entirety of our nuclear arsenal to Earth, bringing about a hellish apocalypse for all 7.2 Billion Humans left on Earth, including well over 500 million of our own civilians who hadn't reached or couldn't afford to take the space elevator and all military personnel still on Earth.

As you might imagine, the attitude of the day is not celebratory but deeply sombre and restrained. Memorials are held for the honoured dead who died to protect the space-elevators while the civilians evacuated, including the more than 1 million volunteer militiamen who had almost no training but were willing to lay their lives on the line to guarantee their families safe voyage. Orators and statesmen deliver their sanctimonious speeches about never allowing tyranny to rise again, to be always vigilant in the defence of freedom and making promises to never again visit such a scale of destruction. The Exodus Song our national anthem is played throughout the nation for some time in respect for the Earth and for the fallen.

Quite a bit more celebratory would be our Confederation Day, celebrating the founding of the first four human colonies and to the subsequent end of The First Contact War which saw the introduction of the Orinean Commonwealth to the newly formed Celestial Confederation. Confederation Day is celebrated quite differently from planet to planet, so it's hard to narrow down one type of celebration, there are often elaborate military parades and festivities, in the Orinean Commonwealth however massive celebrations are held in honour of humanity whose actions saved their species from total annihilation from the Vodar.

Threlizdun actually has three founding days. One of them celebrates the unification of the various tribal groups into a national entity thousands of years ago (celebrated as the official founding day). Another celebrates the merging of our neighboring nation into Threlizdun. The most recent one celebrates the refounding of the nation from the Democratic States of Threlizdun into the anarcho-syndicalist Democratic Syndicates of Threlizdun. The traditions vary, though they often relate to the occasion. For the tribal unification we often display ancient traditions and customs such as various dances, music, and artwork, though of course several modern interpretations are thrown into the mix as well. For the merge we typically have similar practices to the founding day though honoring the culture of the previos nation. The refounding involves mostly involves indie, alternative, punk, folk, and metal music (yes these are strange genres to combine, but the people here love them), throwing many parties (they happen on the other holidays as well, but are a bit crazier), dancing, artwork, poetry reading, and displaying many red and black flags.

Our founding/independence day is generally celebrated with picnics, excessive drinking at bars, and workers taking the day off. Most (if not all) businesses grind to a halt on independence day, although utilities are monitored by electronic systems (so that the human workers may have the day off). The official law concerning the holiday is that workers get the day off - no mandatory celebrations or actions are in order. It is commonplace, however, for bars to offer free drinks for the whole day, for movie theaters to allow all war veterans a few free movie viewings, and for people in general to salute the nation's flag and sing patriotic songs at night (before retiring to bed).

Independence Day or more commonly known in Greto as Union Day is when we celebrate our declaration of independence from the Slovak Empire on July 1st, 1764 though the actual war didn't end until November 1st, 1776. Union Day is an Federal holiday and all Government buildings are closed as well as Government corporations, and many businesses close out of respect for the holidays, it's celebrated by eating and drinking a lot then blowing up explosives.

We don't celebrate, because celebrating is totally uncool.

We merely nod our heads in the direction of the closest person, and then say, "sup".

We then proceed on to our daily lives, which involves mandatory stripping and police surveilance.
