Is there a legal penalty, whether civil or criminal, for malicious prosecution and false accusation in your country?

In the Dekerin Domains, all false accusations of lesser offenses involve a fine, more serious ones a public flogging that varies in severity depending upon the scale and damage caused by the accusation. There is no "legal penalty" for malicious and false accusations in our country. Merely, the accuser would be wise to not stick around, as the public is not very forgiving for people who make such bold maneuvers (the last false accusation, made by a woman who claimed that her wife raped her, resulted in the woman being gunned down by vigilantes).

The police do not ensure the safety of anyone past the courthouse. If you make a false and malicious accusation, as soon as you step foot outside the court, the police wash their hands of you. If a mob is waiting to lynch you outside, that isn't their problem. If, however, the accuser is attacked within the courthouse, the police will intervene to break up the mob (this is rare, however, as most people prefer to utilize the loophole and lynch the accuser outside, where the police do not pose a threat).
