We were once of many nations? But in terms, we were never dependent on another as a whole.

To counter the post above me, I must say we were one of the Central Asian Republics that were satellite states of the USSR. Of course, after the 40th Army's blunders in Kandaristan, we declared our independence, annexed multiple surrounding republics, and then fended off a WA "peacekeeping" invasion to survive. We became hardcore capitalists, but to this day, the military is still our most important aspect of life, as seen in the signature.

The United States of Erie-Seru were once two provinces belonging to two oppressive regimes. Erie was once a protectorate province of Ardathium and Seru was a land possession of Otuacrem. Ardathium and Otuacrem bordered each other and were allies. The provinces of Erie (Ardathium) and Seru (Otuacrem) bordered each other and worked together to help each other secede from the two nations and form their own joint nation based on a common interest.

We are the aftermath of Królestwo Polska, after the revolutionary force was exiled to another colony. The rest was just the natural route to the foundation of our new country.

We were part of the British colony of the Province of Quebec until 26 December, 1791, when The Constitutional Act of 1791 creating Upper Canada and Lower Canada came into effect granting us a separate colonial status. The actual beginning of The Royal Federation of Counties of Fiddlegreen Farms was on 24 March, 1777. On that day American Loyalists who came to be known as United Empire Loyalists, who had arrived from the American colonies during the beginning of The American War of Independence, signed The St. Albans Declaration declaring loyalty to King George III and Great Britain at all costs. Our nation, like our neighbour and sister, Canada, remains a Commonwealth Realm with Queen Elizabeth II as our much beloved monarch!

Indeed we have, many times.
About 40 years ago we were part of an Empire called Europa;
before then we were part of a nation called Gondor;
before then we were part of the Britannican Empire;
before then we were part of the Reman Empire.

by Andocara
Andocara has once been part of several nations. At first it was a Spanish colony, being part of Mexico, then it became a very disputed territory between the US and Great Britain. It was settled by the British who explored the Pacific in the early 1800’s, but then it saw large waves of American migrants who ended up outnumbering the British 3:1. The ratio only grew, and until 1860, Andocara was considered part of the U.S. But a lot the inhabitants of Andocara didn’t agree with a lot of American fundamentals and seceded from the union. The US attempted to invade, but Andocarians were backed up by the British whom they sided with for a brief period of time. After they beat America by a mere landslide, inhabitants some who wanted to keep their American identity moved back to the U.S. Andocara briefly became a British territory, and the migrants to Andocara were primarily of British origin rather than American. However, Andocara eventually grew tired of the British, and in 1870, they declared independence from GB, to this day, they remain part of the commonwealth, though they have less British influence than other commonwealth nations.

Yes. In fact, it still is. The territory of the Sapmi is currently designated to be what most call Lapland. Saamiland, on independence, mostly follows this border, albeit slightly larger and excluding the Russian territories. At least, for now...

The Missionaries, who were the human expedition into what is now TurtleShroom, were nominally subjects of either the Imperial Russian Crown or the British Crown. In name only, the Missionaries oversaw a Russian colony.

In practice, they were completely independent. The Russian Empire never gave them orders or requests.

When TurtleShroom sent a formal request for dissolution of ties from the Russian Crown, the Imperial Russian government had almost completely forgotten that TurtleShroom existed. The actual Tsar remembered it after looking through some books, but otherwise, it was unexpected. For that reason, "independence" was given instantly and without incident.
